World in changes describes this day, 2-11-21, as poetically as it described the world the first time I heard it!! As always you are right in the heart of things. Your and your music’s longevity speaks volumes about life. You know if you know.
I remember Dave performing a reggae ish version of "All Along the Watchtower" in 94 at New Orleans ' Tipitina's. Being able to shake his hand was quite the honor. I'm still a jet age Gypsy, always on the brink of knowing what I mean.

One of my favorite songs. I saw Dave years ago at the Birchmere in Arlington, VA. After he played this I stood up and gave him and ovation while most people just clapped. He looked over and gave me a nod. After the show I went over to the low stage and asked if I could have the set list, which was lying on the floor. He handed it to me. What a class act. A night to remember.

It’s great to have a new version by Dave for 2021, but the original version will always be my sentimental favorite. It’s hard to change something that was PERFECT to begin with. Dave is a genius.
I thoroughly enjoyed this new take. It’s different than the original, but there’s nothing wrong with that! Dave’s been a favorite of mine since the mid-70s. I’ve seen him half a dozen times at least, and I’m never disappointed. His playing and voice are still kick-a$$.

I was your bellman there and you talked to me for a long time. I ran out of things to say because I never expected you to talk to me for so long.

While I really enjoyed the melody of this revision, the original, with its pauses and then uplifting guitar, is a masterpiece. The original felt as if it was a personal message between two lovers; this feels like just another global warming message in the end.
