Hello I know the Chinese in this video is scuffed but hopefully you can still have some fun watching it LOL Editor and I spent many (many) months getting everything ready for this video so please do enjoy 🥹❤ Happy new years!

@@ambarvalia9757 its not really that easy to be able to be very fluent in your mother tongue if you live in a different country and have not that many people around you to speak the language with😭😭
Congrats Ant, you caught another attention of a Chinese here (Malaysian born Chinese) and I can highly relate to you not being good at Chinese and just like you, even I'm trying to learn more Chinese (I'm cursing and swearing as im learning Chinese right now because I swear it's so hard for me to learn a language that i lack exposure to...). I grew up in a heavy English speaking environment in the family and as well as Malay speaking environment in school so my chances of speaking Chinese there were slim to none at all... Sad honestly but I'm being VERY slow in trying to pick my Chinese up and for now, I can understand only a little of what you said here (if it's not for the subtitles, I'll be looking at your video like a dumbass basically lmao😂). New sub btw~

I have been learning Chinese for a year now and because you speak at a nice pace, I could understand a lot of what you said without looking at the subtitles. please make more! it was very helpful and enjoyable :>
YOOO THAT BARBER DID👏YOU👏RIGHT👏!!! You look amazing with your new haircut and I don’t speak Chinese but my cousins live in China so they tell me some things but their English is great! Personally I think your Chinese was still really good, learning a language is really hard. Happy new year and chirstmas eve Antony!

Haha you went to Shanghai!! Last time I went, I jokingly told my friend it’s “my own personal hell” because there’s _so_ much merch for anime fans and it’s hard to get yourself to stop spending money. 😂 Personally I’m actually more into Chinese donghua now, but Shanghai was also a great hell for that because there was _actually_ merch for donghua in physical shops-because donghua merch would be rare in other countries-and there were so many different pieces of merch of many different series, which meant I had so so many temptations! Couldn’t stop buying stuff ahaha. Glad to see you guys also having fun and hope it was a nice trip. ^^

watching from singapore as a chinese~~ REALLY LOVED THIS VLOG ! i went to china last yr too, and omg u sound so different when speaking Chinese and your tone is perfect and its so funny I understand the struggles of knowing certain words in English but not Chinese as its not my 1st language too🤣
As a native Chinese speaker, I have to say that your Chinese is so much better than most foreigners. The usage of words is quite relaxed and casual, like a real Chinese person would, and even your accent is kind of similar to those from Guangdong province. :D
This was so fun to watch as an abc who grew up speaking mandarin at home but English at school haha. Also at 13:15 I think you wanted to say 角色 (jué sè not jiǎo sè, i know it’s kinda strange lol) cause 特点 means character as in like a special quality that something has haha.

I also live in beijing and Im so happy you decided to visit! I think one reason why everything is so expensive is because you’re prob living in like 1-3 “circle” of Beijing. Beijing is basically split into like multiple circles with the ones closest to downtown(1-3) being the most expensive. If you go out into the suburbs (4-5) everything is wayyy cheaper, like im not even kidding. Stuff thats like 20 quai (like $2.5-ish) in 4-5 circle is like 100+ quai ($15-ish) in downtown.
hahahaha,as a native Chinese,i think your Chinese is really excellent!!!The pronunciation is normative🎉And i recommend you to visit Nanjing, because there is my hometown😂

It's a surprise to me that it's considered a thick accent because i never notice my own or other people's and don't notice its absence in other Mandarin accents
@@Sky-rw5vq Maybe it's because I grew up in America. Like Antony, I'm not very fluent in Mandarin so the slightest accent will be noticeable, because it would change the pronunciation and then I can't understand it lol
@@Sky-rw5vq Did you grow up in Canada? I've heard that Chinese-Canadians keep up with their language skills (whether it's Mandarin or other) better than Chinese-Americans.
