Excellent and practical! Thank you for all your hard work to serve us as we learn how to implement math classically!

This is the most practical video on how to implement the Math Map that I have found. I am equally excited about it and apprehensive on how to move forward with the curriculum. Summer is going to be all about math for mom!

We have been in CC for 5 years and my son will be in Challenge A, he is not "at grade level" for math, and the majority of his peers from our campus are not either (although they are many levels "ahead" in other subjects) I asked at Practicum, but didn't receive a clear answer on how these kids are supposed to ever 'catch up" when thrown into Math Maps in Challenge A, which seems to be "on grade level." I inquired if there is access to lower levels of math maps to work in for kids who are not at grade level & was told no, they would work at the Challenge A level & to trust the process, that thru copy work & flash cards eventually it would click. I would like to know how you see this working for kids who are behind grade level in math? We are currently doing math tutoring 2 times per week, to fill in gaps and are happy with the curriculum we have been using. I can't really fathom doubling our work in math by adding math maps to what we are currently doing in math (which is working well for my son, to increase proficiency and confidence, and I am very reluctant to abandon) We are very excited for Challenge A, but the math maps has kind of thrown us for a loop. What is your advice for parents of kids going into A who are behind in math, and how did you plan for this in the design of the program?
I am curious why the choice was made to begin the Math Map program in Challenge A, as opposed to introducing it/ adding it into Foundations first, so kids could have the advantage of beginning with this math curriculum from the start? I know there has never been a required math curriculum for F & E, but why not change that & start everyone from the ground up?

TMM was created for the Challenge program to bring math unity to the entire program. The logic strand where math is discussed on community day has been less than fruitful because every student is working at a different math level and in a different program. TMM will allow the Challenge director to have a common conversation with all students because everyone is using the same materials at the same time. There is no plan to integrate TMM into foundations. We have always said that F/E is a full curriculum expect you need your own math and reading. Well, now we have a math program to offer.
