you can actually here on soundboard recordings that he misses some of the cymbal porno in several gigs. so he must have been in pretty bad shape too. but this version is completely perfect, a magical marriage of rock'n'roll and techno. weird how he made this during christmas 1993. maybe Martin wanted it more like the album version on the first legs of the tour.

Dave refused to sing the classic version of IYR until the last tour because of too many sad memories from this tour so Rush is probably the same thing.

I've seen them twelve times in Europe, in festivals and into their own live acts, and they were the Depeche we all know, fresh and energetic. And without all these pre-recorded, impressive sounds and effects that they recorded for the South and North America. Tired, maybe bored, looking forward for some rest. Dave whispers "Thank you", like he means " go now, enough ". Not tired, excausted. I wish I'm wrong. Tony.
The "double" voices are sounds extracted from the multitrack to make the backing track. This soundboard record doesn't get any closer from what you hear in the crowd. In the crowd you can hear every sample played on the keyboard and the backing tape.
