I thought I would compile a list of my favourite mods for you to try out! These all currently work on 1.12.2 and some of them have been updated for newer versions of Minecraft too.
To get these mods to work you will first need to download the correct version of forge here - files.minecraftforge.net/
Then you will need to download the correct version of the mod, matching the forge version. Some mods have dependencies on other mods or libraries (it will usually tell you when you load up if you are missing a mod, just google it and download whatever you are missing)

~~Mod suggestions: The "Decocraft" mod and the "Bibliocraft" mod goes perfectly with this other mod named "Cocricot", it adds a bunch more decorations and decorative food. Instead of getting wearable backpacks, get travellers backpack, people can’t take stuff out of it, it doesn’t take up your chest plate storage, has a built in sleeping bag AND you can get ones that look like animals 🥺
