- Finally got the balance point right and managed to get a few good flights in before dark.
The Quad was really heavy and ended up feeling more like a bus than an FPV Racing Drone but it was amazing to watch the footage back! :)

This is way cooler view than the "normal" FPV view. With the cam pointing forward was the best. think you are onto something here

That is too funny. Because the camera is fixed in the way that it is, it looks as if the quad is not even moving almost like you have got a green screen and you rolled in some footage. Pretty neat

Love this perspective. IF this can be perfected with micro cameras so the rear weight is insignificant, everyone will be recording their experiences like that. Racing will be so much fun if you can switch from 2nd to 3rd person view especially for spectators watching on the bench. Awesome again.

Hi @Indiana - cool idea and great execution! It's interesting how having the quad itself in the frame changes our perception of the flight. Given that the quad ends up being a fixed graphical element in the frame, I think you could get the same effect by simply overlaying a similar photo in post-production which would also have the advantage of a flight not impacted by the extra weight and air resistance of your - very cool! - outrigger system. Cheers!

driftwolf it's a lot harder to control in third person because of the weight being so far out from the center of mass but just about manageable :) thanks for watching

Hi, Sorry it's a late reply. I counterbalanced a go pro stock by putting a dead battery on one end and the camera on the other. Really heavy and unreactive in the air but it did the job :)

Nick Boylan Thanks :) and no lol. puts all the weight on the outside as opposed to the center of gravity. means I can roll but if I flip or the pitch goes to steep, it starts flipping uncontrollable. very hard to keep in the air :)
Ah ok, It may fair better with a plane then! I have a massive 1900mm skywalker, a Skymule and a Bix 3 that I can try this on! I like to experiment with different stuff! Doesn't always work out though lol Great video dude!

The Skywalker is a great plane! and its massive!!! I've got a couple of cameras attached with a video switcher. L9R rx, Foxeer TM25 VTX, HS1177 camera and Cyclops storm OSD!
I recommend it! I'm hoping to put up a few vids of it soon!

Interesting perspective. I had my ZMR250 out the other day (FrSky Taranis 9D+ running ppm - naze32 acro) and was flying in Horizon (Rattitude) mode. When I do rolls, my craft does more a "barrel roll", where as yours (and others I've watched) do more of an axial roll (which is preferred). Perhaps I need to increase my pitch/roll settings in Baseflight (yeah, still using that). Cheers.
Bill Somrak Thanks :) and ye I was going to say check your rates if it isn't spinning fast enough. Also if you still have your throttle on through a roll it'll do wide rolls as opposed to spinning on the spot

need a lighter cam. mobius works well for this style mount
Since you need to have a second battery on they quad put it in parallel so you have double the amps you can draw and double the capacity.
