    Line capacity would be the same because 110 yards is the same as 100 meters.

    Hello!
    I have watched a lot of your videos, but still can not figure out which reel is most suitable for my type of fishing. I plan to use shallow crankbaits 6-7 grams, mostly lucky craft clutch SR and SSR and be able to cast them at least 30 meters. I fish only in small and medium size rivers full of logs and branches mostly chub from 1kg up to 2.5 kg. Often casts need to be prety far and precise, because chub is very cautios fish. I will use braided line PE #0.8 and rod aproximetly from 3-12 grams. As far my understanding goes, i dont need BFS reel for my purpose. I am loking at something like Metanium 22 shallow edition, daiwa 20 alphas SW TW, daiwa steez CT SW TW, maybe some DC reel like SLX DC XT......drag clicker would be nice, but looks like only steez have it.
    Can you please give me some sugestions what to choose and not necessarily from models mentioned above.
    Thanks!

    You are comparing two different measurement units, for Metanium 150 is in yard, while Metanium 2023 is in meter

  • @astinhwang8388
    @astinhwang8388 10 місяців тому +1

    JDM line capacity are in Meter and US one is in Yard. So US 150 size (110 yard) is same as JDM 70 size (100M ) so both 2020 JDM & USDM are identical.
    And 2023 100 size Metanium 100 is 12-120m line capacity so 20% more line.
    That means 20 Metanuim would be best for 10-12lb line for lighter presentation and 23 Metanium is best for 14-16lb FC lines which is more versatile & and heavier presentations.

      Because what else can they do with fishing tech? It's at its limits weight wise and smoothness, all they can do now is try to improve the braking system's, and everyone is doing it, Daiwa has done it twice in their new DC reel, and the SS Air TW SV, KastKing's got two new braking systems for them, and Ark Gravity reels etc. Also, they could end up doing some great things with these apps and the computer tech they put into the reel. Currently, I love the idea of being able to see how far I'm casting on every throw, no more guessing, we can also go through our breaks and know exactly how far each setting will cast. Who knows though, one day we could see all kinds of tech not just relaying info about our casting, but maintenance problems like when a bearing isn't operating correctly or something, or when a fish bites the reel glows red or flashes, maybe we will see a system where the line, lure, and reel all relay digital information back to the fisherman, and your lure broadcasts sonar, showing the depth, fish, water temp ect. Things like this would really be useful for bank anglers, and all anglers alike.

    Which Metanium casts longer, JDM Metanium or JDM Metanium 100? Would I have an advantage of the heavier 100 spool (spool + more line) vs regular one (70), let say my line is 10lb?

    • @OVSpr
      @OVSpr 10 місяців тому

      I think for 10lb braid the 70 and for 10lb fluro the 100/150. It’s a monster caster anyway. I was blown away by the curado 70 but when I first casted the metanium I lost my words. It was unbelievable!😂

    The Daiwa app for the limit breaker is in Japanese only, at least for now. Not a problem for a fluent Japanese speaking person, I'm wondering how many will buy it and have no way to use the app.
    I'm lost in the baitcast market these days, since learning about a JDM market. Too many reels between the two markets, no idea what i should buy, knowing there is no warranty on a JDM reel.

    I would love to see the next Metanium have a drag clicker, but that is really about it. The newest Bantam and Metanium have impressed me, and I have about 70% Daiwa's, 30% Shimano's. I like the Zillion's ease of use, but don't like the plastic cover and feel the CoreSolid bodies are top notch for overall feel.

    One thing that US anglers need to be aware of is that the JDM reel line capacity with the nylon lines is that the standard diameters are much thinner than US nylon lines. So when using US line you will have less line capacity.
