I lived in Dubai for 10 years and earned enough money for living. Despite of all these earnings I left Dubai, at the moment when I felt myself as a machine, woke up at morning, going office & coming back to home. As if I felt I am living for the job but it should be a job for a living.
Literally I understood that there is no life in abroad. Now I am the happiest person living with my family, friends, relatives & my neighbours in my hometown.

My brother's been living in Germany since 3 years. It is true that the weather and living there is depressing but at the same time there are lot of perks like medical insurance, free education for kids and good work life balance which we lack in India. In India you are expected to justify your work and salary and still get paid in peanuts. India has the potential to be on top only if it has better laws , security and facilities for everyone. To each his own.

I was in Belgium and the weather phenomenon is such a deterrent. It makes you feel gloomy and isolated in an already 'not so community oriented' culture. The pandemic had again added to it. And since I lived in a house in the outskirts, the heating systems were not always functioning due to the householders need to save on the gas/bills. A genuine piece of advice for anyone planning to study or otherwise settle in cold countries - PLEASE EQUIP YOURSELF WITH ACTIVITIES, EVEN IF THEY'RE INDOOR EXERCISES, DANCE ETC (EVEN THAT IS A PROBLEM SINCE PEOPLE IN THESE COUNTRIES HAVE A PROBLEM WITH SLIGHTEST OF NOISE), KEEP AN ACTIVE SOCIAL CIRCLE AND HAVE COMMUNITY EVENTS HANDY AT LEAST A COUPLE OF TIMES A MONTH TO KEEP YOUR MENTAL HEALTH SANE. These societies have their perks, the work life balance may be good. But the fact is that Asian bodies sre smaller, less tolerant to the harsh winters and we're not used yo living in such isolated conditions. It could be depressing if you don't already see it coming. It looks good on the outside but the vibe is actually gloomy.
Edit : She's absolutely correct about the paperwork. It's true for most European countries. They're not digitised at all and delay the work through unnecessary paperwork. The administration is very lackadaisical+ fine is something a friend of mine personally experienced with no fault of her own.

I saw your other vlog with your neighbor uncle living alone. But nowadays you have so many old age homes all over India. Germans are very disciplined people. They respect Indians specially. Life Is very peaceful here. Free education, social security, medical insurance etc so many facilities you can get only in Germany. The situation for Indians, especially young Indians, is not that bleak if they work in Germany.
In India an IT employee is expected to work for long hours and wfh has increased the expectations. Salaries on an average are not anywhere near 20 L per annum. And due to the huge young population, the chances of becoming obsolete by the time you are 45 are also very high.
Ageing parents of single children should be the primary reason to return, but if you have a sibling in India who can care for them, then that too is not very crucial.
At a young age it is not so difficult to learn and languave and assimilate in a culture. At least the young should go abroad, get experience, see the world and then can choose to either stay or come back based on individual situations.

And paying 40-50% tax where you cannot benefit in your own old age. And even if you live in USA right now, it will be difficult to afford property in India after 10-20 years despite earning dollars.

The problem with Indians in General is they want to get out of India and enjoy the best that the West has to offer and don't want to handle the hardship or inconvenience of living there. You can not get the best of both worlds. When one goes to live in a foreign country for whatever reason be it, learn and adjust to live in the new environment or go back to your parent country. I would say that it is mainly because in India we are raised with helpers handling your daily chores and we are not accustomed to doing on your own.

Now the Indian inefficient multitudes simply following trend when the trend has gone long back. Those universities attracting such 3rd world students just for money now I guess. I have seen many college grads in India selling property, taking retirement money and Loan from banks and running to west to STUDY not for JOBS. Pls check it out what you are suggesting. 2. If you tell them about Uk or usa or Indian system they replied das ist Deutschland (this is Germany) they have Gabar mentality(shole indian movie. )
    3. If you resist or complain about bad quility in kindergarten they start threatning the child protection service ( jungertsamt)
    4. If after four months we complain about bad service in kindergarten and quit with them , the did involve child protection agency
    5. Child protection agency wont listen to you and treat you like criminal
    6. You have to hire a solicitor to protect you from child protection agency..
    7. They would listen to Germans but not the forign parents
    8. Then you should be smart to protect your self ...
    9. Child protection force you to your chikd to learn only German
    10. Bi lingual(english and German school) schooling is allowed in Germany but ..
    11. English school in Frankfurt for example they are mostly rude on the phone ...
    12. Full of discrimination ....
    13. We landed in to kultur ministerium to complain about school

Everything has its advantages and disadvantages, it all depends on your priorities. In India it is more loud and lively, you get house help, and you also have families all around.
Winters can be depressing, but with all the joyful Christmas markets and decorations here it can lighten your weekends or evenings.
You can visit places covered in snow, just like those pictures in Christmas postcards, and your family can visit you occasionally for a better opportunity to see Europe. For me personally, the work life balance is a huge a factor. I call home and all my family and friends are always at work, reach late, take only Sundays off, there is a culture of encashing earned leaves in India, because even if you have them, you really do not get to use them, apart from that from personal experience and from others of the toxic senior junior, boss subordinate work culture. I had to make up lies just to apply for 10 days of vacation, when I would have 35 unused leaves.Because of competition if you do not comply to the work culture, you will easily be replaced.
I admire to see Germans manage work, buerocracy everything and yet take time out for vacations and family and relaxation. Maybe learn from them.

After watching movie Mrs Chatterjee and Norway (based on real life of a Bengali couple) it is quite evident that in your everyday life state's intervention is not at all acceptable specially for Indians where family bonding matters most in spite of few drawbacks. Like Mexico people from Canada also are trying to go to USA illegally which clearly indicates that not everything is hunky-dory in western world.

So why leave India? you have all of that in India? Or they go abroad and say, hey we have language problems, we dont get same food as in India, Germans dont speak in HIndi. Wow. So stay in India then.

I was always afraid that I will get fined due to some paperwork I might have missed 😅.jokes aside, I did make a lot of friends and I do miss them a lot. Most importantly, to be at the top of your game you will need to be fluent in Deutsch, otherwise forget it. But it is a great country no doubt about that!

Agree on most of the points as I was in Germany so agree. I. E. except the IT sector all other fields of language dominated in Germany.
But india main haal Or bhi bura hai, Without switching jobs, in India company main koi hike nahi mil rahi hai..... Just coz of this in my company 80℅ people left. Further 30℅ income tax and jinaki salary 50-70 lakh hai unko wealth tax bhi dena padta hai, GST on every single purchase, property tax, maintenance of house, no benefit on saving even in mutual fund on profit tax imposed, weekend all places over crowded, you can't take simple breathe and in mumbai going to office is another hassle, bosses attitude, no fix working hours, even in month end we worked late night reached home at 1 or 2 clock and about male employees no need to say.
Job bachaane ka pressure, competition ka pressure and after a certain age employees become unsecured and under immense pressure they work.
So, if I could suggest jaha pe ho wahi rahe at least india toh na aaye.
