Beware of success bias! We often don't hear often about failed attempts. Just like with a lottery, the only story we hear is about those who won or those who failed spectacularly. Tech is an area with high risk and high reward.

Hm hm, and maybe there is a discussion to be had about him actually being in a position to give advice to young men. His content looks rather self-serving, and patting himself on the back at every step of the way, as to say that he knew best all along and still does.
      This is never the case.
So yeah, like I said, that's something worth of discussing rather than making up one's own mislead theories and swallowing down what those Gurus think they have to say.

Buddy, if you can stand to look at yourself in the mirror every day, you've earned the right to a nice salary with all the perks, including visiting wonderful places. I appreciate your insight. My 2c, it is also important to broaden one's perspective. Building a product is only one small part of tech. Sales, Marketing, and other related skills are typically ignored by entrepreneurs with a "build it, and they will come."
Chasing a dream job can be just as illusory when striking out on your own. Most of us entrepreneurs spend something like 80% of our time doing all the things we didn't want to do but now have no choice if we want to succeed. Accounting is boring, sales is dirty, marketing is fluff - if this is the knee-jerk reaction of someone quitting their tech job to start their own thing, better re-think.
UA-cam, for all of us other than the lucky few, is a tool, not a job by itself. A great tool. Anyone making fun of a UA-cam career doesn't understand that for every famous UA-camr, there are many more making a living using UA-cam to help their business. Some with as little as a few hundred, or just a few thousand, not hundreds of thousands subscribers, have created a six figure plus "job" they totally control themselves and love.
Just saying to those thinking "I don't want to be a UA-cam influencer", you aren't seeing the real picture.

Well explained, mate. 100% agree. A month ago, I stopped working as a Lead Data Analyst and am now doing full-time Liquid Drum and Bass production and DJing. I started making music at age 33. When it was just my hobby, I worried if I had started too late, but now I do 40+ hours of music production weekly and don’t give a damn about the worries. I’m just doing my best with a lot of joy, hoping that the ramen period will end one day. Now I don't fear that my days will be the same and the only opportunity I have, as you explained so nicely, is a promotion or a switch (hopefully, voluntarily) to another tech company. Now the fear has been replaced with faith. I'd like to highlight this last thought 👉 I don't live in fear. I live with faith. 👈
PS. My guess on your location is Etna.

Tho, I believe there is a fifth lever, that could act as multiplier of the other ones. I'm talking about AI.
Indeed, I do believe that in the next year, being able to master this technology, will be extremely empowering. As a non technical person, I can already build prototypes (code), translate my content to hundreds of languages in few minutes (media), and even automate a lot of tasks (labour).

Safe jobs do exist. Ask any Indian, if you know one. That is the reason that youths of India waste almost a decade of their life preparing for government job exams. I got it one year after college. And then two years into it, I quit. Because I couldn't bear the environment.
Some say quit your job, some say do not quit. But everything comes down to the quality & quantity of backup you have and how long it can support you. I had no debt or loans to pay & I had solid backup so I quit. Everyone's situation is different & thus one needs to access their debts & backup before quitting their job.
And people need to consume none or less self-help content.

To open doors for others, to give the benefit of doubt, to make generous offers to teach and share what we are lucky to know and understand.
IMO Enrico, worry less about leveraging UA-cam to make something for exponential success after a ramen phase, instead look more towards making our world a better place.

The difference between the girl and Musk is that the girl is working harder physically but the cognitive work is relatively low, especially if she does the same work everyday. Cognitive overload in corporate/tech job is very stressful and overwhelming sometimes. Hence the salary differences.

Oooooh te poooor suffering billionaire, it hits right I the feeels!😢
I’m sure the “dumb pheasant girl” doesn’t have to think much about how to hustle to get food every day with all her gloriously limited opportunities in an unstable situation.

Musk could literally do nothing all day, and he would still be paid the same. His earnings have nothing to do with how much he works, but how much the company makes. You have to be very disconected from reality to propose that a man earning 2 million times more than his employees actually got that from hard work, he could bite the dust and any guy with an MBA takes his job and the company runs fine, just look at Apple.
And cognitive work is not by itself better paying, or else einstein and other scientists would be richer, and programmers would not have to fear AI.

There are much smarter people than Musk that work even harder. The difference between Musk and these people is leverage.

Salary differences, especially on a global scale, only make sense if you abandon the idea that there is any kind of moral justification for them.
