IS 2720 PART 16---- AS PER CODE CLAUSE 5.1.1
Weight to produce a surcharge equal to the weight of base material and pavement to the nearest 2.5 kg shall be placed on the compact soil specimen.
CLAUSE 5.2:- SURCHARGE WEIGHT -, Sufficient to produce an intensity of loading equal to the weight of the base material and pavement shall be placed on the specimen.
