- Hi everyone. Want to be a hero with your family and friends? Make these delicious chicken wings at your next shindig. Easy recipe and no mess! No deep frying!!
This video is dedicated to my 102 year old mother. Love you Mom!!
Asian Sticky Chicken Wings Recipe
Ingredients:
1-1/2 lbs. (680g) Chicken wings
1-1/2 Teaspoons (7.4ml) Baking powder
1-1/2 Teaspoons (7.4ml) Corn starch
3/4 Teaspoon (3.7ml) Salt
1/2 Teaspoon (2.5ml) Fresh ground pepper
Sauce:
Thumb size ginger (minced)
3 garlic (minced)
2 Tablespoons (30ml) Rice wine or cooking sherry
1 Tablespoon (15ml) Sweet chili sauce
2 Tablespoons (30ml) Honey
3 Tablespoons (44ml) Brown sugar
1 Tablespoon (15ml) Dark soy sauce
2 Teaspoons (10ml) Finely chopped lemon grass (optional)
Thai chili pepper, minced (optional)
2 Tablespoons (30ml) water
1/2 Teaspoon (2.5ml) corn starch
Instructions:
1. Remove wing tips and separate drumettes and flats. Dry wings with paper towel.
2. Combine with baking powder, corn starch, salt and pepper.
3. Place on wire rack and baking sheet. (Use aluminum foil and cooking spray for easy cleanup). Refrigerate for 1-8 hours. The longer the better for crispy wings.
4. Mince ginger and garlic and set aside. Finely chop lemon grass as shown.
5. Combine rice wine, sweet chili sauce, honey, brown sugar, dark soy sauce, lemon grass, chili pepper, water and corn starch and mix well.
6. Bake marinated wings at 450°F (232°C) for 20 minutes. Flip and bake for another 20 minutes or until internal temperature reach 165°F (74°C).
7. Heat wok and put in a teaspoon (5ml) vegetable oil.
8. Put in ginger and garlic. Cook for 1 minute.
9. Pour in the mixture and cook till thick and syrupy.
10. Mix in chicken wings.
11. Serve immediately.

I didnt have the ingredients to make the sauce, but I made the prepped and cooked the wings the same way and I gotta say they were actually crunchy and still really juicy. I had my doubts with 40 minutes at that high of a temperature, but it works.
