@Tai Chi with Sifu Kuttle, what is more effective for self defence and attack, Choy li fut or Taichi? Bruce Lee said Choy li fut is the hardest to defend and attack. What about in real life Sir?
Nowadays people only practice Tai Chi for health and mindfulness, so unless you find an experienced teacher, it’s doubtful you’ll learn martial Tai Chi, which has nothing to do with chi expression and empty force. They need to know how to fight. Because of this, I wouldn’t recommend that you learn Tai Chi for self defense. Choy Li Fut is a fighting art, so it is more directly applicable to self defense. The one thing to keep in mind is that when you train, you keep that goal (self defense) in mind and not get caught up in forms or fancy combinations, rather focus on making the basics as strong and as efficient as possible.
There are detailed videos on the history of Kali , including the need for them to disguise the art as a dance, not using swords, in order to be allowed by their occupiers to do so. I have searched the history of the Chinese Flute, how it's origin and use was concealed or disguised as to use, to whomever it needed to be concealed from, be it govt, etc. I struck out completely in this search, if you know the history and can do a video or link that history, I would appreciate it.
Unfortunately, it's difficult to discern the lines between real historical usage and fantasy as most documentations of flute as a weapon come from Wuxia and fantasy literature. I think although it could be used as a quick weapon, it would break quite easily since it is hollow with many holes.
Bonjour Sifu 🙏🏼

Sir, what about the Tai Chi flute? Is it available to all tai chi schools generally or not?
@@nathanieldizon2150 Not all schools teach Tai Chi Flute. The most common weapons would be jian (straight sword), dao (saber), Fan, and Spear.
