Am I better off is not an issue in this election. I'm 73 years old. My wife is 72. We are both retired and no, life is not easy. When has life ever been easy? You rise to the challenge that life presents. When one candidate says he will be a dictator day one this election became about survival. I love my country as it is with all it's warts and imperfections. I want my children to have a vote in the political life of this country. Dictators are always from over there. They always belong over there. Someone who wants to be a dictator let them get their own country - not this one!
Try listening to what was actually said in that Trump interview on Fox again. He said he would close the border. How is that wrong?
Over there the democrat president used his power to make several dictator moves. Joe Biden was that President that made ALL federal employees to take the Covid vaccine or get fired. He is the president that made the unconstitutional mandate for Student Loan Debt Forgiveness. He is the president that used his power over the Judicial branch to have his DOJ coordinate with democrat state prosecutors to target all MAGA republicans who supported D. Trump and indict him.
Joe Biden is that dictator who destroyed the border security & allowed more than 9 million illegal aliens into the USA and has wasted more than 60billion tax dollars on supporting those law breakers.
Joe Biden is that Dictator who caused INFLATION, Open Borders, Economic chaos and funds wars in Ukraine while wanting to support Hamas backed terrorists in Israel.

All I have to say, as a disabled veteran I wasn't worried about being homeless. After inflation, (not Biden's fault, I blame price gouging and the excuse of inflation), my rent went up 3k this year, and I am back in survival mode, with no money for any kind of extra spending that adds to quality of life ! Am I better off is subjective, yeah maybe I don't have to worry about Covid, but my future is in danger, and becoming homeless in this political environment means I will die under a bridge somewhere, or in jail because being homeless is a crime now.
Biden is on your side, Trump is on the slumlords and price gougers.

The inflation since Biden took office is on him. inflation is created by expanding the currency supply and dumping that money into the market. The FED is the only institution able to do that, and the government went full bore with inflationary spending during the pandemic.

I am a Medical Assistant in Primary Care. 4 years ago today, I was still going to work and my providers were doing all telehealth unless there was something we had to see in person, like a breast lump or something.
We were bleaching down our rooms because we couldn't get medical-grade wipes. Some of my scrubs were ruined by discoloration, and let me tell you, they are not cheap. (Yes, I tried to cover them up, but there was only so much I could do.)
We had to wear masks with eye protection, gloves, and protective gowns over our clothes with every patient. We then had to listen to them arguing and complaining about PPE requirements if they were to come into the office, or because we wouldn't see them if they had certain symptoms because we weren't equipped to diagnose or treat Covid, or because we weren't giving the vaccines in our office bc we weren't equipped to deal with that level of patient traffic.
I was mentally and emotionally exhausted, even though I wasn't on the proverbial front lines. I'm still exhausted whenever I think too much about how so much misery and death could have been avoided.
And in Maga world it might be faster than a minute!!!!!!!
You can't shut the world down for a year. Then expect to flick a switch and everything goes back the way it was. It takes years to recover and grow.

If you paid $4.39 a gallon in summer 2008, that’s $6.xx in 2024 dollars. Gas was most expensive under Bush with the possible exception of a 2022 blip that’s now gone

Prices/ inflation has been going up since I started working (and before) it does seem to be more extreme as of late but I fear that greed has got the better of our nature, especially rich greed ! Just saying.
These people don't care that they're being lied to. They WANT to be lied to. It's much easier to stay in one's comfort one, even if it's composed of conspiracy theories and hatred, than to admit they were wrong about something/body. It's all about pride:

OK F gas prices. I use to street race in high school, in 1986, i made 4 bucks an hour working after school and gas was 80 cents a gallon, do some math, maga cant. So gas is 3.29 a gallon where i'm at in Utah that's 4 times from 1986, ok. So now take 4 bucks at work, and times it by 4, comes up to 16 bucks an hour, and most make more than 16, being a robot engineer but retired, i make more a lot more. Gas is not controlled by a person, its a mob or gang mentality.

Inflation of the sort we’re experiencing is, significantly I think, due to price gouging. Same with rent. No president can stop that. We have largely unregulated capitalism. The price is what “the market will bear” and it creates cycles of inflation

I believe the inflation has a lot to do with the fact that in 2022 the average aged baby boomers retired and moved their saving in to things like T-bills which is causing the cost of borrowing money to rise and interest rate to increase. This was always going to happen, and has nothing to do with who is in the White House. Like most things, we're being lied to and treated like the shmuck we are. But we love being lied to because then we don't have to actually do the work to learn what's really going on.People would rather hold on to conspiracy theories and say the "dark state" is causing it. This way they don't have to feel stupid for being duped...again... due to their ignorance. We're all guilty of it. Things are complicated, and we just want to live our lives.

Well 4 years ago I would've been able to buy a house but now I how to make double or more not including the average interest rate of 7%. My rent has increased 25%, I am paying more on groceries and eating out. Of course I am still paying double to fill up my gas tank. We are funding a war with Russia where we sent close to 200 billion dollars to Ukraine. America's credit rating was triple A+ but got downgraded to double A+. I can go on but yea, life was better under Trump but those mean Tweets was so scary.

There are many things that are better. One, our taxes are far lower.the way trump and the Republicans set up the taxes in 18 seamed good at first, until you did your taxes, than you got hit with a big tax debt. The first year we had to pay $3400, the next year it was $4300 , than $5200, than $6400. It went down 5100, 4800, 1093, this year it was 693.

- Obama handed Trump the longest period of economic growth in decades... Trump was just riding that train. Trump ran up $7.8 trillion in debt (25% of the total debt) in only 4 years.
- No one is "pro-Hamas". That is absolutely not what the protests were about.
- COVID is still with us... Most people have either had it or are vaccinated, so we have achieved herd immunity. There are still cases and there are still deaths.
- Trump negotiated with the Taliban without the Afghan government... and he wanted to pull out of there 4-5 months earlier. He also released Taliban prisoners we held.
