Federal prosecutors in New York have rested their case against former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández, who is accused of turning the Central American country into a narco-state. Hernández is on trial for cocaine trafficking and weapons charges and is the first former head of state to stand trial in the United States since Panamanian dictator and U.S. ally Manuel Noriega was also tried on drug charges after a U.S.-led ouster. Prosecutors accuse Hernández, a longtime U.S. ally accused of human rights violations throughout his presidency, of accepting millions of dollars in bribes from cocaine traffickers in exchange for protection, and of turning Honduras into a drug trafficking narco-state. If convicted, Hernández could join his brother Juan Antonio in serving a life sentence in the U.S. We speak to two writers who have been attending the trial in New York: historian Dana Frank and author and Honduran screenwriter Oscar Estrada. "There's a narrative here that … the Honduran people can't govern themselves, and then suddenly the U.S. is coming in and heroically imposing the rule of law," says Frank about U.S. public perception of the trial. However, she continues, "It's the opposite. It's the United States that helped destroy the criminal justice system in Honduras."

"Justice Before Dawn",..that was a film title quite long ago.
If one of the witnesses who was called by the prosecutors clearly expressed that this former president had said that he was planning on staying in power for 25 years, why did Mr. Hernandez reelect (himself?...or ) for a second 4-year term? No one in the history of the country had ever dared to do that before.

Dude its not THE US like its one coherent entity... Like you can see with the District of New York prosecuting this corrupt drug trafficking President who destroyed his country against the interests and will of the White House and state department. There are many diverging interests within any country, the same goes for the US. You may think it's as simple as that by calling out the US and to push for accountability. but the truth of the matter is that it is far more complex than that! Time to read more, to acquire more knowledge, to look and assess it from many different angles in order to understand the matter as much as possible, everything else it parroting simple populist statements to make oneself look "smart" or "good" but that doesn't help anybody!

We must fully resist and _always vote_ against (& less authoritarian than) both the Democratic *and* Republican Parties- including Trump, Vivek Ramaswamy, Rand Paul (He’s _no_ Ron Paul), and all other Republicans.
For _all_ public positions. And this same strategy applies against the two-party monopolies in _all_ countries worldwide.
Real libertarians will never be Republicans or Republican loyalists. You can always _write-in_ an anti-authoritarian person if no candidates for a position fit that bill.
This will continuously reduce the power of _both_ authoritarian parties in the two-party monopolies. Until our task is complete.
Repeat strategy for all new authoritarian parties that emerge.
