Couple things - I never said I was a ~liCenSed nAiL tEch~ I do these videos for people that want to see how I do MY nails. And if you want to do yours, it shows you what you can expect. Also my nails last minimum 2 weeks without lifting and NEVER break which I couldn't always say when I got them done in a salon.
Emily Susanah i love your nails & love that you do them yourself. i think i saw a hack somewhere that holding your hand upside down before curing would help with the dip you get where tip is applied. ive been wanting to do my own nails with gel & after watching you, i probably will. 💙💙💜💛
Ok I am licensed n you did a nice nail prep great tip application I'm not gonna knock you on that gels can be tricky to work with just a helpful tip after you apply gel turn ur finger upside down that helps arch form gel is self leveling n if you do that it helps with not having flat spots that's not criticism just a help tip and if you purchase from amazon the sexy mix top and base costs are wonderful I use them myself and their gel polish is also very nice as well the primer pens are nice but they dry out quick Sallys has the no acid primer I use n u only need a small dot n it works just as well otherwise I think you did a great job
Tasha Williams that is nice of you to give helpful already learned tips and expressly tell her you are Not criticizing at all. And thank you both for even posting info. Good day n blessings to All
And for better inhesion file the tip on the nail so it blends better with the natural nails and You dont have any lumps and no lifting .. so you file only the tips not the natural nail
Hold your nails upside down for about a minute before curing it will help with filling in spots to make them more level also helps with getting a correct apex so they don't snap off practice makes perfect
Ps I know you said yours don't break just a little FYI from a home tech that has been at diy nails for a long time it took me 2 years before mine even looked half as good as the ones your already doing!
I just started working with builder gel about 4-5 months ago and it definitely is a learning process. It's easier than acrylic and takes less time, but I find the technique a lot less time consuming. When I do mine, I flip my hands and let gravity do the rest. I find it makes a nice, curved apex making the transition from real nail to tip smooth. Beautiful nail design!
You make me want to do my nails myself! Maybe one of these days you could do a starter kit type of video ? Also are there any specific UA-cam videos/channels you watched to learn how to do it?
The price difference is because the one at Sally's is smaller(.5oz) than the one she linked to(2oz). Still though good to try the smaller size out first and easier to get ahold of :)
Omg everyone in the comments give the girl a break, I can see for myself some stuff that's annoying, BUT it's not for us to critique her on, she likes her nails and that's all that matters! Emily, keep doing you girl! I myself love these nails! And I'm so jealous!! Excitedly waiting on what you do next!! ❤
what a hero, wearing long ass nails like this, and doing them all by yourself is insane. i can see you becoming a gel god :P those are really beautiful
You have inspired me to do my own nails. I love love love your nail style and the holo! I'm an Amazon queen myself so the fact that almost everything shown is on Amazon from this video is a huge plus!
You're so awesome! I swear you make me want to do my nails again. I've been healing my own nails for a few months. I've been taking liquid biotin to strengthen my nails. Everytime I watch your videos I'm so inspired. 💅💅🏻💅🏾💅🏽💅💅🏼
I do my own nails at home (not as long as yours) but I’ve done gel and acrylic) for a couple years. Trial and error. I finally bought an acrylic nail dipping kit (cheap on aliexpress) and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. SOOOO easy and nice and strong!!
I've been binge watching your videos for a week or so now and I can see you e come a very long way, your nails have really out grown for the better Good luck in all your endeavors and success
After you put the builder gel on, flip your hand upside down for 30 seconds to 1 minute and everything will fill in and smooth out on its own. Then you can cure them.
I like them a lot! Been looking into doing my own nails for a while now since I'm soooo picky and hate all the "salons" in my area of Michigan, thanks so much for uploading!
I’ve wanted, for the longest time now to do MY OWN acrylic nails... it’s so much money to go and get them done when I know I have enough talent to do my own 😂😂 I’ve searched for a lot of products but since I’ve watched this and your other nail vids, i think I’ll try what you use!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
love your nail videos! honestly the struggle to do mine at home, with the acrylic, also used to take me like 5 hours it was ridiculous! but how do you refill them/take them off? and do you find they break easily?
Acrylic is definitely such a hard process to learn. Not getting it stuck in your brush, getting the correct liquid to powder, not flooding the cuticle. So builder gel is a dream tbh😂
So so pretty !! Why the thumbs downs ?? Even on the one video I was a little disappointed (because the ending had been changed) I didn't give it a thumbs down ! Too many perfectionists out there. 🤦 Thanks, Emily !! ♥️🌹
I don't have a license either but I did learn that with that dip in your nails that's where the apex or structure should be, so it just makes a weak point that could potentially snap and hurt your nail especially with super long nails. Just a tip from one unlicensed nail lover to another! Love the design! The full pink nail is my fav:)
Great video..I love these nails..where can I find builder gel...wow..it's like it's already mixed.. liquid+powder.. amazing..you learn something new every day🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
My nails right now a re that bright orange and same length but are my natural nails. I clicked because I thought these were clear nails with some sort of silver &ngold glitter mix. LOVE the result. I'd have never guessed it was a solid color base they seriously (atleast on camera) look clear. Good paint job
These are gorgeous omggg! I subscribed last vid from you and I’m in love with your channel already! I’m working on my channel and getting better at things lol. Love your talent boo❣️
I love you so much I'm glad to find out I'm not the only one to do the same method. I love using gel products they are so much safer for your nails and your nails look so beautiful
For a dehydrator you can also use isopropyl alcohol into a spray bottle so you can just spray it to sanitize and cleanse and nail and dehydrate also you want to wipe it off to take off the dust but yeah that's another way to have dehydrator
Cure them one at a time done do two at a time that’s why the gel moves. Also you could put two layers. Put gel. Cure then put another where there are dents so that it looks better. It’s just the nature of gel but that’s a really helpful trick to make lasting beautiful properly structured nails.
hey girl! just some advice on how I do mine!!! :) after I put the tip on, i file the tip down to be even with my nail and it does prevent that dip from being so harsh! they look great! 💟
I think I'll purchase this specific clear builder gel! I've got other brands of clear builder gel but I heard that this is good!! Are those the Sassy + Chic nail tips?? They look exactly like them. Lol if you dont know what those are, they're the 80 pack of nail tips from the dollar tree.
To stop the dip at the join file the edge of the tip a little to smooth and do the first layer on just your natural nail first and then carry on with your application the way you already do.
I love your nails tbh! Does the gel break easier then acrylic? I know with my nails I used acrylic and they always broke eventually I just took my nails off the other day and I already miss my nails. I would probably try this out and see how it works for me
Cassadee Snow Neither are good tbh because you need to drill or buff your nails which takes off layers of your natural nail and makes them weak. Gel just makes a harder nail so they'll be less easy to break :)
Also, sorry I forgot to mention lol, you can't really take gel off yourself. You have to get them drilled off. HOWEVER. both types of nails can be not AS damaging provided the nail tech doesn't drill/file your nails practically to your nail bed. If you want stronger nails tho - gels. Sorry. I went off on a tangent lol
They look great, especially since you're not a professional! Hold your hand upside down before curing and stay away from the cuticle a just little more. Gel can be difficult
Most hard gels will not dry in LED lamp. Check tub before wasting time and money It should say uv cured or led cured. Or Uv/led. Which means both work.
Just a little tip. build the gel up just a couple more times at your cuticle and mid area! when you do that it gives more strength for your nails since they are long it will help them last longer😁 I know you didn't ask for advice on anything but figured I would let you know in case you didn't. But you are doing an amazing job keep working on it and you be even better at it. 😍
Madeleine Roberts acrylic, and gel do NOT damage your nails. Quality products don't do damage, it's the application, and removal that damages the nail bed.
hi! where do you get your nail tips from? could you please lmk the link you use to purchase them? I've checked on amazon but I can only find the full size nails and I just want tips like the ones they use at the salon. :)
Hi, I get you're learning but your polish/design is so hot!!! Good job! I've been doing my own nails for 20 yrs so it's a learning process where practice makes perfect but I sought your video out b/c your polish was something I needed in my life...lol!
I want to thank you. You inspired me to try the builder gel. And I've never used tips before. My nails turned out amazing. I was out of rubbing alcohol and had to use vodka thou lol.
I use that gel! But omg that shit always slips to my cuticles while its curing and then I have to take it all off , and how many watts does that led lamp have ?
Maybe after putting the top coat after putting holo, if it dulls it down try getting a shine buffers that can make your nails gleam. Can you try and then include it in another video if it worked.
So I have been wanting to find anything that will not damage my real nails.. I see you use the thick gel.. How are your nails after.. Does your nails just fall off or?
Ibd builder gel you can get them at sally for 14.99. Btw I use the same gel builder and whenever I cure it under my uv/led lamp it burns ? 😒 is it because my lamp is 48W? Because even with little gel it burns still.
Jessica Nunley no the gel don't smell at all I love using this gel v acrylic because you don't really have to file and also it don't stink and my husband ain't bitchin about the smell lol...
perosn dhdjd no the apex of a properly formed nails gives you the structure. Not blending it to your natural nails you are most likely to break. Please educate yourself before you tell others differently.
x.xmadelineshimonx.x please if you do your own nails please go watch Nail Career Education or Naio Nails on here they will teach you the proper way of doing nails without damaging your natural nails like this girl is doing. Just educate yourself a bit with actual knowledge before doing them. Please.

Emily Susanah first time looking at your channel but i love your nail color and now I'm subscribed :)
Emily Susanah are you sure that they didn't pop off the next day?!
What nails did you use ?
Girl you did this you have motivated me now... I love this
If you flip your hands over so the nails are parallel with the ground for a little bit before you cure, it will help with the pooling.
rhondakay86 My daughter Kenzie omg she loves nails and my wife says no lol😂😂😂
rhondakay86 do you have a channel
Ok I am licensed n you did a nice nail prep great tip application I'm not gonna knock you on that gels can be tricky to work with just a helpful tip after you apply gel turn ur finger upside down that helps arch form gel is self leveling n if you do that it helps with not having flat spots that's not criticism just a help tip and if you purchase from amazon the sexy mix top and base costs are wonderful I use them myself and their gel polish is also very nice as well the primer pens are nice but they dry out quick Sallys has the no acid primer I use n u only need a small dot n it works just as well otherwise I think you did a great job

thank you for mentioning good products
Tasha Williams from my experience with the thick builders, they don't quite self level.
Tasha Williams what's a good nail glue to use at home
Not sure why but they remind me of lisa frank??? They're really pretty!
Nic Scully I totally agree 😍
Multi colored holo that is why. Lisa frank knew what was up. 😍
The glitter!!!!i love these
Hold your nails upside down for about a minute before curing it will help with filling in spots to make them more level also helps with getting a correct apex so they don't snap off practice makes perfect
Ps I know you said yours don't break just a little FYI from a home tech that has been at diy nails for a long time it took me 2 years before mine even looked half as good as the ones your already doing!
Year later but thank you for this !!!

Hey girl I work at sally beauty we sell that builder gel for $15 tops and were having a sale on it $2 off right now! Good time to stock up :)
The price difference is because the one at Sally's is smaller(.5oz) than the one she linked to(2oz). Still though good to try the smaller size out first and easier to get ahold of :)
For someone that works or worked at Sallys you should know the IBD builder gel 56gr does NOT cost $15smh
@@Sunnbuzz Not every Sally's from different states or countries sells stuff at the same price

I'll never go back to a salon or acrylic! I love my gels! Nice demo on how you do your nails. They look fantastic! 💋🖤💋🖤💋
I like them a lot! Been looking into doing my own nails for a while now since I'm soooo picky and hate all the "salons" in my area of Michigan, thanks so much for uploading!
Haven't even watched it yet and I liked it cause I knowwww I'm gonna love it ♥️♥️
I’ve wanted, for the longest time now to do MY OWN acrylic nails... it’s so much money to go and get them done when I know I have enough talent to do my own 😂😂 I’ve searched for a lot of products but since I’ve watched this and your other nail vids, i think I’ll try what you use!!! Clicked so fast!!! I love your videos. Cute nails girl :)
I love seeing you use hard gel. It is personally my favorite medium for nails and all that i use.
love your nail videos! honestly the struggle to do mine at home, with the acrylic, also used to take me like 5 hours it was ridiculous! but how do you refill them/take them off? and do you find they break easily?
Acrylic is definitely such a hard process to learn. Not getting it stuck in your brush, getting the correct liquid to powder, not flooding the cuticle. So builder gel is a dream tbh😂
One of my favorite UA-camrs ever ❤️
Binge watching your videos! You’ve come so far! These look amazing but you’ve gotten so much better ❤️
I'm obsessed with your channel. You deserve way more subscribers.
So so pretty !! Why the thumbs downs ?? Even on the one video I was a little disappointed (because the ending had been changed) I didn't give it a thumbs down ! Too many perfectionists out there. 🤦
Thanks, Emily !! ♥️🌹
I swear I love videos like these. Keep em comin!! ☺️😊🤗
Okay I don't wanna seem weird or anything but I really like the way you speak. Your voice is super soothing and nice!
Girl you keep getting better!!
UGH!! SUCH BEAUTIFUL SPARKLY GOODNESS!!!
Beautiful job !!! Where did you find the Primer Pen ?? I've looked all over an no luck !!

Great video..I love these nails..where can I find builder gel...wow..it's like it's already mixed.. liquid+powder.. amazing..you learn something new every day🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
these are so pretty!

Please do more nail videos. I've binge watched them all :') love your nails and your extra af self! xx
I always do my nails at home so I love when you post nail videos !!! You are my nail queen 💅🏻👑
Loved this video. Keep making videos about your nails. It inspires me to try to do my own to
i do not get tired of replayin your videos 😍
So this builder gel won't dry unless you have a uv lamp, right?
Rhanaé Ami yes...
You have come a long way! 👏👏👏💅💅💅
Tiara ZA Durham hi where can I buy affordable but good nail tips to do this methods
For a dehydrator you can also use isopropyl alcohol into a spray bottle so you can just spray it to sanitize and cleanse and nail and dehydrate also you want to wipe it off to take off the dust but yeah that's another way to have dehydrator
Rain Lluvia the alcohol you would need 99 percent with is usually only available for liscened nail techs.
Love your nail vids!! 💙💚💜💛
I'm on break from classes watching your vids. Love you xoxo
Cure them one at a time done do two at a time that’s why the gel moves. Also you could put two layers. Put gel. Cure then put another where there are dents so that it looks better. It’s just the nature of gel but that’s a really helpful trick to make lasting beautiful properly structured nails.
You got yourself a new subbie! I love it😍

Emily, is the IBD Hard Gel a ‘soak off’ gel? Also, how do you choose to remove your nails when it’s time? Thank you ✨✨✨
I wanna see you and suzie from NailcareerEducation to do a collaboration I think she'd have fun doing your nails with the length and fun colours
Dani Suzie would cringe at this application. I would hope that she would teach her the proper way.
Kelsey Morine-Reid I agree but give her credit for going at it anyways. The non blending of the tips made me cringe! LoL
I love your nails tbh! Does the gel break easier then acrylic? I know with my nails I used acrylic and they always broke eventually I just took my nails off the other day and I already miss my nails. I would probably try this out and see how it works for me
Cassadee Snow my nail lady uses this and my nails lasted me over 4 weeks last time I had them done 😧😧
Shannon Rock wow that's really good! Is the gel better for your nails then acrylic?
Cassadee Snow Neither are good tbh because you need to drill or buff your nails which takes off layers of your natural nail and makes them weak. Gel just makes a harder nail so they'll be less easy to break :)

HOWEVER. both types of nails can be not AS damaging provided the nail tech doesn't drill/file your nails practically to your nail bed. If you want stronger nails tho - gels. Sorry. I went off on a tangent lol
Cassadee Snow Gel does the same amount of damage, doesn't last long at all (2-3 weeks)
Those look AMAZING!!!!Also love the HOLO💿
the holo is cutee use a black underneath to make it more noticeable
Funny how when you go to an actual nail salon you get an infection 😂😂😂💀
They look great, especially since you're not a professional! Hold your hand upside down before curing and stay away from the cuticle a just little more. Gel can be difficult
How much would all of this stuff cost together? Like is it over $50
Kale Marie probably like $80
you can find all this stuff on ebay for cheaper I got all my stuff for around $30 (if you choose an led drying lamp instead of uv)
Most hard gels will not dry in LED lamp. Check tub before wasting time and money It should say uv cured or led cured. Or Uv/led. Which means both work.
Wow them are SO freaking pretty. 😫😍
I love your nails in todays video😍😍😍
You just saved my life!! Going to start doing my own 😍
Just a little tip. build the gel up just a couple more times at your cuticle and mid area! when you do that it gives more strength for your nails since they are long it will help them last longer😁 I know you didn't ask for advice on anything but figured I would let you know in case you didn't. But you are doing an amazing job keep working on it and you be even better at it. 😍
I like this so much better than acrylic that really messes up your nails. And the holo is so pretty
Madeleine Roberts Gel does the same amount of damage to your nails as acrylic does.
Amber Rivera in my experience every time I’ve had gel I’ve had no damage and with acrylic my nails are paper thin afterwards
Madeleine Roberts acrylic, and gel do NOT damage your nails. Quality products don't do damage, it's the application, and removal that damages the nail bed.
You can get builder gel off of aliexpress for less than $5 and it’s still great quality
hi! where do you get your nail tips from? could you please lmk the link you use to purchase them? I've checked on amazon but I can only find the full size nails and I just want tips like the ones they use at the salon. :)
Love these videos!! Slay girl!
Hi, I get you're learning but your polish/design is so hot!!! Good job! I've been doing my own nails for 20 yrs so it's a learning process where practice makes perfect but I sought your video out b/c your polish was something I needed in my life...lol!
I don’t get what the alcohol wipe does to the regular nail polish to hold the holo glitter? 🤨 how is it sticking?
Could you PLEASE link the nail tips you use and the glue you use to glue them on? Or just tell me what brand you got or where you bought them from🙏🏻
Hi do u have to cure w holo all the time and once u cure do u have to soak before u remove the nail polish
This inspired me to do my own nails!!!!! I'm so happy thank u queen
Never seen a primer in a pen!!! Too cool!
I want to thank you. You inspired me to try the builder gel. And I've never used tips before. My nails turned out amazing. I was out of rubbing alcohol and had to use vodka thou lol.
I love extra af nails
I use that gel! But omg that shit always slips to my cuticles while its curing and then I have to take it all off , and how many watts does that led lamp have ?
They look great pretty color choices
So when we do our nails with builder gel is it better to use a gel polish instead of a regular nail polish ?
Maybe after putting the top coat after putting holo, if it dulls it down try getting a shine buffers that can make your nails gleam. Can you try and then include it in another video if it worked.
So I have been wanting to find anything that will not damage my real nails.. I see you use the thick gel.. How are your nails after.. Does your nails just fall off or?
Emily, what do you call the liquid nail art that you wrap around the nail as a design?
These are so cute loved this
Thank you Emily, these vids are so helpful. I'm tired of going to the salon, they always destroy my natural nails somehow.
Kodi Roberts this will destroy your natural nails. This is not the proper application process.
Ibd builder gel you can get them at sally for 14.99. Btw I use the same gel builder and whenever I cure it under my uv/led lamp it burns ? 😒 is it because my lamp is 48W? Because even with little gel it burns still.
A buffer is what it’s called 💗
Does the gel smell as strong as the acrylic? I want to do my nails at home, but that smell is just too much for me and my pets 😭
Jessica Nunley no it doesn't smell almost at all!
Emily Susanah Awesome!! I'm definitely giving it a try then. You've inspired me 😍
Jessica Nunley no the gel don't smell at all I love using this gel v acrylic because you don't really have to file and also it don't stink and my husband ain't bitchin about the smell lol...
nope, acrylics liquid has the smell, with gel you don't use liquid
File the tips over the top after you glue them to the nail, so they don't have that bump. 😘
vanessa mestre the bump is what provides support it'll break a lot more easier if you don't have it
perosn dhdjd no the apex of a properly formed nails gives you the structure. Not blending it to your natural nails you are most likely to break. Please educate yourself before you tell others differently.
I love these so much but all of the supplies does it cost more to do it at hike like this or at the salon??
x.xmadelineshimonx.x at the beginning it's gonna cost quite a bit but in the long run it's cheaper
x.xmadelineshimonx.x please if you do your own nails please go watch Nail Career Education or Naio Nails on here they will teach you the proper way of doing nails without damaging your natural nails like this girl is doing. Just educate yourself a bit with actual knowledge before doing them. Please.
They look as good as what I see from the salons.
Make more videos using builder gel you inspired me to do my own nails at home
Does that builder gel hav a strong smell to it like the acryllic?
Tatiana Avian no smell at all
I absolutely love it!!!
I Am a Licensed Nail Tech & I Love Your Nails They Came Out Great ❤
I have been very curious about gel polish, but never tried it. Do you have to buy an expensive lamp or do the cheaper one work just as good?
Hey, I bought one on AliExpress for pretty cheap and it cures gel polish just fine for me! :)
Ty KC thank you!
Jasper Cat .Productions amazon does one for £ 20 and it comes with a life time guarantee, its named belle nails led
Patricia Gallacher That sounds great I will check that out....if I survive the hurricane we are gonna get. Thank you.
We're did you buy your nail kit from 😄 Beautiful work
