I’m so glad you finally rode Kali! I used to work on this ride so it was awesome to see. They’ve actually turned down some of the water features since reopening I believe due to Covid, so people used to get a lot wetter. At the top of the upramp there is supposed to be a geyser that the raft goes straight over that usually gets people soaked. Glad you enjoyed it though!

Rebecca Barone As someone who used to work on Kali, maybe you could answer a question I've always wanted to know, at least about Kali. What is in the water on water rides, is it chlorinated? The way everybody seems to want to know what's in anything that touches or goes into their body nowadays, I'm really surprised they don't have more people asking this question, especially since so many people expose their kids to it. I don't mean to seem like a buzzkill when it comes to water rides, but I mean, you get it in your face sometimes. If your clothes get soaked you wear it around on your skin till it dries. I've wondered if there's chlorine, if it could ruin your clothes? I find it a little disturbing if I get hit in the face with it, or my clothes get really soaked and I'm stuck wearing them for hours.

For what it is, it’s a fun ride. Did it twice in a row the first time I rode it in 2011. Good way to cool off on a hot day. And its message about deforestation is still there
Now you gotta ride the DCA version, the Grizzly River Run
DCA's Grizzy River is waaaaay better. Kali River is more scenic. I'll give it that. But the ride itself is a little too slow for me and my family. Maybe if I had small kids i can see it being perfect for younger ones. It is quite lovely though, and relaxing. But I agree with u that KP should definitely try Grizzly next time in DCA.
You should do the Popeye ride at Universal that is similar to Kali River Rapids. We got soaked!
Kali doesn't even come close to greatness when you compare the two. Popeye ride is 1000 times better. Kali is a space waster!

I have been on several times. Each time my buddies got soaked as we always landed under the falls. I love this ride ❤️
When we rode Kali River Rapids, our float stopped right at the water sprays there at the end and my husband was stuck getting sprayed.....it was so hilarious!!!
I love Kali River Rapids so much! I think they shut off some of the water features temporarily due to COVID because there was a literal geyser at the bottom of the drop that your boat would go right over and that is always were I would get drenched!
Glad to see you are trying out Kali! It’s the kind of ride you should ride in the morning. It’s always less crowded and in the summer heat you dry off in 10 minutes in the Florida heat. I also honestly almost never get that wet.
Yes!! Agreed with other comments on here. Some of the water features I think are turned off because two years ago I feel like there was water shooting everywhere!
Great ride! I have always gotten soaked. You got off easy. Years ago the ride had a place to put your bags in the center of the circle with a plastic cover to protect your belongings. Suppose to keep shoes on. We would sneak our sneakers in there so not to have wet feet all day.
Yes, ride it every time!! Last time I rode it, I got soaked by the jets at the end!
Nice video Kyle! It was a day of firsts for you. We have been on Kali many times. The water has been turned down since covid but still a good time. We have stayed dry and we have gotten soaked. Fun either way. Good job on winning that game! I can't believe there were 3 winners all at the same time! I didn't think anyone ever won.

Like the safari, this is one of those Animal Kingdom opening day attractions that had its story toned down to increase its appeal. The set pieces are still there, but there used to be a clearer focus on preserving natural environments and fighting against illegal deforestation. The queue had clearer messaging about your planned tour route being interrupted by an illegal logging operation. It's still a really fun ride.
Fun! Thanks for sharing. Haven't been on that in years and it was a soaker then. I think it has calmed down by the looks of it. We got so wet we haven't been back on it.
You might want to change your mind once you start going into winter in Florida. It sounds funny but it only takes about a year to get acclimated to the Florida temperature and when it starts in the 60s the last thing you wanna do is have to go on that ride Kyle. There are people in South Florida that wear mittens stocking cap and winter coat and call sick into work if it’s to cold for them. Thank you Kyle, take care and be safe!
I have been waiting a long time for you to go on this ride. I can't believe it took you so long to try it! I love Kali. Yes, you should ride Kali every time. My family does. If it's cold, we just change our clothes if we get wet. If it's warm, we just walk around and dry off.
You got off easy. It's hit or miss how wet you get, but with fuller boats, there's a lot more water entering the boat in the rapids section and the drop.
One of my favorite rides. I think you get soaked more when the raft is full. I usually wear a poncho.
Kali is one of my favorite rides in all of WDW! It's super fun and refreshing, especially when it's super hot out. Having a raft that isn't totally full with people definitely effects your "soaked" factor. I've ridden it a few times where I've had to change into a new set of clothes because of how soaked I got, especially if you're going down that hill backwards lol still worth it though! Definitely a must-do if the line isn't too long!

I think closed toe sandals are ok. When the raft is fully loaded, you get drenched. I've been on it. Its fun.
My 4 year old son really enjoyed this video and the rapids ride. We will be there in December and hoping we run into you. He is hoping to jump around with you, in fact we all are (my husband, 4 year old, and twin 2 year old girls). We're a big bunch and it would be an honor.
Pass on the Kali River Rapids . The best rapid's ride I've ever been on was at Storyland in New Hampshire . Everyone got soaked! Sorry, but this one may be the only Disney ride that doesn't win in my book.

I rode it for the first time last Thursday and it makes sense that some features were off like other comments said because it was kind of tame. The queue was very cool!
One of my favorite rides in Animal kingdom!! The first time I rode it was back in the 90s when my parents took us to Disney. Now I love getting on it with my kiddos!!

It's my favorite ride at animal kingdom. I would like to go on this ride at night when it's dark cause you get to see more and ride everest at night too. Also if it's open ride it during or right before a rain storm
So sometimes at the top of the lift there is a guyser. My husband got it right down his back. And If you go down the drop 100% backwards, you can get tidal waved. I wish the ride was longer but it’s a fun one to cool off!

Yes been on it a few times. Got drenched last time I rode it but not as bad as Islands’ Bilge Rat Barges one. Kali has great theming.
That always has such a long line, I never make it on it. I passed by it just two weeks ago and was like...crap... I forgot about this! haha
Bluto's Barges is WAY better for soaking good fun! bwah hahaha!!
So glad you went on Kali! I haven't been on in years. But I'm hoping to go in late October. I usually would start with Kali in the morning, then go on Everest, dinosaur and the safari before closing.

I like the rapid ride but what you don’t know sometimes you could get even Wetter it is a lot of fun it is really short it is good to go on a hot day and Everest is a lot of fun I like animal kingdom it’s pretty good job Kyle

Been on Kali River Rapids a long time ago, remember getting completely soaked. Fun time especially when its hot.
They have this type ride at all major them parks that I have ever been to. I have rode it at Disney World, Universal, Bush Gardens in Virginia, and Carowinds in NC.
Loved this vlog. Kyle , I was excited with anticipation waiting for you to get soaked. I thing the weight in the boat also has is a factor of how big the splashes are. The more riders in the boat probably would make it splash bigger. I have been on a ride like this YEARS ago back when Nashville still had Opryland. It was called Grizzly River Rampage. It was longer than Kali. Excited that you won a prize.
Yes, you should ride every time! This is my dad's favorite ride at wdw. We once rope dropped this ride and went around as many times as we could without getting off!
I just laughed this whole episode at your reaction to the ride, can't believe that you never rode this! My family rides this every time, sometimes back to back to back! It is not as bad as the water rides at islands of adventure, this one is usually pretty safe.
Kali is my favorite ride in ALL of Disney. So much fun watching you on the ride!

Kali River Rapids is a must do. It was my daughters favorite ride.
I think my friend and I had to wait 2 hrs to go on! But that was 11 years ago. I was disappointed because I think it was the shortest raft ride I had ever been on. The raft ride at Universal (there! I said it!) is much better. So, you waited to go on because you were afraid to get wet? Oh Kyle, Kyle, Kyle! All of us think of you as a sweetheart. BUT, you’re not made of sugar. You won’t melt. 😀😀😀
It was so much better when it first opened. The logging scene had lots of real fire and smoke. They also didn't have the geyser turned on at the top of the lift - that's another place where you would get wet. But it has always been a little too short.

Thanks for making this video! I was a Cast Member at WDW for several years and have never been on this ride either. I never really thought about why I haven't been on, but it's also the only one I haven't been on. It's going to be my goal to ride this in the next year haha.
Rapids rides tend to get you wetter when the raft is full of people. Having a full raft makes the raft more weighted down and so catches waves better.
My family loves Kali River Rapids lol It's actually one of my dad's favorite rides. We always did it as the last ride of the day so we can get soaked then go back to the hotel haha
Glad u enjoyed it, but next time u are in DCA, u should try Grizzly River Run. It is waaay more fun! It's not as scenic as KRR.. but the ride itself is way more fun. I dont think that's even debatable. But then again, if you just want a relaxing scenic water ride, then maybe KRR is just perfect for you!
The cats are because of the tigers in the forest surrounding the river. The rapids are so bad because the forest is being cut down and the water runoff isn’t controlled by the root system.
This makes me miss the rapids ride we used to have up here in PA at HersheyPark. It was so much fun and they randomly closed it years ago to refurb it but just never brought it back.
I haven't been on this one but I've been on hong kong Disney rapids, Hong Kong ocean park rapids, Singapore universal rapids and Japan universal rapids, they are all very cool. (I got turned into a soaked sponge)
I actually rode on kali back in 2002 and I loved it. The fog and how it was set up was awesome but last time I was there think they had flames on the ride. I just subscribed to your channel. If I were you definitely keep riding that ride. Another ride u could possible do is pop eyes which is in island of adventure area their log flume rides in that area I think one was dudley rip falls will get you definitely soaked lol . However as long as your having fun that is all that matters.
Fun! Kali is a good time.....but FYI, you were lucky you didn't get soaked! You never know on Kali 😳 That's what makes it so much fun!

You should carry a couple of cans of starbucks in your back pack. It's allowed. And then ask for a cup of ice.
I have ridden it. I got so wet the first time, it was about equivalent to being thrown fully clothed into a pool. On the big drop, one person in a full boat is likely to get fully soaked, on my first ride it was me. Didn't like it quite as much as Popeye and Bluto's at IOA, which lasts a bit longer, but still super fun
Ride it again in the Summer. You get soaked. They turn it up so the water splashes higher
If you go back to California Adventure you should go on the Grizzly River Run. It's a lot like the Kali. Lots of fun and you do get soaked. 😁
Actually went on kali last year September on my very last day of our Disney trip. I was so excited to ride and when I got into the raft, I missed a step and sprained my ankle!! The cast members were so concerned and I told them I still wanted to ride for sure! So I rode and everything. When I got off they told me there was a paramedic to see me and I refused and told them I was completely fine! I totally was fine..... until the swelling kicked in and I couldn’t walk! I had to go to the first aide station and they gave me a wheel chair for the day :( I felt so pathetic bc my husband had to wheel me around the whole last day but we got to basically skip the lines with the wheelchair! Highlight of my day was getting to ride dinosaur 5x In a row, my fav ride !!
We've ridden it before. I don't remember getting too wet. We went on a warm day though.

I’ve never ridden Kali River Rapids and I think it might be the only ride I’ve never been on either. I’ve always been too scared to get soaked, but it’s nice to see that isn’t the case. I’ll def have to try it out next time I’m there!!

Kali River Rapids is fun... first time I went on ity husband was running his mouth giving the other group on the ride a hard time for wearing rain ponchos.... karma came back and smacked us hard... i didnt have a dry spot on me lol. Of course that was 12 years ago when the ride vehicle was packed.... its like playing russian roulette on the drops haha I've already watched 3 of 4 episodes of the Whales documentary. It is really good.
That hill you went down and spun CAN get you soaked. But it depends on the weight in the vehicle. If you are only half or less full, you won’t get soaked.
KP- you need to ride the water rides at Universal....My son when he was young made me ride them 5 times each in one day. They are longer, great drops and you get wet just the right amount. Would love to see you and Jo Jo together go
Kali River Rapids I think is underrated. Disney needs more water rides. I like the queue it’s a pretty long queue. I’m kind of surprised they didn’t do any interactive type deal in the queue. The view of Everest is one of my favorite parts of Kali. There used to be fire up where all the logs were and you could feel it and smell it. I feel like KRR used to be a longer ride too. I feel like the line for Everest always took forever but now does not. I never feel like I’m in Disney when I go into Dinoland. I’ve been watching a lot of Jojos video for a while now maybe I’ll run into you guys in the parks one day. I’m going next week. I have yet to see you or Jojo do Kilimanjaro Safaris. You should do that and stream it. I challenge you guys to ride it as many times as possible. I’ve done it like five times in one day with Everest four or five times (didn’t do dinoland then or Rafikis planet, and Pandora was not open yet).
I rode it with family members, and we got soaked (dripping underwear). I think with more weight in the boat, more water comes in. Also, I thought that the center section had covered storage.
I have never gone on Kali. Now that I saw you don’t get so wet I’ll definitely be on it the next time I make it to DAK. Thanks Kyle.
This ride isn't as bad as the one at Universal that is just like Kali. You really get drenched. But on a hot summer day it is refreshing.
I rode Kali River Rapids ride in 2017 at Disneyworld. It was quite fun! I just remember wishing the ride lasted longer.
You won a prize that costs under a dollar for $5. Woo hoo. As to the rapids, you get wetter with a fuller, heavier boat. They can adjust the water levels, too, based on the weather.
Everest is probably my favorite ride in Disney World!!
I WENT ON THIS AT THE DISABILITY ENTRANCE AND YOU GET SOAKED ON THE RETURN TO THE DOCK BECAUSE THEY USE A HIGH PRESSURE SPAY TO GET THE BOAT OVER TO THE DOCK. ITS GREAT ON A HOT DAY. LOL
The Popeye ride at Universal is very similar to Kali! But I always get DRENCHED on the popeye ride 😂 Kali always seems to be hit or miss, I’ve had the water come into the raft and straight into my lap before 😭😂
caught this ride at rope drop one of my first trips to Disney and omg I froze cause I got supper soaked and it was cold .... October .... ack still like the ride though

First time going on Kali River Rapids I barely got wet but my twin brother got DEMOLISHED. Honestly the best thing that could have happened.
Never been on the Animal Kingdom version, however I've been on the Raging Rapids at Kennywood Park - Pittsburgh, PA and Thunder Canyon at Cedar Point - Sandusky, OH - exact same ride!

Kali River Rapids I got soaked but it's not that bad. Popeyes ride in Universal you get more soaked. The ride has a message of conservation and environmental protection so that's interesting to think about.

I think they control the speed. It can be stingy, jerky and get you soaked. That was really slow. They usually are standing there selling rain capes. We’ve had to purchase dry shirts and walk around with wet underwear. That was not rocking at all.🤓😎😂🌴.

I just made it home last night after 8 days in WDW. I made an attempt at vlogging, so I do have ride footage of Kali, but I haven't looked at any of it yet. I do know that I got drenched. 3 rounds on Everest only dried me off like 50%.
From your instagram, it looks like we were in the same park at the same time at a few points. I was hoping to be able to say hi, but it never worked out.
We rode this after a rain storm in July, 2 things-1) it was great because we were already wet 2) Everyone had the same idea so we had to wait a while!
I have been on this ride several times and I’m happy to say I have not been drenched one time! 😆
