Liebherr - R 996B Power Pack Replacement

A documentation of a Liebherr R 996B Hydraulic Excavator undergoing a Power Pack replacement at Yancoal's Moolarben coal mine in NSW, Australia. This modular approach to maintenance significantly decreases critical risks, and dramatically reduces the machine's downtime, therefore increasing productivity.

How long did then job take, from start to finish ?
Wimpey mining had a 994 on a site near my home town in s Wales in the u.k,they changed the slew ring on it , I was lucky enough to have a ride in it ,back in the 90,s .

What machine is the 996 in the current 4-digit Liebherr mining naming scheme?

@@fulladpipe no , 9600 is just a tad bigger than the 995 , 996 is comparable with 9800 , the only difference being cab height, weight , and slight bucket capacity. 9600 will most likely be a pontoon excavator like p995

@@S70AMG 996 is around 670 tonne. 996 is no longer made and has been superseded by the new 9600.
The 9800 is a newer model than the 996 and weights in at around 800 tonne. It is also around 1 metre taller overall.
