The absolute transformation of this talented, but humbly self-conscious girl to the talented AND humbly self-confident woman she is today is absolutely wonderful!
i was just thinking how Carrie changed throughout the show....from a shy, naive country girl to a confident, take charge type of woman. And man does she look gorgeous doing it, lol. Lucky guy that Fisher is.
she is so flippin amazing! i don't know how she does it. It doesn't make sense how someone could be so incredibly gifted and drop dead beautiful. love this performance
I saw her in person a few years at the Missouri State Fair. Aside from preforming songs from her first album, she also did some guns and roses. Carrie rocked and she is such a sweetheart.
Well, she's definitely improved since then. You can hear how much trouble she's having with low notes which can be a big problem for female singers. But she was only 21 years old then with very little experience. Now her voice is much stronger and matured with age. She's easily now one of the top five greatest country singers of all time imho.
OMG! This has been my favorite song ever since ive had a favorite song and i went to a shania twain concert right after my house burned down and she sung it perfect!
For those saying that Carrie didn't do this song justice is crazy. Lets not forget how hard she had to work to get where she is now. Also this was not a song that she would have chosen for her self. The judges chose it for her. She was also sick singing this.
WOW.... Amazing! She is beautiful and wonderful... Man! She was a really hot woman rocker... You totally make me crazy.... WE HAVE THE SUPER STAR HERE!
@curlycutie7889 That's Clive Davis. He is very big in the music industry. He founded Arista Records, was Chairman and CEO of the RCA Music Group (at the time of this video), and is currently Chief Creative Officer of Sony Music Entertainment Worldwide. He has played a part in the careers of Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, and Whitney Houston, among many others.
I don't know why you are all complaining saying it didn't suit her, it wasn't like she had the choice of what song she sang? and she clearly was uncomfortable at the start, like Simon said.
Who cares if it wasn't a good song for her? She won and has won MANY more important awards since then. Plus she has some BETTER songs that fit her better.
First part of this song, sounded exactly like Shania, if i closed my eyes i wud have seen shania..it was a shorter version and Carrie did put her twist to it..BUT great song from a great songwriter sung by a Great singer..2 Thumbs WAY up !!
for all of you guys putting down carrie underwood, i will say this shania did better. THAT DOES NOT MEAN CARRIE SUCKS!!! let me remind you of how much experience shania had compared to carrie. carrie underwood is my favorite singer overall. she has AMAZING breath contol and range. if you don't like her style that's fine but you cannot say she isn't a good singer if you know anything at all about music.
Shania Twain doesn't have the same voice range as carrie she sings much lower doesn't mean carrie sings bad peeps u obviously don't listen to carrie often
Hey, she wasn’t the one who chose to sing the song. Randy did lol so for people to say she ruined it, it wasn’t her fault to sing a song she didn’t even decide to choose.
@princesasdejehova I agree. She seemed a little uncertain about herself during the beginning and kinda never got in stride. But that's all changed now.
No offense to Carrie Underwood but this song was not for her. Shania Twain had this soft velvety voice that made the song sexy and smooth. Carrie made it rough.
I first heard this in 2005 when she won i actually liked it but shania has btr range she did a good attempt but simon made a right point about not quite being comfortable with it.
This may be a girl's song but I don't care, I would even listen to Carrie sing "TV commercial jingles". Oh, that's right, I already have. This woman is amazing, she can sing anything and sing it PERFECTLY!!! My opinion.
You can tell she's just not into this song. Making her sing a song like that is like making Pavarotti sing TV jingles. Having said that, if I were Shania Twain and I'd just heard that rendition of my biggest song, I think I'd retire and go into selling real estate. Carrie's is the greatest voice of her generation. Bar None! I just wish she'd do 2 things: 1) do an album of classic country, like Patsy Cline, and 2) cut a straight up Blues album!
When I watched this episode, I knew that there was no doubt that Carrie would be in the finale (and that Bo would join her), regardless of what she sang or how she performed on top 3 night. However, 2 of her 3 songs on this episode, I did not like at all. Granted, she didn’t choose this one herself, Randy did. But with Randy being the one always telling her that she and he “knew exactly who she was”, you would think that he would have chosen a song that showcased the colors of her voice much better than this. Overall, the key was too low for her, and I think that messed her up. This song doesn’t have a lot of range to it and is more of a “fun”, girl power song. Some of you may have to be willing to agree to disagree with me on this, but I also wasn’t crazy about her performance of “Making Love Out of Nothing At All”, the song that she’d picked herself. It seemed out of kilter to me and shouted a bit, almost like someone else chose the song for her and asked her to belt it out. “Crying”, Clive’s choice, was the only song I thought she did a great job on in this show. All that being said, this was only the beginning of Carrie’s career, and she has evolved a ton and proven what a singer and artist with staying power she is. I actually wasn’t really a fan of Carrie during this season (not that I hated her, but I wasn’t crazy about her and wasn’t sure what the big deal was), but by her sophomore effort, she & her music really grew on me! I think her albums keep getting better and better, and that we gain more glimpses into her with each album & single. And when you hear Carrie on the radio, it’s undeniably her. I’m glad I came around. 😊 (And on an entirely different note, she has a kick-ass workout line that I love too!)
This is definitely NOT one of her better performances. Especially if you hear her now, and you're familiar with Twain's vocal work... terrible. It was just written for Shania, her voice, her range, her personality. Did great, like the judge said, to showcase her country-pop side, which as we know by now she turned into a career! :D
Kelly McFarland are you drunk high delusional flat out stupid or all the above. I'm going with all the above. Any song out of her mouth is the right choice for her dumb shit
I disagree with both of you. Carrie did great on this song and I always love her. But I am probably the biggest Shania fan you will ever meet and she has WAY more hits than just this song. Clearly you've never listened to country music prior to 2000.
The absolute transformation of this talented, but humbly self-conscious girl to the talented AND humbly self-confident woman she is today is absolutely wonderful!
❤❤ The most beautiful woman in the world. I love Carrie.❤❤
no one can sing this song as good as shania sing!!!

I don't bet. The best origin Shania Twain.
i guess it's kinda off topic but does anyone know of a good site to stream new tv shows online ?
i was just thinking how Carrie changed throughout the show....from a shy, naive country girl to a confident, take charge type of woman. And man does she look gorgeous doing it, lol. Lucky guy that Fisher is.
Haha I was literally just thinking about how I would love to hear a Carrie Underwood version of this song and then I stumbled across this haha
You can't even compare Carrie and Shania. They are both such amazing singers; they hold their own.
no one can sing this song as good as shania sing!!!
Love the part... "Man I feel Like A Woman"...
One of the best country singers in music today. And definitely easy on the eyes!

she is so flippin amazing! i don't know how she does it. It doesn't make sense how someone could be so incredibly gifted and drop dead beautiful. love this performance
Carrie, can make any song, her own. The songs sound like they were made for her! Amen!
I saw her in person a few years at the Missouri State Fair. Aside from preforming songs from her first album, she also did some guns and roses. Carrie rocked and she is such a sweetheart.

"Aw Randy, why are you going to make me say this?" lol
She did it pretty good. Not her best, but good.
@princesasdejehova
I agree. She seemed a little uncertain about herself during the beginning and kinda never got in stride. But that's all changed now.
No one can beat Shania !
how can you hate this performance??...
miley cyrus carrie Underwood
No offense to Carrie Underwood but this song was not for her. Shania Twain had this soft velvety voice that made the song sexy and smooth. Carrie made it rough.
toplaycool21 she didn’t pick the song......remember?
I keep searching for a good cover.. but i cant find one.. i kinda think, and dont shoot me, but taylor swift would do it justice
i agree :]

My opinion.

LOL no vocally she's not.
jteshuwah no YOU (jteshuwah) can tell that she's not into the song .the rest of us KNOW she's into the song dumb shit
just proves how hard this song actually is to sing
Carrie Underwood is a legend! and i prefer this version than shania, and shania version s great too.
@julliehideaway just the beginning. but yeah you're right.
She looks like reese witherspoon!!
Lol. Now only I realized it once u mentioned it
When I watched this episode, I knew that there was no doubt that Carrie would be in the finale (and that Bo would join her), regardless of what she sang or how she performed on top 3 night.

i think she did really did a good job on this song personally i think she sounds better than the orignal
She sang the song with her own range originally, doing the best she can.
Love the part... "Man I feel Like A Woman"...

This song really wasn't the right choice for her honestly
Kelly McFarland are you drunk high delusional flat out stupid or all the above. I'm going with all the above. Any song out of her mouth is the right choice for her dumb shit
Sorry but she is no Shania.
OMG Siomon gave a compliment. Whats this world coming to?
I disagree with both of you. Carrie did great on this song and I always love her. But I am probably the biggest Shania fan you will ever meet and she has WAY more hits than just this song. Clearly you've never listened to country music prior to 2000.
This song would be awesome with Brian's sound on guitar!
*Brian May's
Better then original
