This was sad to hear... Thank you BBC for covering up such a tragic topic. Being a paramedic, I can recall the moments, when I was on training & trying to learn everything, & was often burdened with a lot of tasks to do... & I had to keep smiling, so I could fit in the workplace easily... No one saw me tired, or sitting on the couch, or taking rest during my internships.. Even though some of the colleagues look down upon you, like you're something that doesn't fit there... This report made me recall the moments & tear my eyes. 😢
This is a very tragic report. Job is for life, not life is for job. Here, family should support that person fully. This problem is in every occupation not only for doctors.
Prayer and listening of Quran during Tahajad and Fajar time is the best way to eliminate 100% of the stress. Thanks to my Allah Who showed me this best way.
I am originally from Pakistan and worked in Pakistan, UK, Saudi Arabia & Canada. The worst experience I had was in the UK! I was told that I’m not good enough, unfortunately faced discrimination, hate, harassement in some work places and in others I have to do more work to keep them happy. There is no perfect place in the world but Alhamdulilah things are way better in Canada not like all other countries!

The whole point of this video is that we have to make our children very strong, instill self-confidence in them, if something like this happens, don't think so low of yourself, just move on.
What about Drs In Pakistan,they are forced to work unpaid in most hospitals like CMH etc during their training period. And have to work 36 hrs non stop. And there are many cases of harassment and torture by their Senior Doctors.People are giving more then 1 crore to make their children Doctor in private medical colleges and know one talks about these private colleges mafia, no one talks about Sifarish and rishwat culture you have to pay to get a normal Medical Officer Job .
Thank you very much for this excellent documentary highlighting the stress of working in the NHS. I have retired after working for 20 years as a surgeon in the NHS and have personal experience of enormous stress which I had to quietly endure. Hopely things might improve after this report

Every doctor should be asked to see a psychologist at least a once a year compulsorily. And he can speak any concern he has and it should be in different trust or hospital

Every department has a toxic senior, who targets a specific junior doctor and transfers all her/his frustration on her/him.resulting in frustration and survival difficulty for that junior.
Australia is much better option for doctors and nurses. There has been a trend in recent years where many doctors, especially from Indian and Pakistani background seen migrating from UK to Australia. A few weeks ago, I saw a report on ABC News, in which many such doctors were interviewed and they told to the reporter that they are satisfied and happy as the environment here in Australian hospitals and the salaries are much better than in UK.
As an Oncologist ( cancer specialist) treating cancer patients I can feel what he is talking about! The work pressure is a real thing and you cant get rid of it in any way, long working hours for doctors are the biggest reason we become exhausted , this exhaustion is mental as well as physical.

Great investigations. There are hundreds of senior doctors who have left the NHS because of an unfair investigation system. GMC is a doctor's funded organization. It's main responsibility is to protect Doctors right along with patient safety and rights. A doctor cannot counter file a case against the applicant if he or she will be found innocent after a lengthy tyring stressful investigation. A doctor must have the right to take legal action against the complainant who filed false fabricated charges against a doctor. In most cases these cases are filed against a doctor on personal grievances, without any substantive reason and evidence. There are no fees to file a case against a doctor. GMC uses the same funds which it has generated from the doctor to investigate against him. Basically it gives the feeling to a doctor that GMC is being funded by Doctors to investigate against them. GMC doesn't play any significant role in providing free teaching and training to doctors in return of substantive annual membership ship fees. GMC must look into the overall process of such investigations. It requires a balance between the rights of the complainant and the doctor.

I felt the same, during covid my company let go of several people and i was assigned most of the tasks with the understanding that once covid was over, those positions will be rehired. After Covid they did not rehire more staff, i was doing the job of 4 people. The amount of workload was such that i was struggling to get the work done. For 2 years my pleas of more staff fell on deaf years. One day i collapsed due to extreme pressure and fatigue, i was so depressed and heartbroken, i had been at this company for 15 years, but the workload almost killed me...i resigned last year ..took a short break and now i have started work at another company. Not worth it.
Who told u no accountability, no monitoring and chill job in pakistan? I am a govt medical officer in pakistan and it is worse. Yes general public suffers but the condition of doctors is pathetic.

Yesterday a Pakistani family was assaulted by Manchester Police at Manchester Airport. The guy was prone and was hit in the face by the policeman and than he stomp over his head. This terrified me , UK is becoming untolerable
If you think UK is intolerable, then try living in Pakistan. And those men attacked the police first. Infact UK needs to get a grip on law and order situation and enforce stricter laws.

Documentary has raised an issue but failed to address the issue. What is the conclusion? The authorities to answer the issue are absent from documentary. A good investigative documentary should include all the relevant people and sake the reaction of all sides. This doc should be made again.
No time for personal life, no appreciation, discrimination and mental stress is leading to do such act. Not only in healthcare but also in other sectors. The owners of such businesses doesn't know what are happening to their employees which they don't see everyday. Sometimes you're not even allowed to take a sick leave. If you're not feeling well for more than a week they'll replace you with someone.
Did NHS asked to come in UK from subcontinent region? Actually, discrimination is in the blood of human being. In India there is extreme discrimination against muslims. In Pakistan there is discrimination against Afghans and other people. Secondly, there is a vast difference in the culture and attitude between the two civilisations. the ultimate solution is to make your own country liveable so you want be able to move somewhere else with out dignity and in modern world slavery.

As a doctor I don't feel any discrimination against any cast in Pakistan...but language barrier is present too much in Karachi where ppl come from interior Sindh, Baluchistan n aghwan refugee n too much load on doctors as most travel to England n america for money

Best way to handle stressful work is very simple - don’t work extra hours at all. Don’t accept every task blindly. People need to understand that they cannot do everything.

In all this scenario, the sad point is that those junior doctors who remained in stress when they become senior and hold administrative posts they don’t try to change stressors. Rather they become more cruels
Majority of the female doctors are intelligent and hardworking and they spend all their time to achieve their goals which is SPECIALISATION and when they get the specialisation and they look behind they have passed the period where they could have family,kids and husband but in persuit of QUALIFICATIONS AND CAREER they feel they have wasted their TIME , MONEY AND ENERGY FOR THE GOALS which have destroyed their personal life. THESE FEMALE DOCTORS are worried about to get married and have kids which is difficult to achieve at the later stage.
I live in Pakistan and My boss is ik UK and i work for him remotely. UK is stressed. Because UK has no as such natural resources except for relying on human resources.

A lot of doctors are doing their residencies. Also, they are sometimes waiting for their immigration status which means a lot of night duties and double the work. Also, seeing 20 patients each day. Especially during pandemic and after pandemic shortage of nurses and doctors have put tremendous pressure on the doctors and nurses. HMo’s like Kaiser took out so much staff even the front desk people. The physical therapist appointments , people have to wait for months. Companies are taking more patients, but are not hiring .
Same reasons as are in Ireland.. Bastrd seniors pressuring juniors . And system and rules are only to showcase , In reality juniors are afraid to report anything because of fear of losing job.
Mostly doctors are heavily overworked and underpaid....... No one can imagine agony and nerve devastating working environments being created in hospitals and teaching institutes..... The day is not far enough that people will abdicate medical field and it's already begun. 😢

Meri ek senior hain jo apne batch ki gold medalist rahee hain and she passed both PLAB and AMC exams but she preferred UK over Australia and Alhamdulillah she is living very successful and amazing life there coz she has always been on the top whenever it comes to competition plus she has published many research works in journals, khud ko itnaa qaabil banana chahye na, aap jin cases mein investigation ki baat ker rahee hain there must be a reason k investigation kyu chal rahee hai, vo Pakistan nahi hai k patient k marnay pe nobody will bet an eye cos hospital's reputation matters there, and on top of that bullying and bad behavior of staff exists everywhere, mein civil hospital karachi mein thee , there was one visit in rabies centre jahan humein students ko le k gaye and all patients were behaving so bad even with us students k aap itna time kyu laga rahay hain, plus those patients behaved so bad with male staff and nurses, they didn't even have a basic decency to communicate , well I hope whoever is reading this May Allah make your and my journey easier in this field

@@zoeyanaqvi-zn7482 there are many other options too, like USA or Australia, tbh being a med student myself in Pakistan, the condition here isn't better either, many of my batchmates want to leave this country for better lifestyle and income which won't exist for them in Pakistan , truth is what it is, many of my fellows have even started preparing for USMLE , it also highly depends on that person how do they tackle their situations, every place has pros and cons, thousands graduate every year, pakistani hospitals can't accommodate all, many are jobless doctors so students prefer the PLAB, USMLE, or AMC, because success in those exams guarantees their job , in many of my seniors majority of those doctors are successful who prepared for leaving this country long ago , and some graduates from their batch who chose to not leave this country are still not getting any job sadly
926 doctors were contacted amongst whom only 197 doctors participated, then How come 46 had suicidal thoughts 16 quit profession during investigation 58 said they should do likewise 154 opined that investigation badly affected their mental health 179 had to suffer from serious anxiety and stress??? Can't figure out this calculation 🌚
I have seen few doctors n nurses that have been investigated and they felt discriminated during their investigation and theirs career were destroyed. NHS needs to change the work policy.
Britin is the worst place for doctors. They are overworked they are paid less . Nurses have been seen in soup kitchen lines . British health system is the worst in the world.

working with NHS is difficult but honestly it’s really hard for a doctor to work anywhere in the world esp in a hospital setting

Negative. The pressure is everywhere. Doctors are only satisfied later on in their careers. Junior doctors are very vulnerable in Australia!

Great investigations. There are hundreds of senior doctors who have left the NHS because of an unfair investigation system. GMC is a doctor's funded organization. It's main responsibility is to protect Doctors right along with patient safety and rights. A doctor cannot counter file a case against the applicant if he or she will be found innocent after a lengthy tyring stressful investigation. A doctor must have the right to take legal action against the complainant who filed false fabricated charges against a doctor. In most cases these cases are filed against a doctor on personal grievances, without any substantive reason and evidence. There are no fees to file a case against a doctor. GMC uses the same funds which it has generated from the doctor to investigate against him. Basically it gives the feeling to a doctor that GMC is being funded by Doctors to investigate against them. GMC doesn't play any significant role in providing free teaching and training to doctors in return of substantive annual membership ship fees.
GMC must look into the overall process of such investigations. It requires a balance between the rights of the complainant and the doctor.
Look into GMC’s aim and objective. It clearly states that purpose of gmc is to protect public and maintain trust.

I felt the same, during covid my company let go of several people and i was assigned most of the tasks with the understanding that once covid was over, those positions will be rehired. After Covid they did not rehire more staff, i was doing the job of 4 people. The amount of workload was such that i was struggling to get the work done. For 2 years my pleas of more staff fell on deaf years. One day i collapsed due to extreme pressure and fatigue, i was so depressed and heartbroken, i had been at this company for 15 years, but the workload almost killed me...i resigned last year ..took a short break and now i have started work at another company. Not worth it.

Yesterday a Pakistani family was assaulted by Manchester Police at Manchester Airport. The guy was prone and was hit in the face by the policeman and than he stomp over his head. This terrified me , UK is becoming untolerable
If you think UK is intolerable, then try living in Pakistan. And those men attacked the police first. Infact UK needs to get a grip on law and order situation and enforce stricter laws.

Documentary has raised an issue but failed to address the issue. What is the conclusion? The authorities to answer the issue are absent from documentary. A good investigative documentary should include all the relevant people and sake the reaction of all sides. This doc should be made again.
Govt and establishment should support doctors and nurses. They treated people not to take their own lives. Ohh God!😢

No time for personal life, no appreciation, discrimination and mental stress is leading to do such act. Not only in healthcare but also in other sectors. The owners of such businesses doesn't know what are happening to their employees which they don't see everyday. Sometimes you're not even allowed to take a sick leave. If you're not feeling well for more than a week they'll replace you with someone.
Did NHS asked to come in UK from subcontinent region? Actually, discrimination is in the blood of human being. In India there is extreme discrimination against muslims. In Pakistan there is discrimination against Afghans and other people. Secondly, there is a vast difference in the culture and attitude between the two civilisations. the ultimate solution is to make your own country liveable so you want be able to move somewhere else with out dignity and in modern world slavery.

As a doctor I don't feel any discrimination against any cast in Pakistan...but language barrier is present too much in Karachi where ppl come from interior Sindh, Baluchistan n aghwan refugee n too much load on doctors as most travel to England n america for money

Majority of the female doctors are intelligent and hardworking and they spend all their time to achieve their goals which is SPECIALISATION and when they get the specialisation and they look behind they have passed the period where they could have family,kids and husband but in persuit of QUALIFICATIONS AND CAREER they feel they have wasted their TIME , MONEY AND ENERGY FOR THE GOALS which have destroyed their personal life.
THESE FEMALE DOCTORS are worried about to get married and have kids which is difficult to achieve at the later stage.
I live in Pakistan and My boss is ik UK and i work for him remotely. UK is stressed. Because UK has no as such natural resources except for relying on human resources.

A lot of doctors are doing their residencies. Also, they are sometimes waiting for their immigration status which means a lot of night duties and double the work. Also, seeing 20 patients each day. Especially during pandemic and after pandemic shortage of nurses and doctors have put tremendous pressure on the doctors and nurses. HMo’s like Kaiser took out so much staff even the front desk people. The physical therapist appointments , people have to wait for months. Companies are taking more patients, but are not hiring .

Same reasons as are in Ireland.. Bastrd seniors pressuring juniors . And system and rules are only to showcase , In reality juniors are afraid to report anything because of fear of losing job.

Meri ek senior hain jo apne batch ki gold medalist rahee hain and she passed both PLAB and AMC exams but she preferred UK over Australia and Alhamdulillah she is living very successful and amazing life there coz she has always been on the top whenever it comes to competition plus she has published many research works in journals, khud ko itnaa qaabil banana chahye na, aap jin cases mein investigation ki baat ker rahee hain there must be a reason k investigation kyu chal rahee hai, vo Pakistan nahi hai k patient k marnay pe nobody will bet an eye cos hospital's reputation matters there, and on top of that bullying and bad behavior of staff exists everywhere, mein civil hospital karachi mein thee , there was one visit in rabies centre jahan humein students ko le k gaye and all patients were behaving so bad even with us students k aap itna time kyu laga rahay hain, plus those patients behaved so bad with male staff and nurses, they didn't even have a basic decency to communicate , well I hope whoever is reading this May Allah make your and my journey easier in this field

@@zoeyanaqvi-zn7482 there are many other options too, like USA or Australia, tbh being a med student myself in Pakistan, the condition here isn't better either, many of my batchmates want to leave this country for better lifestyle and income which won't exist for them in Pakistan , truth is what it is, many of my fellows have even started preparing for USMLE , it also highly depends on that person how do they tackle their situations, every place has pros and cons, thousands graduate every year, pakistani hospitals can't accommodate all, many are jobless doctors so students prefer the PLAB, USMLE, or AMC, because success in those exams guarantees their job , in many of my seniors majority of those doctors are successful who prepared for leaving this country long ago , and some graduates from their batch who chose to not leave this country are still not getting any job sadly

I have seen few doctors n nurses that have been investigated and they felt discriminated during their investigation and theirs career were destroyed. NHS needs to change the work policy.
A person who is coward cannot be a good Doctor , you dont live for people, u live for yourself, what people say or think, who cares about it....
Britin is the worst place for doctors. They are overworked they are paid less . Nurses have been seen in soup kitchen lines . British health system is the worst in the world.
