Thanks. Wasn't sure how to measure the tube.
Nice information. Thanks. I usually ship long items through UPS - posters, golf clubs, etc. They are the cheapest for long items. USPS charges extra for long items. However, recently I shipped a poster, like have many times through UPS, and a week later, I got an additional $13 charge. I know my weight and measurements were correct because its basically the same for every poster. Have you experienced this with UPS or USPS?
Yes it has happened to me a couple of times. And I called on it as well. That’s why I always go over an inch that way there’s no issues, the machines are not perfect and sometimes they miss read the size then you get charged additional fees.
Your tube was exactly 11 so it was not economical to pay for 12". But if you are over by any amount, safer to go to the next inch up.
So would you say usps ground advantage is the least expensive for poster tubes? I’m going to be selling a lot of mint condition prints that have never been rolled and I’m trying to figure out the best way to ship them. I’ve been selling on eBay for almost 20 years but I rarely dealt with mailing tubes. I do remember when I did, there was actually a shipping option for mailing tubes when making my listing. I don’t see that any longer. Any help would be appreciated.
The USPS Media Mail service is meant to promote the shipment of educational materials including books, posters, documents, loose-leaf pages, medical information for doctors, hospitals, and medical students, textbooks, printed music and printed educational reference charts, play scripts, printed objective test materials
