That's a baseball team in Colorado the rockies
Prior to that, there was also a Colorado Rockies hockey team that started out in 1974 as the Kansas City Scouts, then moved to Colorado in 1976 as the Rockies, before moving to their current home in Trenton, New Jersey, in 1982, and changing their name to the Devils. The Colorado Rockies baseball team didn't come around until 1993.
The Jets would go on to finish the 1980-81 season with the worst record in NHL history: 9-57-14.
That's incorrect. The Washington Capitals 1974-75 hold that record (8-67-5). Ottawa and San Jose both did worse in 1992-93 (10-70-4) and (11-71-2) respectively. The Quebec Nordiques 1989-90 (12-61-7) were also worse.
The 74-75 Washington capitals had the worst season in NHL history with a record of 8-67-5 but the 80-81 jets were not far behind.
Not the worst record in history but they did have the longest winless streak, mainly because there was no regular season overtime then. If there was, chances are they would have won some of the ties they registered.
