We won't get the new C4 Cactus in Australia. Only the C3, C3 & C5 Aircross. So I have just ordered on of the last C4 Cactus runout models with the wonderful airbumps, 1.2 turbo diesel, 6 speed auto, leather and sunroof. (I miss out on the new Advanced Comfort suspension and seats). In Australia Citroens come with 5 yrs warranty and roadside assist and full sized spares (very important here). Last weekend we text drove the C3 Aircross with the same engine and auto as I am getting. Very impressed. Also previewed the C5 Aircross which will be released in two months. Exceptional car and the progressive hydraulic cushion suspension. Sharply priced for the Australian launch to get Citroen moving Down Under. The main Sydney dealer Continental Cars has been exclusively Citroen for 61 years and in the same family ownership, with fantastic customer service.
Citroen for many years have lead the way with their hydraulic suspension dating back to the Wonderful DS. Nice to see them update the system for the new generation of buyers. As always enjoyable and thorough review. Thank you.

Great video. I like the C4 Cactus. For me the facelifted version looks better. Still unique but not too quirky. The interior is very special as well. All those little details that are different from all other cars. If I bought a Cactus I would go for the 110 hp petrol with the automatic gearbox. That way the ride would be even more comfortable and I wouldn't miss the rev counter so much. The new suspension system is very promising. Comfort is what I want in a car for every day driving. With a more direct steering and without the popout windows in the back the Cactus would be a very attractive car for me. Would, would, would. I actually did go for a Peugeot 308 SW with 130 hp petrol engine and manual gear box. With particle filter which was very import for me.
I tested last weekend and i must say! IT IS AMAZING!! Will be my first 0Km car. It is just confortable... A lot confortable!! You barely feel or hear the bumps!
Would you go for the C4 Cactus or the Peugeot 308? There is not much difference in price between those two. The suspension in my 308 SW with 16 inch wheels is relatively firm. It's not uncomfortable, but it could be a little bit smoother in some occasions. Did you notice a big difference there in the C4 Cactus in comparison to the 308? The suspension is actually the only little downside of my new 308. I would have expected it to be noticably more comfortable than my 208. All other aspects of my new Peugeot are perfect and meet all my expectations.
I guess the Cactus just went the road of the Smart: Good steps from a technical standpoint but big steps down in terms of visual design. The only thing I don't getcis why they ditched the airbumps but introduced them in the 2018 C3. What I also don't get is the state of the car when the new C3 Aircross got almost the same dimensions, pretty much overtaking the Cactus when the buyer wants to buy a small SUV from Citroen.
A good technical review in stead of the "where are the cupholders?" sort. One does start to wonder if Citroen deleting active hydropneumatic suspension has lost it sales. Is that maybe the reason they are bombarding us to death with all this suposedly "new" technology? It could be I'd like the new stuff if I'd actually try it but from a distance it mostly sounds like marketing blurb. It will never be fully comparable to the active safety of the Hydroactive solutions anyway. I still drive a XM myself. It's pre info-tainment-bubble but has the right technology where it really counts. And yes you are right about the new Cactus's diluted styling. If only Citroen would make it's mind up at last! To me the brand has lost most of it's appeal. I'm still a real Citroen buff but I probably wouldn't buy one if I would go for a new(er) car. The DS's are even worse: Baroque pomp with no real reasoning and innovation behind it!
Marc Brassé when I tried the original Cactus the lack of cupholders killed it. They were present... but an overhang meant they couldn't take the cups. If my wife can't stow her coffee she will moan ad infinitum. If my wife moans ad infinitum it is only a matter of time until I am doing top speesd the wrong way down a motorway.
