Angela, I own a Melco, too. You have 2 of them; awesome! I have been putting off doing the small number of caps waiting for me so thanks for the inspiration! And yes, i vote for the ear protection, especially with 2 Melcos in one room. My pup runs out of the room when the Melco is sewing.

For a complete beginner with no embroidery machines, what would you recommend for me to buy to do men's sports hats? a lot of the designs would be offset on the front and maybe something wrote on the back of the ball cap.

I was laughing so hard the whole time lol. I do hundreds of hats at work a day on a 15 head tajima and I also run a 8 head swf machine too so I can hoop hats in my sleep !! I so badly wanted to come help you lol! Its hard watching and not being able to be right there helping!

He immediately knew that I was calling him based on your YT channel...I can say that speaking with Todd sold me on Melco for many reasons. I would not ever had known about him without your videos...just securing funding as I type for purchase next week.
My lingering question is about hoops....should I go with the hoops offered in the "Jasmina" package or go with Mighty Hoops for a newb enbroiderer. Thanks for your advice...keep up the great work!!!
I spoke with Todd too and yes he is awesome! I love Mighty Hoops and in many of her videos she loves them too. I believe Todd will switch out 3 and do Mighty hoops.

I want to be able to do adult t-shirts up to 3x or so, also it would be nice to have one that has 2 in 1 for sewing as well. Do u have any advice for me? Is it possible to find something like that $2000 and under or am I dreaming? lol
Hi! Sorry that would not be possible. I also alway suggest having 1 machine specific for embroidery and 1 for sewing... less wear and tear on the machine.

No, I used 75/11 but there is also the 80 size ones!

Quick note: I use 75/11 also but I think 80/12 is better for structured, like Richardson caps? :)

You did great!!!!! So did you get 4 hats done today????? Were you able to do bith machines at the same time? Maybe get your family to undo all the cap clips on the back for you to help get it done faster... Riley might like to do that...only a few mins once on the machine but the hooping will take longer especially if you are doing it as your stitching ...the machine will beat you at first and keeping up with 2 machines oh my lol.....its so quick maybe only use one of the machines so you can keep up...Maybe as you get it down a goal of 12 a day to get through the 80 without working 14 hours a day....lol just a nice amount a day...Don't try to do to many in a day that you are burning out and hate hats....good lick hope it went good for you today
