Got a deal on a davinci 1.0, guy thought he bricked it switching to Repetier. I had it working in about 2 hours. I strongly suggest swapping the hot end, this lil machine is still capable
I'm looking to update/upgrade my "new" 1.0 and I would really love to see what you've done. There are so many options now of what you can do hardware wise and I want to see what routes you took.
This underextrusion problem, you mention in your video can be actually linked to bad extruder settings. I did everything You said, and also had an underextrusion problem, it turned out my 'Compatible material diameter' setting was set to 2.75 while i was using 1.75. I corrected it and everything worked like a charm, without crazy slow speed etc. If anyone has this problem, check if it's properly set.
0.35 print height is absurd for a .4 nozzle. I set it to .2 layer height and print speed is 40mm/s, travel is 100mm/s. This printer at first sight was really chintzy (I'm tuning it for a friend) But cura really made all the difference. In fact, Cura is so far above all the competition in terms of quality and price (FREE), I don't know why anyone would ever use anything else at all.
After about 4 years running the DaVinci AiO, the inevitable finally happened, that plastic wrapped wiring harness(00:28) got caught between the blade-like target and the print bed top Z-axis sensor and cut a wire in two. No more heated extruder until I managed to solder a wire link to repair it. 00:37 shows a completely different wiring harness device, so I guess you had the same issue happen to your printer. This factory-installed, long, dangling harness needs a rubber band to hold it away from the sensor and it's "guillotine". Just so you know.....
I had the original wire harness crumble a couple years ago during an overnight print and woke up to several wires melted together under the nozzle. electronics all fried / shorted out. I've had about a dozen or so XYZ Davinci Pros.
Thanks for posting this video. I have a Davinci 2.0 Duo. Is it still possible to control the print settings by exporting the G-code through Cura or is this just a Pro thing?
I've got a Davinci Pro running version 2.0.1. I used your settings, and after slicing in Cura and importing the gcode, XYZ gives me a single layer of what looks like infill in the shape of my project and says it'll take over 247 hours to print it. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Will XYZ show the project properly or do I just have to trust that I sliced it correctly in Cura? Would it be easier to just load it to my SD card (which I've already hacked to be on an extension outside the printer casing)? Or did XYZ just screw with users again by making things more difficult with the latest software update? I've already reported two bugs to them, so it wouldn't surprise me to find they made it harder for people to use other software with their printers.
Firstly, thanks for all your hard work... This is what makes this community so good! I tried your settings but unfortunately they didn't work for me. I exported the .gcode and opened it in XYZware Pro and sent it to the printer. The printer then started heating up to about 191°C (extruder) and 41°C (plate), but then the printer gets stuck and nothing more happens. It just shows the temperature but doesn't do anything further... Do you know of this problem and is there a fix? Thanks again :)

Interesting Video. Congrats! I have a question regarding printing with Cura using a Da Vinci Jr 1: how if possible, switch lights on/off ? I tryied to insert in the scripts start G-code M355 s1 for lights on and M355 s0 for lights off without any luck. Could you ENLIGHT me please 🙏 ?
hello my english is something bad sorry but you could put some link of the gcode and the fff serious for the printer xyz davinci 1.0 pro would be very grateful excellent video thank you
Cura is used to generate the Gcode only, Cura can't transfer the print to the printer, only XYZware can transfer the print over USB/wifi. You can't have both open at the same time when trying to transfer because Cura will compete with XYZware for the COM port that the printer is using, not allowing XYZware full control of the port.
@@crazyAlexander23 The XYZ printers I have used do not have a USB drive slot. Transfer the file over a USB cable connected between the PC and printer.
I've been using blue painters tape the past couple years, love it. This kind is available at pretty much every store I've ever been to, but check the inside of the cardboard roll to look for "#2090", there are other variations like 2020, 2060 and they don't grip prints nearly as well. Formula 2080 was acceptable, but 2090 is particularly good. amzn.to/3vTTTBG

@@clemsmith2253 You communicate with the XYZ printer using the same XYZ software and USB cable as before. The difference is that instead of loading a STL file in XYZware, (to create a file the printer can understand) we are loading the STL file in CURA instead. CURA will give us a GCODE file that we open in XYZware as if it were a saved file from XYZware.

How do I figure out my printer's GCode, printhead settings, and extruder settings?
2:33 for printer setup
2:49 for print speed / extrusion etc.
These gcode settings didn’t work with my Pro 1.0. I reverted back to my previous settings and all is well.
Hi. Could you please tell us wich code has you been using?
I upload the gcode to xyzware and it says printer mismatch for me when I click print. did you encounter this?
I do have u been able to find a fix
They have gotten a little better since this video was made……(just a little).
What software do you use to initiate the print? XYZ or CURA?
Cura only creates the Gcode, XYZware sends it to the printer and tells the printer to start.
I have to do something more to the gcode if i want to print It from the internal sdcard? Im using a DaVinci aio. Tia
Hi! Do you know a procedure to add a DaVinci Pro 1.0 to Cura?!?
Besides the one in this video?
There is a tool called "miniMover" that eliminates XYZWare altogether. github.com/reality-boy/miniMover if you want to build it.
xyz reds g code?
Thanks for the post! But dang... 35mm/s is literally half the speed of what im used to in printing
