Man I really miss my G.I. Joe comics. I had those books in that first stack. I wish I could've bought them... Good times.
If you get out hunting I bet you can slowly put a set together. I pick up a few here and there.
I don’t know anything about comic books, but this video has a solid ASMR quality.
That Love & Rockets is the coolest find from my perspective. I have that issue but would buy another for a dollar any day. Also, can never go wrong with Brian Bolland. I just did a piece discussing on of his original art covers from Judge Dredd, and it is just mindblowing. Anyway, really cool little store, always fun seeing the neighborhoods there.
Honestly any day you can find a Love and Rockets comics in good shape in a dollar bin is a great day. I really enjoy Brian Bollands art, I think he is a bit under rated. I will have to check out your video on him. Dan use to set up at the flea market by my shop so I saw him often. He retired last year so I was kind of missing seeing what he had for sale. It was fun taking a trip out to his shop.
@@pop-comics L&R is my favorite comic of all time. I dunno if Bolland is underrated because people seem to love his work, but he may at least be taken for granted because we don't hear enough about him. I think it's maybe because he doesn't do much interior work perhaps. I assume you have all of Camelot 3000? His covers remain fantastic.
Yes I believe I have all the Camelot 3000 comics. I do tend to grab duplicates of all his stuff when I see it in Dollar bins, bad habit for space lol but he is so underrated.
You do a great job of filming with one hand and searching thru boxes with the other hand. Nice stack of books!
Thanks, I forgot the clip to add to my backpack but at the same time I think it was easier for me to film the comics in the dark and in the back of the boxes with one hand.
That Stalker DC comic was a nice find! I remember buying it off the rack back in the ‘70s as a kid and loving the story. The boy was living on the streets and dreamed of being a great warrior. He gets his wish but loses his soul and feels no joy or contentment, then begins the journey of trying to get his soul back.
Also love it that you grab the Atlas books - me too! I remember having that Tiger-Man comic as a kid, now I must find it. I grab any #1 Atlas books I run across.
Sounds like Stalker is an awesome read to go with its great art. And yeah the Atlas books are a ton of fun for me, I wish they had published a bunch more lol
Surprise that you passed up the SUPERPOWERS book that is hard to find. Plus the Gold Key TUROK great artwork and Story.
Most likely a book I had already or was too much for it or was damaged in some way that was not appealing. its been a while since I filmed this so not sure which books they were.
The Bubblegum Crisis is a good mini-series done by one of my favorite artists, Adam Warren. You know, you passed up a bunch of other Lensman comics, right?
Adam Warren is great, I think I have most of it not all of that series. Lensman I am not as familiar with, I do like collecting all the 1980s Manga issues I can but I like to pay super cheap on them.
I love watching bigger channels to try and see what type of things they are doing. Just found your channel and I love it. I do alotta hunting and love watching this type of stuff.
I have a few of those 90s Impact Comics you passed. They are fun to read. That Cho variant cover was a nice ASSet to the collection. I guess I'm a different buyer cuz I'd have bought a whole different batch.
YES! That's why Greg Rucka is a D-bag over the whole Wonder Woman showing her "underwear" thing. It was a bunch of bs. I'm right there with you. I don't mind that sort of thing. I guess you and I are the same breed. LoL
You passed over some great rehash of house of mystery/secrets books that can't find where I live at that I would've paid you to get for me including Mad and heavy metal mags. But all in all you got a good haul.
I mean I cant buy everything in a shop lol Good books though, pretty sure I had the one I saw there already or price was higher then I wanted to spend.
Great haul! I loved the part in almost all the piles you would say “nothing much” and then start pulling comics lol
Haha I would see 5-10 in a row that looked like nothing then I would find pockets of awesome comics. It was really fun to dig through the boxes.
Should have picked up that big O comic
Yeah I probably should, I think they are relatively cheap to buy though so I did not miss out much.
The Lil Depressed Boy is a really good series, I own them all. It is a very short series with I believe, 14 issues in the first arc. The second arc is even shorter.
When I go through multiple longboxes like that, it just illustrates to me that in that store are thousands of comics that nobody will ever want.
Someone wants them out there. I feel like their is a collector for every comic.
Wow that was fun. Thank you for the road trip!
It was really fun to dig through the bins of comics. I need to do more road trips it was so much fun.
Fun video as usual. I know you like Katy Keene style books. By chance I found a little series called Vicki Valentine. I saw #1, and thought the cover looked pretty cool, so I got it. Very different, but fun. Think I'll try to get the rest.
Yeah I think I have one issue of Vicki Valentine, not sure if there were more issues. I love stuff like that.
oh man at 5:53 i think you passed over that assasin's creed promo book. it sells for $125 (not joking) and at 7:13 you passed over the 1st app of Rose Wilson in that Deathstroke comic.
Yeah I always know I miss something hard to know every comic worth grabbing but now I know.
I think I saw House of mystery #16 (sweet tooth preview) at 11:05, I think that book goes for a few bucks. Great haul though 👍
Definitely do more of these pretty cool
I do like filming comic hunts and digging through bins, definitely more in the future.
the ship comic would be ones to have as well your friend up here in Oregon jon daniels
@@pop-comics the reply was supposed to be shi comics as well they are good ones I wouldn't mind having
I would love to have the highlander comic books you past over it be amazing to own some if them your friend up here in oregon jon daniels
I love highlander, I think its a semi cheap run to get. You should be able to get one online for a few dollars. Pretty sure I bought them myself years ago.
that GL/GA comic is a $10 key, shoulda grabbed it-
@@ryancreery what makes it a key? I have seen zero reference about it and they can be had for a couple bucks all day. I paid a buck for mine last year.
they knocked it down to a buck each? nice
Yeah he gave me a great deal, even a few books I thought would be $4 he said $1 was ok
I wonder who opened the first comics shop in NYC?
I am sure someone did in the late 1960s early 1970s. Before that it would just be newstands
I hate when they're just flopping around like that nut if you don't mind them for a reader copy it's all good.
Yeah a lot of them had no bags and or boards so they get kinda beat up in the bins. Still found some fun stuff.
@@pop-comics I'm glad you snagged some gems. There's an antique store near me with a spinner rack. It drove me nuts.
Would you be interested in my milestone whatnot collection sale ⁉️ I'm a huge milestone dc fan. And went ham back a few years ago and need to sell my doubles triples etc.. Great video thank you for the content and time😎💯
I dont really buy from Whatnot, but I might be interested in the collection. For the most part I love pulling them out of dollar bins.
@@pop-comics I have been doing the same here in Tulsa for two years. Roughly since the news about static and milestone coming back.
*_It hurts when you see people flip through books and they pass valuable books._*
*_It also hurts when they manhandle valuable books, mostly due to they "only have one hand" since they are recording with the other instead of having a head-cam._*
You should go and visit the shop and save the comics before it happens again.
Also what books did I miss? I will let the shop owner know so he can pull them and get more for them.
Cause these books are stored super well /s. I am glad they knocked the price down.
Mmmmmm...Pizza🍕Dog...sounds yummy...🤤 Awesome find with the two The Walking Dead Comics...🤘🏼💯✔️
Its always fun picking out a Walking Dead comic for a dollar.
