- Back at it again to revisit this classic AMV of mine! I think this was one of my first RWBY videos to really blow up in popularity way back when, so I hope I did it justice this second time around.
I don't own RWBY and it is the property of Rooster Teeth.

The Original was what got me to watch RWBY AMV's and this just brings back the memories!!! Also makes me want to re-watch RWBY for like the 10th time.

Thank you! I made an effort to use some of my old trademark editing techniques in the remake (namely the eye zoom transitions) but it felt good to go at it with the skills I didn’t have the first time around.
I believe your old one was what got me into RWBY AMV's, and especially into your channel in the first place, so it holds a very important place for me. And I'm not sure if it's just my disdain and disappointment in current RWBY, but all the new scenes just... don't do anything to me, for me. Your editing was superb as always, it just doesn't flash me like the classic.
Now I think I need to watch the original again. :3
I watched both of them back to back, and at first thought the new one was much worse, but then realized, like you said, I think it's more because of which volumes the scenes are from. 7 and 8 just really don't do anything for me, 6 not all that much either, so if there's two amvs and one of them only consists of scenes from the new volumes I guess I was bound to not like it as much. Thankfully the original still holds up and isn't going anywhere, so I can just keep rewatching that one :)

Though I must say, after watching the original again, that in my opinion, the matching of lyrics to scenes, and editing to the beat was just better in the original. There were such iconic moments. Yet again, that might be bias due to the scenes used.
@@olafgurke4699 No no, I get what you mean! Perhaps part of it's due to the newer animation being a bit slow/stiff? Of course the first volumes weren't perfect quality wise, but they were a lot more lively I feel, and that might affect how well they fit into amvs. Objects also had a lot more weight/impact, which would work nicely synced to a beat, and is another thing I think might be missing in the new volumes. As well as the originals having a lot more fun with their characters, creating a lot of those iconic moments you are talking about, which were also geat at matching to lyrics (like you said). Of course I might also be affected by bias, since the majority of comments seems to prefer this new version (or maybe they just couldn't resist the word play I dunno)
@@hq1122 All valid points. Maybe its also that, aside from fun, the old scenes seem to have more love in them? Like, you can tell Monty loved his craft, and everyone watching his vids can tell. The new animations are much cleaner, but they almost feel soulless in comparison, I think. It's almost as if several factors contribute to making new RWBY feel worse than the old one, even though the animation itself became better. Yet especially combat became much stiffer, as you said, it's less fluid. Less focus on amazing choreography, or teamwork, or anything really.

been a while prime, its an improvement over the original for sure. The pure beat parts werent really my thing but when the lyrics where there, the scene seletion was simply splendid. the only rwby amv I have enjoy all year long xD
it certainly has been a while 😅 editing for purely beat sections is always a challenge for me, but lyric syncing is where I can shine lol
