@@qilai844 you didn't get it. What it means is that I respect whatever faith you put on yourself, but you need to respect what others choose to believe (or not to believe), in other words, no one should impose their own ideology onto others. I m not religious but it's fine if my friends believe in Jesus or Allah...of course if they want to preach their religions to me. That's intolerable. I think that's what this comment is about.

However, the real situation currently is that it is illegal for people under 18 to enter churches in China, even if they are sent to Sunday schools or Youth Groups by their parents. Those who teach these children the gospel commit the crime of competing against 'You Know Who' for children's minds.

My relatives live in Quanzhou, and I'm very familiar with the streets and culture of Quanzhou; however I never had the chance and creativity to make an educational vlog like this. Thanks for sharing Quanzhou to the world!! also fun fact, many overseas Chinese in the Southeast Asia (like me) trace our ancestors back to Fujian particularly Quanzhou, and most of these Chinese are indeed businesspeople!

I've been there last year with an exchange program in my city (Neustadt an der Weinstraße) which is the german partner city of Quanzhou
    And I absolutely loved it
It's so vibrant and full of culture and history
On every corner there is something new to discover
I'm so happy you made this vlog, so that people can see this forgotten gem

Add a small piece of history. Quanzhou is also the home town of the descendants of the royal family of a kingdom in ancient Sri Lanka. In the early 15th century in the time of the Ming Dynasty, the king of Ceylon (世利巴交剌惹) sent the Crown Prince to China as an emissary with the Treasure Fleet of Zheng He. While in China, the Crown Prince felt in love with China and asked the Chinese emperor for permission to stay. (It was not an isolated incident. The Sulta of Melacca visited the Ming Emperor and stayed in China for 7 years as China was then the richest country in the world). He was granted residence in Quanzhou and married an Arabian princess. They sired descendants but kept very low key for generations. In the late 1990s the Sri Lanka government requested the Chinese government to help to find the descendants of the "lost" Crown Prince. They could find no trace of the descendants but with the help of the Chinese government, found an ancient family graveyard with the insignia of the Prince. They tried to remove the tombstones for study. When news broke out, the direct descendant of the Crown Prince, now a Chinese lady called Xu-Shi Yin E (许世吟娥), came up and called a stop to the intended destruction of her family graves. Upon verification and close investigation by the experts of Sir Lanka, she was established as the direct descendant of the Crown Prince and hailed as the Princess of Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka government hosted a "Royal Return Home Visit" for her in 2002 where she was treated like royalty in Sri Lanka during the tour. The lady is now a "friendship ambassador" of Sir Lanka and China. So much was the historical bond between China and the surrounding countries in Quanzhou. Damn, I must admit that though I spent 5 years time living near Quanzhou and have been there countless time, I never really realized how diverse and unique Quanzhou is! Much appreciated to your video, love it and keep the good work!

You do have a talent. It's not just a collection of random sites, it's a well organised and comprehensive way of representing the sites and culture. Well done

Exported along with the tea leaves from Quanzhou was the word for tea in many European languages. The word for tea in the southern Fujian dialect/language ("Minnan hua") is "te" (or "de") and the pronunciation is almost identical to that of the French word "thé", the Spanish "té", or even the Italian "tè". From there we then have the English word "tea" and the German word "tee".

I've been following your content for a while and think the storytelling, editing and research has continuously improved. This video is super informative and great to watch! Great work! A minor recommendation would be to invest into a clip on microphone - your audio quality is decent and I understand if you're aiming to capture sounds of your surroundings, such as at the beach, but it's worth considering using a mic for interviews and indoor settings. Thanks for the great content!
