I love how the new intro is an assimilated Steven recalling the past but i feel like he's not even there anymore, he's been hijacked(blank eyes, which can convey no sense of individuality, the substance is leaking out of his eyes, mouth, nose,the constant smiling, probably override of nervous system, his body is in the sense 'alive' since it can still actuate his powers), and the Darkness is using mimicry to try to get sympathy before spilling the beans that it's actually a monster, the thing that's taken his body is just talking through his voice lines, it's given his body its properties(it glitches out randomly, like it's not able to perform normal operations without messing up) and its voice seems to have the glitchy effect, hinting that it's talking through his body. It's really terrifying to think that it can swallow someone up and leave behind a puppet to its influence and the tone of the song stands behind that, it sounds ghostly, almost disturbing even and Steven spitting out those voice lines sounds more like the Darkness mocking Steven's character peogression before breaking out of that into the trademark wide grin and empty eyes as it continues to use his empty shell more.
the lore is crazy but what you made really showed his ACTUAL personality inside the precious soul steven is.(dont be angry but i never watched steven i think)
Tbh, seeing Steven is bad in so many ways, because since we’ve so many times that Steven is extremely insecure, it’s bad enough for him to be fighting the darkness off since the darkness could easily manipulate him. Especially since Steven is extremely strong, that’s also really bad.
