It seems op because the awp is god tier for punishing mistakes, even smaller mistakes, like showing 1 more cm than you should while shoulderpeeking and you are dead, while if you are facing an ak, maybe you will just lose 30 or 50 hp
Since I became an awper I now know all the angles they play which make it easier to predict where they'll be playing which you can use to your advantage with util
I feel like even a rifler knows those spots. The real advantage is learning how people counter you. If you play a position in 5 games and get away wuth it in 4/5 that one game someone found how to deal with you and you know how effective it is. Now you can apply it yourself

As for countering awpers......well, I almost always get my teammates to try an URAH charge (quite literally, battlecry and all) when we are cash-strapped, with me leading the charge using a SMG (often counterintuitively the Bizon for the sustained fire that $1400 can offer). Can't say much since I'm just a Silver 2, where you can sometimes just aim-punch a surprised awper to death with a Bizon by jumping out of a corner, but well, that works for the team.
It would make more sense if you guys had video footage that actually showed what you are talking about. I know it would take more time to make the videos, but the quallity would increance greatly!
AWP in Deathmatch(DM) is so stupid. It has 0s ADS time and we dont even have utility. There's a reason why the AWP is so expensive but on DM you can just get it for free. Also at least allow the CT to use AK in DM since the M4 is so much weaker.

1:25 Yes, the AWP is overpowered and its usage isn't realistic at all. A sniper rifle's bullet ballistics are very complex that is demonstrated very well in Sniper Elite series. I am 200% sure that if the bullet ballistics of the Sniper Elite series were incorporated in CS 1.6 or CS: GO, then most of the snipers would switch to automatic rifles.
Hey good tips, but would be helpful to show clips of jigglepeaking or the jump you’re talking about instead of random awp clips. (especially for beginner/intermediate players, I mean if you already are a experienced player and know this stuff then you don’t need these tips right?)

The aper on dust 2 will usually hold A short and will peek B from doors/window if they push B so it isn't that likely you will get him so easy with the rush. Second map: mirage. Usually if there is an awper on B site he will hold the angle from car. If you flash him he will throw a molotov and reposition making it also hard to kill. In both cases if you try the rush B with p90 and flashes at least 2 players will die to the awper! If you play silver-gn you can get away with it since people play so chaotic
get your rank down to silver /nova , que in mirage, pick deagle go mid , pre aim sniper nest thru wall in 4 parts, wide peek counterstrafe boom you started xantarespeeking awpers every round xD (its kinda unfair for the lower ranks, but trust me once you start doing that you wont be able to stop)
JIggle/shoulder peeking only works great against awpers below SMFC/Global levels, who mostly have only 1 way of holding corners. I mean just take a look at how players like Zywoo and S1mple deal with jiggle/shoulder peekers, and you'll realize why riflers without team support or a single utility, are still at a serious disadvantage against any awper holding corners against them. It's kind of like how p90 works insanely good at lower levels against riflers with mediocre aim, but are mostly useless at higher levels. Whereas an awper can be insane at higher levels, but easily countered at lower levels.
i tend to disagree a bit depends on the rank you re playing it can be very eazy or very hard to retake with an awp and if you re alone might ass well peak one angle at a time and isolate fights when i want to counter the awp i use a scout and shoot thru walls like any other "good" player jokes aside on mirage its pretty eazy to kill thru the pits walls or the top mids boxes
I don't play CSgo where 60% of the players just camp with an awp. I play unreal tournaments 3 instead where it's always close combat and skirmish. No peek. No camping. But I have to admit it's much less popular. : )
Well as the match goes on people keep making mistakes (from silver 1 to the pro scene). The only thing you can do is hope you can hit your shots and avoid them (you are not at fault for all the mistakes)

Well, any gun is OP if the user knows how to use it. It takes practice to learn how to not only counter an awp but also the player using it

The AWP isn't necessarily overpowered, but it's certainly underpriced. It should be 10K not 4.8k or whatever it is.
I played casual to learn how to counter multiple awps at once, it made ranked easy
