Upasanites present Murugan kauthuvam

This bharathanatyam presentation is based on the beautiful composition by the Tanjore Quartette in Ragam-Gaula and Thalam- Chaturashra Eka.
This piece beautifully words the prayers of the devotees of Lord Muruga which our dancers humbly interpret.
He is the one who uses his vel (spear),to alleviate all the miseries of his devotees. He is the older brother of Lord Ganesha, who bestows knowledge of rhythm and music to those who surrender with all their might. He, who rides upon the majestic peacock and soars around Mount Kailash. We bow to you perumal.
