Today, we are taking a walk around KITTE, which is built in the vicinity of Tokyo Station!
Located near Tokyo Station, KITTE is a shopping mall renovated from the former Tokyo Central Post Office. opened in 2013, its name comes from the Japanese word for "Kitte"(stamp) and carries on the history of the post office.
KITTE is a commercial facility that spans from the first basement floor to the sixth floor above ground, and houses over 100 stores and restaurants. Here, you will find a wide variety of stores, including fashion, sundries, restaurants, and cafes. In particular, many of the stores incorporate Japanese taste and stores selling specialty products from various regions of Japan are popular among tourists.
KITTE also houses a museum called "Inter Media Tech," which exhibits valuable scientific specimens and materials owned by the University of Tokyo. For those interested in science and natural history, this is a spot not to be missed.
The rooftop garden "KITTE Garden" on the 6th floor is the perfect place to enjoy a panoramic view of the Marunouchi Station Building of Tokyo Station and the surrounding area. At night, visitors can enjoy the romantic atmosphere of the garden along with the illuminated station building.
It is directly connected to Tokyo Station, making access very convenient. It is the perfect place to stop by between sightseeing or shopping and enjoy the history and modern essence of Tokyo at the same time.
