- We get a lot of questions about how bad the engines are when they blow up, and can we fix them? Check the engine damage on this 4.800" HEMI we have for you in this video. We take you through the steps of our repair process.
I would like to see that portion of the repair. This video was awesome showing all the work that goes into the preparing of an aluminum block
Steve Morris has a video showing how they repair damaged billit blocks/heads.
Love the video, I’m very interested in repairing blocks or heads
We have a follow-up video on our channel. We appreciate your interest.

Hell yes show it
This is awesome..I remember back in 1995 when I first learned how to TIG weld aluminum..I was at work one day in the shop and ran out of work for the day on stainless steel items we/our company was contracted to fabricate and started piddling around with the TIG torch..one of the other welders told me to weld this aluminum piece together and I had to tell him I didn't know how..so he showed me how to switch the ac/dc voltage on the Miller machine over to AC and change the frequency type and that was all it took for me to begin my many years of TIG welding aluminum.
I wish I could go back to those days and work at a shop like Noonans..that would be my all time most favorite job ever ! Like others have said I can watch this type of video doing repairs like this.
Thanks Noonan for showing this..made my day !
Awesome stuff 👍 Yes please can watch repair videos all day long 🇦🇺🇦🇺

When I was doing propeller repair we would peen the weld with an air hammer using a rounded balled tip. It helps relax the weld and keep it from pulling so much and changing the pitch. Since this piece is getting re machined and cnc’d it might help you guys keep it in tolerance. There is no finish weld visible so it might be something to look into. Keep up the good work fellas
Thank you. Repair video part 2 is live on our channel!
Cool video these types are interesting. It’s amazing what pros like noonan can rebuild . I’ve watched Steve M weld up busted blocks and return them to their glory nice to see you show the same type of repairs

I’d love to see the rest of your process, it almost looked like there was a crack in one of the lifter bores also, or was that an optical illusion from the welding and video process?
Repair video part 2 is live on our channel! There wasn't a crack in the bore.
@@NoonanRaceEngineering I sent a message on facebook with the screenshot of what I saw 😁😁😁😁 I’M NOT CRAZY I SWEAR!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

We have a follow-up video on our channel. Go give it a watch. Thank you for commenting!
ABSOLUTELY I would like to see that part of the repair. How much repair cost would it have to be to be worth just getting another block? How bad would the damage have to be to not be able to repair it? The ability to repair these blocks makes them more attractive.
Repair video part 2 is live on our channel! Many customers have more than one block or car, so it goes case by case.
Hell yeah bro, y’all better show cnc and final repaired product!!!!
Repair video part 2 is live on our channel!
No water jacket I assume? Could you have fixed the same damage on a block that had a water jacket?
What is cost vs. buying a new block?
Outstanding video!
Thank you! We appreciate it! Repair video part 2 is live on our channel!

As a kid my dad would always say don't look at the welder or without a hood is it the same on tv will we go blind
Cheaper to repair than start over? How many hours? Never owned a billet but have a dart aluminum block. I am a novice and hope to never blow up
Please show machining

What's your opinion on a repair like this in the main webbing of a cast aluminum block, will it be near original strength or is it a waste of time? I see a lot of folks peen their stitches but yall did not here, is it not necessary or maybe just for certain circumstances?
Tell that assole running the die grinder THANKS for his contribution to the intro!!!
We showed your comment! We all had a laugh! Video 2 is live, so go watch it too!
Let’s see it

Id like to see a bae and noonan head to head. I cant remember if it was allen Johnson who came up with 481-x. But id like to see a head to head thing
That was simply put badasss
Pulling hot filler rod out of shield gas is a no-no
Ive seen some guys peen the weld area as they weld...a form of stress relieving
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💪💪💪💪
Two things, he is sharpening his tungsten completely wrong, using dirty greasy gloves to handle his filler rod.
Basic stuff.
Argh My EYES!!!!!
