Intro is absolute gold.
Stone has been my hero since Ten. I’ve never had the opportunity to meet him, but it’s awesome that he seems like such a down to earth guy.
I just ran into him recently and had no idea what to say or ask. Make sure you're a bit better prepared than I was :)
@@spitsmuis4772 lol. I’d probably do the same. Plus, I’m sure he’s used to starstuck PJ fans.
Erm... Ryan just out here chatting with Stone Gossard about moving house... This is just awesome Sunday viewing 🙌🫶🙌
So wholesome, two people with hearts of gold sharing what they love.
Its crazy that Stone is chill enough to spend time chatting and jamming with you
Stone is unequivocally a chill dude 100% of the time every time 🍻 we picked the right band!
These are my favorite videos. Thank you so much for sharing with us. And thank you Stone for being so awesome and down to earth.
These videos with Stone are great. The insight and the humbleness its awesome. So sad I couldn’t see them in Berlin, I love the album so much
Went to the Sept 4 show at MSG. Floor seats on Stones side. INCREDIBLE show. Great crowd. Stone and Mike are so much fun to watch and hear.
So awesome that you got a follow up lesson.
Absolutely love Upper Hand.
was at dublin gig brilliant stone amazing guitarist
When yall start meeting up at Buc-ee's I will be impressed....Cant imagine how ya feel...playing PJ all these years and now You are literally friends with Stone. Congrats...you deserve all this success.
Upper hand is my favorite song on the album. The choruses are incredible. The song has like basically five parts to it, and then it just rocks out at the end
it still amazes me how much the album flows. and is an album not just some songs. it's number 6 on my PJ list now
Ty for these videos. Too great
Such a great video
This is so much fun.
I've said this a couple of times before and meant it every time, and now I'm saying it again: This is the greatest thing you've ever done on this channel, and you deserve all the good stuff that's happening :)
Unofficial official reporter of reports from the field. Dublin was indeed phenomenal. As was Stone's special little dance, which M and I still hope you'll let him know was greatly enjoyed and appreciated :)
Also, I've been trying to figure out Upper Hand in open E ever since he teased it in the last video. I've been scratching my head a lot. Now I know why :) :)
Hope you're all settling in well at the new place :)
Also, we're 2 away from a really big woohoo that's very dear to me, can you guess which? :)
This was awesome! Black Sabbath, meow mix meets Hendrix Chords was hilarious. 58 years old? I still think of them in their late 20’s 😅. Thanks Ryan.
Can't explain how much I love these. Thanks to you both for making them. Just one request, try and get Stone to call you on something other than Zoom so we can hear his guitar and get him to turn the blur filter thingy off so we can see what he's playing properly (I know you show us anyway). I'll still be happy if he can't. Keep them coming. Awesome 😊
Soooo good Ryan! Really enjoying playing along to this! Stone is such a legend 🎸
Nice work Ryan. Good content.
I would be grateful if Mr. Stone Gossard could teach us all the Pearl Jam - Alive chorus once and for all since it's unique, and it seems like everyone on the internet is playing it differently!
I really enjoyed this! I didn’t realize I was smiling the whole time I was watching, until it was over and my cheeks were sore😂 Thank you!
Wow, how cool is this… Thanks!
The Temple of the Dog song that Stone was referring to with the open A tuning was Four Walled World by the way.
This video is simply joyous and makes me feel so happy. Thank you both ♥
Wow 😍, you’ve got Stone in your Boot of life!,so great to see.
Lots of inspiration, from Jeannette 〰️✨➰✨〰️
This made my Sunday ❤ Thank you Ryan and Stone!!!
Pretty sure he was talking about the Dumble amps! I think they played a dumble on dark matter in the studio! I saw stone in Fort Worth playing HoneyBee Amps! I think he was playing the "Belief" model which is a handmade custom order recreation of John Mayer's Dumble amp!
That's what I thought also. Alex Dumble passed away sometime in thr last few years tho
@@EddieHill Yes but Andrew Watt is one of the people who has a Dumble amp. They used it to record the record. Stone was playing the HoneyBee amp live in 22 though before Dark Matter was finished too so he probably likes the sound.
Ryan, you’re like one step away from hanging with Stone in person! I can’t imagine the feeling this brings you just being able to FaceTime with the riff master himself.
against the waves, in hiding, 20th century, all those yesterdays, sheepish, alive, animal, daughter, knife fight, on the level, thin air, once, breath, sweet al george, secret girl, lift footsteps is quite a list of songs to write for one human being. and that's leaving a ton out obvi. love ya stone nation. miss ya shawn
Great video as always! I would really love if you make campfire versions of this one and scared of fear. For those of us who play occasionally and don't want to retune the guitar for one song. Love this kind of interviews/tutorials
Whoa! I want this intro song on my Phone now hahaha , very funny lesson
Dear Ryan for the sake of you editing these, tell Stone use open mic to pick every sound from his room next time! 🙏
Love you both and thank so much 🤗🤗
I'm moving two households to a third place and dealing with a lot of difficult stuff in the meantime, so why not watch a guitar tutorial video without any guitar knowledge in the middle of the turmoil? You two just made my day, thanks a lot!
specialy sparkly sauce.... it was great show! thanks for the tutorial ~ this is awesome. following now.
This is the best. Thank you.
Dude this is wonderful! Thanks for sharing this Ryan. If you get a chance let Stone know we need some more live Mankind or Don’t Gimme No Lip this fall…..been way too long.
Ok that’s funny there must have been some subconscious Let Stone Sing reference during the chorus.
this is awesome sauce. more please :) and Thank You Ryan. 'reasonably do-able' - fantastic advice. thanks again Ryan.
“The new songs are playing themselves”
I wouldn’t know Stone - the London gig got cancelled with 24 hrs to go 😢
Hope everyone’s safe & well.
What a cool dude. Ryan, I know you've covered hunger strike but it seems no one can agree on how its played. Maybe stone would find it interesting to shed some light on one of the great great songs from 1991. And what a cool video.
Can you ask Stone about Paul Solger's influence of guitar? Paul played with numerous Seattle bands
2 COOL DUDES
Al Caiola Epiphone! Also, Stone is playing Amplified Nation amps. Stone mentions maybe doing something older next..Can we get a lesson on the Once verse from the man himself!?
Awesome video! He seems such a humble , genuine guy. Are you never tempted to ask him to turn off background noise suppression so we can hear his guitar? (edit, I wrote this comment before you got the section taking about it)
givin old coffee talks vibes
Ryan, the guitar has to be a 68’ Epiphone casino elitist! That’s the one that has the bigsby.
Was he talking about Two-Rock amps? Dumble is gone so I can't figure out which amp maker he's hinting at.
I hope you wished him a happy birthday
Ryan, PLEASE ask Stone about Gremmie Out of Control from Ohana next time you have him on! 😂 Also, I dont know what part of NC you're in, but I hope all is well after the storm. I live in Raleigh, but have family in Asheville and they're hanging tough.
Love when Stone comes on. So fun.
Doesn’t Zoom have a setting for “original sound for musicians”?
I challenge you to instruct stone Gossard about the intricacies of zoom settings when you’re halfway out the door to go lay hardwood floor at the house you’re moving to and you get a text that says “hey wanna zoom in 15 minutes?” Oh yeah I also had the flu 😄😄
@@RyanLendt I’d love to help you both out. Shoot me Stone’s info and I’ll work with him to get it all set up!!
Stone is using Amplified Nation amps - based on Dumbles
Stone doesn't know he's got Amplified Nation amps out now, nor the name of Dumble? We are never short on amazement from the guitar god that didn't start until he was a teen, and acts like he barely has any idea what he's doing. It's the Stone Act
Just wait until Pearl Jam learns Got to Give and lets that monster out live. And Richards' Tuning is the best for grooving. So glad Watt practically handed it back to them
Forgot that Stone suggested Gilligan's Island last time 😂
Dumble amp!
looks like stone is playing some sort of dumble clones these days. can't see what brand, but they are definitely dumble looking amps on this current tour.
Dumble?
Meow mix….😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂 Why Keith Richards...😂😂😂
Ryan I’ve admired Stone as a guitar player since I was 12 years old, I’m 32 now. He’s one of the best songwriters.
7/22/24. The cloth of pro choice and Planned Parenthood, the cloth of baby k**lers.
@@RyanLendt Tell him I said hello in the next video, it would make me super happy! Thanks for all you do for us my man.
7/22/24. Hey Stone “Planned Parenthood “ Gossard, what would Jesus think of what you try to do to unborn babies?
I like how Stone is almost like a regular guest now.
Hope he gets more chances to meet with you. It’s great!
i don't think I have to tell you that I like that too :) :)
