after 3 hours of playing personally cant be more than an 8 even with all the "its Bethesda" delusion. You dont explore space you load maps.
The more I saw this game, the more I knew it was being far overhyped.
Most of the score are good for the game. The game is scoreing as good as some of Sony 1st party games.
@@paulmodjeski8958 microsoft manipulated the scores they send antecipated keys only for a few chosen reviwers!
@@paulmodjeski8958Can it really hold a torch to the likes of Ragnarok and Uncharted 4 and the sheer quality and polish those games have? I think not. I really think people are over rating this game. Most Sony exclusives fill a wider audience and are way more polished. I can't say the same about what I've seen of Starfield, as it seems to be for a very niche audience.
@@PlanetShlorpian They are 2 story driven, linear, action adventure games. Are they comparable to a Bethesda RPG?
I dont play much anymore, but from what I've been seeing of Starfield, it looks pretty fun.
I will however, actually play the game and derive my own opinion.
NO, it's not wtf. @@paulmodjeski8958
IGN was actually the hero this time around, they weren’t afraid to call out Starfield for all its flaws and the criticism has been very valid. I’m seeing a lot of disappointed people on the Starfield subreddit, the space exploration is super unsatisfying and one big flat illusion. You’re better off just picking up No Man’s Sky lmao.
I watched some of gamespot and most of IGN's review and they seemed very fair tbh lol. Some people I know that have been playing the game have said it's a good game but definitely has it's flaws. If people are enjoying the game thats GREAT I do however find it lame yet funny 😂when people are so quick to dismiss others opinions if they feel differently
The hero? Ahhh yes the reviewer can be seen on twitter in his homosexual bear kratos cosplay bashing Xbox. Very trustworthy
im about 10hrs in the game (PC) and I can say that it feels like a step down from the usual bethesda rpg formula. it’s the same old bethesda jank but everything feels dumbed down. i swear it’s a waste of time going to any of the planets, they are so empty and boring, but that’s the limitations of procedural generation. the only thing I’ve really been enjoying is exploring the cities and that’s because they’re handcrafted areas. so far the story is really not engaging to me. and good lord.. the UI design is the most abysmal I’ve ever seen and the game is basically a loading screen simulator. nothing is seamless in this game and it all just feels fake. i wanna be immersed into a space sim bruh. i wish I didn’t spend the extra $30 for early access lol

@@statesman6379YOU ARE DELUTIONAL AND A FANBOY READ THE CRITICISMS OF THE GAME AND THEN TELL US IT'S GREAT
The game was clearly Overhyped and they tried they're best to get a great review score by blocking certain outlets from getting it and only giving it to people who've been hyping it on UA-cam. Unfortunately, it didn't work The game still has a lot of bugs and map issues as well as NPC issues. There's some fun things scattered and If you like that type of game, you may enjoy it. @JizzBoss888 depends if insomniac plays their cards right.
I definitely bet their Black Suit storyline will be talked about for years to come due to how far they will go with it.
Especially going beyond their gameplay.
And man... they have potential with the open world.
If they focus deeply on what they did in miles morales when it comes to side activities? Diving deep into New York's civilians, the crime that runs the streets, and the many villains we'll possibly encounter as we explore the open world!!
It could definitely leave a mark on the industry when it comes to an AAA dev doing something special.
But we shall see.
Played 3 hours last night. And at 87 is overrated. Remember the hype, 1.5 points of hype. It has the worst space navigation in 10 years because you don't actually navigation space. Most loading screens have seen in 2 years. Even though they are not loading screens, its the actual space exploration. Because you just are picking shit for a menu.
I heard several people say the game doesn’t get good until you complete the main story, and you start new game+
I took a good nap while trying to watch someone play
I’m sure it’s fun to play but watching the start was very mid
It’s outer worlds with a space theme without actual space travel….

I feel you 100% on being tired of massive open world games. I'm looking forward to Spidey 2 and Like a Dragon: Gaiden. Spidey will have fast and satisfying traversal like in the first game and Yakuza maps aren't overwhelming in scope.
I hear even the big Bethesda tubers are saying that the extra fluff planets get in the way of what make starfield great the bethesda rpg story. Well that and the amount of loading screens to point that they fast travel instead of taking off on planets to save time.
This game is not fun to watch I’ll tell u that
played it last night when early access went live. it starts off pretty slow like how people said it is, but it gets better once you finish some of the missions and have room for the side missions and such.
obviously it's not a "groundbreaking" kind of game, but it's still a fun game to play if you enjoyed Bethesda's previous sandbox titles
what's your favorite aspect of the game so far from what you played so far? And are the main/side quests fun and engaging?
so far the level/area explorations have been pretty fun to discover so far. as for the missions and quests, I'd say I'd compare them to how Skyrim's quests (maybe FO3 and NV) where each quest i've been have been interesting. @@TheGamer2323
@@TheGamer2323Id place it in the field of most being like how oblivion played with the story and the quest..so far I'm finding the side quest pretty entertaining...it has that giddy humor that just doesn't take itself too seriously and instead of these games where you have a side quest and you don't listen its actually pretty entertaining to listen to what's going on. It can be really dark and make you say wohh or some quest can make you just chuckle and wonder who tf wrote this.
I work 11 hours a day and the 2 nights iv been playing Iv just been doing side quests and looking at stuff in the world..at time the game looks terrible lol but there's those other times more than not you sit back and just realize this is where games are at today..so in my opinion this game is going to age really well and I can see that just from the 9 hours I've put in.
So far the best aspect of this game is turning it on and just not feeling like you have to do anything at all..what main quest?...and you feel ok with that as in accomplishing nothing after playing and feeling good about it and not like you just wasted 5 hours...I put it on the hardest difficulty so if I want to sweat I'll go sweat..but mostly Iv just been exploring..which it's clear that's what the game is tailored too. It's an awesome experience and I don't smoke anymore but man if I still did I know Id be just lost in the world. I'd give it a 9..
The thing I don't get is putting all your eggs into some space exploration game, I personally don't give a fuck about a game like that, so it doesn't matter how good it is, I'm not playing it. Going back to playing Ocarina of Time for the first time I go.

My own personal opinion on the game:
The game is good. Not great. Doesn't meet the hype (hype was far too high to begin with). It's very much a Bethesda game, so you're gonna get the usual Bethesda jank that comes with it, i.e bugs and questionable graphics... If you're a fan of Bethesda's previous games, mainly Fallout, then Starfield is absolutely a game for you.
As an rpg, it's very in depth.
Story is competent.
Exploration is disappointing as the vast majority of planets are very lifeless, empty and boring, and also copy and pasted. Which to be fair is to be somewhat expected. They were never going to handcraft 1,000 unique planets. It's still disappointing though, considering exploration was one of the things that Todd Howard hyped up about this game.
Overall, I'd give it an 8.
game is basically mass effect andromeda except you can fly the ship on a linear plane
Starfield is not the game of generation lol
GTA6 IS the game of the generation.
Definitely
My expectations were under water when the game first got announced with how awful FO76 was, but I really REALLY started buying into the hype the last 3 weeks or so. I have game pass for PC so I was going to be playing the game no matter what, and thankfully I tempered my expectations, but the game really is great. I’m a fan of Bethesda style RPGs and this is really just that, but in space. A few things I’m not too happy with like there being no maps and the controls taking a while to get used to, but other than that, it’s like an 8.5/10 for me so far about a dozen hours in
The concept of this game is interesting but the execution is bad. The character models and animations look absolutely awful and the cutscene/loading screen stuff is simply unacceptable on “the worlds most powerful console”. The environments look nice, along with some of the combat though.
its outdated game. Its GOY for 2010 for sure, not for 2023.
- The shooting is garbage
- AI is garbage
- The colours are just gray and everything is lifeless.
- 20/30 fps on XSX??
- Worlds are generic af and just copy paste same shit.

If they get a few more games of this quality they will be fine but they need at least 5 more. From what I'm hearing it feels like mass effect mixed with fallout

Throw in that $20 price hike on PS+ and I'd be mad as shit too if I was stuck on PS.
It's essentially the next level of a Bethesda RPG. They apply everything they've learned throughout the years into a space setting with some new interesting mechanics. I've always been able to get lost into Bethesda RPG's (in a good way, immersion) and Starfield scratches that itch for me. Love the sci/fi Nasa punk universe it takes place in. I also have a pretty beefy PC so can play at above 60, speaking of which the game also runs really well compared to every other Bethesda game at launch lol.
From what I’ve seen it doesn’t like this groundbreaking game that it was hyped up being but it looks cool. If I get a Xbox anytime I’ll try it out
I don't see what got Sony or Xbox amped enough to try to get starfield as a exclusive. I think it's boring and it's still using that ancient fucking Skyrim engine just rehauled Abit. It's a flop by NASA. They got a rpg for themselves and it's boring as hell

Even if Starfield was a masterpiece, I don’t think one game can can completely change a consoles reputation. Playstation was able to change the way people looked at their platform through many years of releasing quality games. Xbox would have to do the same if they want anything to change

Unfortunately, RDR2's quality is very rare in the games industry.
If these huge open world games had RDR2's level of quality, then I think the size and scale could be justified. Unfortunately, the vast majority of open worlds are lifeless and boring.
The way I feel about open world games now is I always hope for quality over quantity. However, we don't often get quality over quantity.

Baldur's Gate is leagues above Starfield from what I've played of both. The writing/dialogue/animations/map/interest points/quests/combat are just so, SO much more rich with Baldur's Gate. It's probably a decent rpg, but it's nowhere near this huge masterpiece Xboners were trying to make it to be lol, not even close to being in the GOTY conversation.
Good for MS but I've heard there many repeated assets and tilesets when exploring planets. Plus moons and gas giants are counted in those 1000s.
Yea, I knew the world would likely not feel lived in once they said 10% of the world would be populated and the planets are procedure generated. Thats 9/10 code for we did not polish the assets to make world feel dense.
The repeated assets bother me in all games.
Lol dev's re-use assets all the time, its nothing new in gaming. Ppl just looking any little thing.
When they talked about 1,000 planets being fully explorable, what exactly were you expecting? Were you expecting 1,000 handcrafted unique planets? Of course they were gonna be procedurally generated, and over 90% would be copy and pasted, lifeless and boring. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone...

As much as XBOX’s PR people irritates me, I am glad that they finally have a game worth talking about for some time to come. They even made Bethesda delay it to tighten it up more. Good job XBOX.
It's a good game but not a great game and certainly not a generational game. Besides the overpromising and underdelivering that is typical of todd games it just doesn't have enough depth. Baldur's Gate 3 is what Starfield should be but isn't.

I saw people today getting mad IGN gave the game a 7 when the guy who did the review has 20yrs of game experience and put 70 hours into the game.
I think its really funny when people don’t take IGN seriously but yet they go there to check reviews and get mad its low and want it to be higher.
So do you not take them seriously or want them to give your favorite publisher or anticipated game a 9-10 out of 10. 🤡🤡🤡
It’s not a system seller. Spiderman 2 is a system seller. God of war is a system seller.
What I want is a Saints Row 2 map size but filled with a live, destructible, open world. Imagine if you flew a plane in gta 5, and when you jump out, it actually destroyed a barn or whatever it finally crashed into.
@0:55 “we are getting closer and closer…” to disappointment
Average is great now 😅
Its going to be a GOTY contender, but it won’t win. That’s going to go to Baldurs gate 3 or Zelda. I think Starfield releasing after Baldurs gate 3 hurt it. Everyone is just going to compare them the same way horizon was compared to Zelda and Elden ring. I don’t think it needs to be a huge 97 metacritic score game for Xbox. They already have had a better year than PlayStation and there future is looking to be more promising imo. It’s a good step in the right direction from the and with updates and mods the game will only get better.
It's going to be a goty contender for no other reason than pity.
Wait... how have they had a better year where Final Fantasy XVI and Spider-Man 2 are dropping on PS?
Did Redfall really push Xbox ahead? lmao
And the xbox delusion continues
You gotta be one of the crazies on the loose if you think Xbox is doing better than PS
I meant better than PlayStation so far. Ps had only dropped ff16 while Xbox dropped hi fi rush and Starfield. Although I think by the time spiderman releases they’ll probably be equal. Plus they had an underwhelming showcase and they just increased ps plus prices. And how is Starfield a pity pick? It’s got the same metacritic score as ff16 and that’s probably going to get nominated also. I don’t even have an Xbox but I’m glad to see some good games coming from them.
@sadbearsfan1603 One game makes Xbox equal to PlayStation's two games... LMAO
Lower standards for Microsoft as usual. Pity standards, and Starfield will get a pity goty nom because they haven't had a nom in years. PlayStation and Nintendo can make goty contention a regular thing, while Xbox can do it in a blue moon "NOW THEY ARE EQUAL"... LMAO
PlayStation releases The HUGE Burning Shores DLC, The release of PSVR2, the release of Call of the Mountain, the release of Final Fantasy XVI, the release of Spider-Man 2
Xbox releases Starfield... "IT'S OFFICIAL THEY ARE EQUAL!"
*PHIL SPENCER! PHIL SPENCER BABY LET'S GO! YES! YES! YES! (begins wheeping)*
0:17 Jeremy over hear doing digging animations. 😭😭
I encourage folk to go listen to Easy Allies impression on Starfield. The most level headed discussion about the game. Not sucking it off
The guy at IGN who reviewed the game constantly bashes Xbox on his twitter account. He dresses up as Kratos...literally.
It is a 7, good but not great.
If you love Bethesda games you’ll like this, damn sure no GOTY though.
Loadingscreen simulator, i was so disappointed that even entering the ship was a loading screen, can't even fly around the planet, can't even fly anywhre💀💔
watched a stream on twitch, looks boring.
Just finished playing about 2 hours. Didn't hook me like I thought it would, especially since I love sci-fi . People say it gets better but eh.
It gets better after about 100 hours trust me.
@@chasejackson7248 LOL. There in lies the problem.
All jokes aside, I think after 8-12 hours, you should have a better idea of whether this game is for you...
