***** It's not about the age, because a lot of Elder men look really nice, i mean... Mr Sammel has that kind of face that we are used to see in evil characters xD i mean he has that kind of "agressive" look... his nose, his jaw and maybe the way he looks, but i find him so atractive for some reason... And btw, i wouldnt worry for liking elder guys if they are this gorgeous :D
Agree, and sometimes i can't help feeling attracted to evil characters (like Hannibal Lecter from the tv show, *oh god*)

when i first saw Richard Sammel in the 1st episode i thought i already saw this guy and i remembered he was the german who got beaten to death by the "The Bear Jew" in Inglorious Basterds. i'm a fan now. a good actor. : )

THEY were amazing characters, Sammel was epitome of evil and Bradley such a hero/survivor

Watch Richard in a French series called "un french village" on HULU. The subtitles are in English...he manages to make you like and see the humanity in a bad character..Extraordinary acting by him in this series sort of the way Bryan Cranston make you like Walt in Breaking Bad.

It's Mr. Filch (Harry Potter Series--David Bradley) and Sergeant Werner Rachtman (Inglourious Basterds--Richard Sammel)! Those are the films that first saw those actors in!
You might have seen Sammel earlier if you saw Casino Royale before Inglorious Basterds.
So we have Walder Frey as vampire hunter and the German sergeant from Inglorious Basterds as evil Nazi vampire.

I hate David Bradley's character in GoT, but he's cool as hell in The Strain.
Sammel has that German/Austrian creepiness like Hanz Lander from Inglorious Basterds
I think a lot of the hate directed towards his character in GoT is because of that one big thing he is responsible for, the actor however, and the performance Bradley gives as Walder Frey is masterful.

+xtc lol He is a regular vampire, but the Master selected him as his emissary.
From a logistic stand point, having a Strigoi who is supposed to masquerade as a human have a middle finger that is half a finger longer than his other fingers would not work as well as a spy. From the show's perspective it also would reduce the time and cost needed to make up the actor with the finger.
