NO... The 49ers have had ZERO success moving down in the draft under Lynch! We did this letting Wirfs go for Kinlaw and Picking BA Instead moving up to get JJ. No stay put and draft one of the best 11 players primarily an OT and then use your other picks to move up or down. Can't trust Lynch!
@ Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this regime has only moved back twice (once in 2017 and once in 2020), and it was only one spot in each case (from 2 to 3 in 2017 and from 13 to 14 in 2020). They moved back and took Thomas in 2017 and they moved back and took Kinlaw in 2020. But neither of the guys that were taken ahead of them (Mitch Trubisky at #2 in 2017 and Tristan Wirfs at #13 in 2020) were guys they even wanted. Yes, they should have taken Wirfs in hindsight, but they went into that draft with a plan of replacing Buck. In both cases, they only moved back because they knew the team they traded with wasn't going to take the guy they wanted. So, really, moving back wasn't the mistake. The mistake was the players they took.
I think you guys are forgetting the 49ers history. Why would you take a guard in the first round? Get a weapon! Get a tight end that can help youcreate mismatches. Time to throw doesn’t really matter if you’ve got five guys that can catch the ball at 2 yards and turn it into a 20 yard gain. This is the 49ers. We are talking about. It’s not their philosophy. The Tight End pick is the type of picks you guys gush over and get excited for and then half way through the season you are crying about Kyle and trashing him for picking another TE when Kittle is still dominant. I haven't watched all the Edge prospects but Sawyer was the first one I watched. I'm glad you think he's currently overrated, I saw a 4th rounder in him, thought his buddy Tuimoloau was a better prospect but a 3rd rounder. Currently I have them ranked 1:Carter, 2:Walker, 3a:Umanmielen, 3b: Pearce, 3c:Scourton, 6:Williams; 7:Jackson, 8:Kennard, 9: Green. I kind of hate that I watched all these guys since all we see as fans are their on field work and nothing about their preparation, intelligence and character. So who knows, Carter could be cancer in the locker and drop like a rock. Scourton could be a defensive play recognition savant, and fly up the boards. Good stuff Krueg.

Harold Fannin Jr. Is big and physical, for a wr, not for a TE. Hes 6'4", 230. I like him but more as Delany Walker like TE or a Juice Replacement but not as an in line TE.
They ask JJ to do a lot of that stuff. He was just out wide a lot more this year, due to Pearsall getting shot and Aiyuk getting injured. If they didn't have Jennings, I'd love Fannin. They don't need any more high draft picks on pass catchers, already enough mouths to feed.

Also I would still pick him highly as a TE because of that versatility. If I only needed an in line TE his value would fall a lot because of how small he is.

BR comped him to Kyle Van Noy, but he's closer to Parsons in size. I don't know if he's as good as Parsons, but he's def a stud.
