i love the look of it, it adds a new element to Chicago’s already attractive skyline. it’s different and you’ll never have everybody in your favor when bringing something different

Honestly, it's great to see new additions to our skyline. We have a great mix of new innovation and old Chicago. Gotta love the spirit of our old Chicago architecture - some of the best hands down. Sears Tower (it will ALWAYS be Sears Tower to Chicagoans) is still a remarkable piece of construction all these decades later.

Chicago should invest in high speed rails. This would generate substantial revenue, create jobs and become a hub for North America. No other city could do this.

Chuy L High speed rail is something Chicago will never see. With all the constant violence and corruption. High speed rail....sadly will never be a reality.

    • @bignerd0452

The sad part is, that would require either substantial private investment or Chicago being able to stabilize their financial situation, neither of which I see happening anytime soon

@@jericarolinem2789 You sound like someone who doesn't live in Chicago, Chicago's crime is substantially overblown, you can walk just about anywhere in the daylight and most people will leave you alone, nighttime however is a different story (as with all cities), and btw, Chicago has the 8th most productive economy in the world, over 850 billion in gdp in 2019... so money isn't the problem either. Chicago's government is the issue, Chicago has been losing its "first to go big" mentality since the early 2000s... that being said, I definitely see Chicago running high speed rails in the near future.

I must confess that I find this building very unattractive. I also dislike the Trump building.
I love the big three, the Sears Tower ( I refuse to call it by it’s current name), the John Hancock Tower and the Standard Oil Building. Yes, I know that those names are outdated as well but I prefer to remember them as they were when I visited the Windy City in 1979. Locals back then called them Sears, Big John and Big Stan.
Somehow, these new giants don’t seem to fit in.

    • @sportsgames2713
