The best thing I’ve found that saves energy is to have lights on at night and have your lights turn off during the hottest part of the day keeps temps way down just do a 180 switch I had plants at all stages they seemed unaffected when I changed times
Arizona. And god damn it hot as shit already. Last summer was 115* for over a month straight. I wanted to die as I work outdoors. 10-12 daily. Fml

Organic organic organic! Re- use soil, compost, and organic amendments go a long ways. Top dress every 2-3 weeks and water that's pretty efficient. Yes new lights are waaaaaay better

I don't even top feed that often anymore I've reused my soil for 3 years obviously I re amend but not as much as when I started the soil mix I think it's so alive that it almost feeds itself on minimum input

I ran into problems when I tried that it changes the ph for a little bit then reacts and changes back to high ph ph down by general hydroponics is cheap 1 quart last you a long while and is like 10$
White vinegar also works great and is cheap!

@Dan-ln8el same problem it's highly reactive so your soil ph will quickly raise after using water phed with vinagar

There are battery packs available for solar panels. Not very cheap but also not too expensive. Just saying because you didnt mention.
