Thanks for these videos. I just purchased my first MPC, the key 37, from Sweetwater. I watched many UA-cam videos. It took me a while to decide to try it. I want to use it with my DAW Studio One, where I have produced six CDs.
I'm glad you found me. I appreciate you. My objective is not to show you how to play the equipment you already know how to play the equipment I'm just showing you other ways to get the most out of your equipment.
Hey man, help me out please. I want to buy this but idk if it's good for live performances. Does it let you split the keyboard into various sounds? Can you create your own sounds and create your thing? Thank you!
I'm new to all the technical stuff. I don't even have an audio interface. To record vocals on the key 37, I actually used the mic I use for PlayStation and sort of use controller as an audio interface. Not sure how it works, but it works. Basically sampling the "test microphone" in settings, USB c mic plugged into PlayStation, sampler plugged into controller. Also a good way to sample game sound. If that's not outside the box what is? Probably should get an interface though
I have stands already for my microphones. I was just holding it in my hand just as a visual but I do have mic stands and I have lav microphones as well but thanks for the advice.
@@sandersmediagroup3248 I was talking about a phone mount that clamps to a mic stand. I have one i use , so I can free up a hand. It’s like a cheap little holder/stand but poses anyway you like it.
I have my condenser mic connected to my focusrite solo 4th Gen, going from the outputs into the inputs of my MPC one+, my tascam model 16 is connected to the MPC one+ via USB. Tascam is selected as my audio device in the MPC one+. The issue is when recording there's no signal going to the audio track of the MPC unless I change the audio device to internal and by doing so i loose melodic track during playback.
You have to be careful because you have to arm the MPC audio input in two places I found out I don't know if it's a glitch or if it's something that can be addressed in the firmware update but inside of the track you have to arm then you have to go into an audio track and make sure it's armed as well and also check the mixer settings to make sure it's armed . I was having this issue especially with my vsts tracks not arming. good luck to you.
Yes most definitely. This is why this particular setup is so good because you can record two mic inputs at the same time into your MPC and overdub those tracks and on and on.
Cool.. thanks man. Just To clarify, 2 different tracks can be recorded on simultaneously right? Like in a daw type thing. Really considering the key 37 at the moment looks so useful. Even more so if vox n guitar can go onto separate tracks simultaneously,, but not a deal breaker.
Yeah the same can be said about the other model MPCs as well. Only drawback is you can only record two tracks at a time. But in the software if you have a multi-channel interface you can record more than two tracks at a time.
Hello, I m newbee with MPC and I got questions as to connecting and recording Electric guitar 1) Can I connect guitar directly to MPC or through guitar multieffect Boss ME 80 through amp or without amp only with multieefect? Dont know if this effect hot preamp? 2) I got guitar cable with one end classic GUITAR TRS and on the other end is USB A - should I connect this USB A with electric guitar or electroacoustic guitar to USB port A? or better will be use sound card? Got Scarlett powered by USB C, can I connect it with MPC Key 37 through usb? be powered from this usb port in MPC? 3) is there any amp, guitar effects plugins to MPC?
1) Yes you can plug your guitar into your effect pedal and run your effect pedal right into the line ends because the pedal outputs a line level signal I believe. I wouldn't plug your amp into those mic channels, but, you CAN mic your amp and run that into the MPC. 2) I don't think I would try that USB TRS cable either. But, Yes that Scarlett will work fine. It will be powered by the MPC's USB port. AND to add to that, try a USB mic plugged into the MPC key and use the onboard effects on the input channel to get more creative. Good luck. Peace.
It really depends on the microphone check your specs but I think you can go right in with a USB mic. Don't quote me on that. again be very careful and check the specs of the microphone I think a dynamic mic like a Shure MV7 should work okay with that USB port. And you won't be able to get 48V from the USB for a condenser mic I'm sure.
Sure I don't see why not any MPC that you can plug an audio interface into will work just fine and that's just about all of them. Well the newer ones anyway
Actually I just got rid of mine. Look up Milwaukee Vintage on reverb. You might be able to get it at a good price. It wasn't what I needed for what I'm doing. So I picked up a Korg Kross 2 88 for my Smooth Jazz. If I was doing Hip hop or R&B, it would be perfect.
thanks bro. you are the first to walk thru with this technique

I use the mpc with Studio One as well. Been doing that way for a few years now and love it

Nice video my brother! I run my 37 and my mics through my Tascam Model 16 so I can record live vocals. The multitrack recorder in it is No Joke!
Nice. That gives you even more inputs.

Love your vibe man! Big up ^^

Just get a simple phone holder mount that can clip onto a mic stand. Like a twist locking mount, cheap and easy.

No akai writes polyphony. Why?
That's a good question for Akai

Does it allow to use effects live?
Yes, most definitely.
