Thanks, fun review and great channel.
Would you consider doing a video about the movies of Ava Gardner? She was sensational and sadly very underrated. 1964 The Night of the Iguana was my favorite performance of Gardner as Maxine Faulk.

I can remember this movie from when it came on TV when I was a kid I think. Personally they should have left the sound on in the theaters because the plaster cracking and everything else would have made the movie experience something to remember. Good job sissy you nailed it again, I always love commenting on you and listening to your take on the movies.❤

I was an 8 year old kid sitting in the Colvin Theater in WNY in '74 watching "Earthquake", which was tricked out with the Sensurround process. The film's poster declared it 'An Event...' , and to my 8 year old self, it really was. '74 was a great Heston/Kennedy one-two punch w/"Airport '75" & "Earthquake". In the '70's, Heston was in two other movies that I lump in the Disaster genre- "Two Minute Warning" and "Gray Lady Down". Heston's great, but thank goodness Spielberg got his way concerning "Jaws"- it's just perfectly cast, in the early stages I've read that both Lee Marvin and Sterling Hayden were considered for the role of Quint, but honestly I don't think anyone but Robert Shaw can be seen in that role.
Now on to your "The Towering Inferno" vid - which BTW is currently free on UA-cam Movies.

Hi Stacia ! I think The Towering Inferno has aged better than Earthquake but Earthquake is still a fun melodrama. I lived in Santa Monica & my dwelling shook for about one minute in the intense Northridge quake of 1994. That quake had a foreshock a week earlier. Most Earthquakes I was in create a rolling effect. The 94 one was like a pounding as the building bounced up & down & everything on the shelves fell. Fortunately the building held. No power for 3 days but the phone lines worked. Scary experience.

I wasn’t there but I remember when Northridge happened and all the destruction it caused. I couldn’t imagine being in it. I’m glad you made it through it. I lived in Monterey in the late 70s and I only remember on earthquake and it was only about a 4. I agree with you that The Towering Inferno aged better but they are both still fun to watch.

Sometimes you have to sacrifice your hearing for the love of movies! You got to learn that lesson at a young age. 😂

No! The story about Charlton Heston..was Yes Universal Studios Had Heston on the Radar of playing Chief Brody in Jaws, but Steven Spielberg ask Producers Richard Zanuck and David Brown not let this happen..because it would turn into Charlton Heston the Actor killing the Shark! Yes Heston at the radar, but Spielberg said he didn’t want Heston staring in Jaws..costarring a shark!?!?! But when Spielberg was Directing 1941 ..Spielberg ask Charlton Heston to be in the film..Being still Butthurt ..Heston said No!

Earthquake without any doubt was truly a horrible film. Logic was Not Earthquake main goal…One sequence shows the hapless actors descend…That’s Right after a 9 plus earthquake ..these dumb clucks who directed and wrote Earthquake go into an UNDERGROUND PARKING DECK! Underground..of course there would be after shocks..that would trap these saps, and of course the Damn would collapse and of course Death Follows. 🥴🤔
One of the stupidest sequence was at the end of the Quake..During the end of the quake..the Director Mark Robson and Screenwriter Mario Puzo(Yep Godfather Author, but horrible screen writer) ok..back to the mess..A Dumb Cluck during the end of the quake..decided he needed to go into his house and turn off The Gas..SMOKING A CIGARETTE! Who wrote this shit? Of Course The house explodes!
Eva Gardner who was 52 Years old in 1974 and playing her father in Earthquake was Lorne Bonanza Greene who 59 Years Old while filming Earthquake!!!???? That’s right Ava was 52, and Lorne..playing her daddy was 59! Don’t add up does it! Earthquake had that cheesy Sound effects along with some truly lots of concrete that looks like fluffy styrofoam! Lots of it! When I was a teen..I hated Earthquake, and still today..I Truly despise EarthCrap.
The only thing good about Earthquake was John Williams score..it truly rises up above the crude on screen..The Towering Inferno was truly a well made film, and very good quality Effects!
