Really nice job by RE. As long as youre not expecting gobs of low down torque like a lot cruisers have, this will fit the bill for lots of motorcyclists. It’s not going to wow you with off the line speed and you’ll be changing gears a lot on roads with elevation changes.

I think prices are cheap because it's manufacturing is in India, so skilled labour is available at low costs and total manufacturing cost including parts is also very low compared to the west. What did you think of the handling on this bike? I test rode it 3 days ago and genuinely was surprised by it. I don’t know wether it’s the suspension or the added weight but I felt I handled better than the interceptor.
I totally agree with you, but i was expecting a V-Twin which could give it good potent numbers in terms of engine output and also that they have never tried to do with a V-Twin for a long time
I tested RE 650 GT and interceptor. That engine is great ! Supermeteor is not my cup of tea, but I am really looking forward for Classic 650 ! I owned RE 500 EFI, it was factory for emotion, but kind of slow to streets in this days...That Classic with this 650 will be great ! I am sure !
My only gripe with the new REs is they veered away with the hand painted pinstriping and the initials of the striper under the tank. Such a great touch. Triumph did it until all manufacturing went to Thailand on their Bonnies. Enfield did it until recently. They need to bring it back.
Hey, Hey, Hey! I have the Super Meteor 650 in astral black. I am still flabbergasted that they can produce such a fine machine at the price for which I paid. Amazing! I love my 2024 meteor and plan to see the redwoods and mark that off my bucket list. I live by the Atlantic Ocean. That will be quite a ride for the Super G.
The main thing I want to know is how much of the bike contains Chinese parts? I'm fine with owning motorcycles made anywhere in the world...except China.
I’m not riding cruisers anymore because the sheer size of them and my older back don’t get along. It’s a solid bike for sure I’m not sold but worth a look. Not a lot of power but I’m not looking for gobs of power anymore.
Got one in astral black. And I love it, I chucked a growly aftermarket rhino racing exhaust on it. Fitted a DNA racing air filter. And chucked some chrome adjustable front brake and clutch levers on it. And it goes like a gun!
I have bought a Super Meteor 650 Celestial Blue. This bike is not at all meant for riding in the city. It has a very high turning radius, heats a lot ( very much more than my expectations) and the average is only 10 km/litre. The executives at Royal Enfield are claiming for average to be 22km/litre which totally false. They have given a charging USB Port inside the side panel case😂. What is the use of that ? What sense does it make ? In RE 350 it is below your side handle bar which is more appropriate. If you want to take this bike for an outstation ride than it is one of the best. Extremely stable bike with superb pick up. Look wise it s a beast . This is a very non biased and honest review. I had spoken to their executives at the Service station. Even they agreed to my feedback.
Looks pretty nice! If you were to have £6-7K to spend on a beginner-ish cruiser, and had your sights set on both this and the Honda Rebel 500, what would you feel that you'd get for the extra £500 spent on the Meteor 650, in a day-to-day, real world experience context? (I know it's a case of a 650 vs a 500, but particularly with Cruisers, that's not so much of a simple comparison, with weight and torque to look at, etc.).
I love retros and especially cruiser styles. The super meteor is brilliant in my eyes , but I do think that maybe Royal Enfield could do with a bigger engine option as well as the 650 500 and 350 I know this would increase the price somewhat but they would probably still be cheaper than their main competitors in Triumph, Harley D and Indian I know there are after market kits to take them up to 800ish or more but maybe they could do an actual bigger RE engine maybe just under the 1200s of the others or maybe a bit bigger lol. I also think I'd like to see a Continental "CT" ( City tourer) with a jazzed up version of the 350 engine this could be cool for around town
I took one for a test ride today and it’s really nice well built but not for me. The rear suspension is really hard and you get bucked off the seat on speed humps unless you take it painfully slow and I didn’t like the way it rode when slow riding. It’s is a great ride tho it didn’t have the power I was expecting my old Interceptor was faster. Not sore if it’s geared differently. The breaks are great tho
I used to own a Harley Iron 883 but traded it for a 400cc scooter. After seeing this RE, i thought about buying back an easy rider type of a bike. How is this bike compared to the Iron 883 ( if anyone knows )?
Like the bike but interested in your comment re different to Harleys. Apart from engine, the dimensions almost match XL1200T perfectly. Just a couple of centimeters taller.
Ride them and you'll feel the difference. Hard to quantify other than to say it's a feeling. I'm buying a Super Meteor, it's very nice and ok but every time I ride my Harley I fall in love with it again. However the Super Meteor is lighter, has a way lighter clutch and brakes that work.
In brecon mid wales this morning there was a disguised royal enfield 450 himalayan hybrid, i asked the fella what uit was he was quite cagey said it waas an indian bike so i asked if it was the new water cooled 450 himalayan he admitted it was duct tape over badges twin exhaust silencers one side, quite low seat and cast wheels
I think appearance was the perfect place to start. That’s a beautiful bike and the reason we stop to ask what’s under the hood; how does she ride; what’s the price; will she hold up? Those questions and answers seal the deal. But looks start the conversation.
A very good bike, by most accounts. For the money, worth considering as a smaller ‘all-rounder’. What I really don’t like about the looks is the rather naff Enfield logo on the offside engine case…yuk!
The problem for me is that the discontinued 350 and 500 Classic bikes made sense as a true retro, but I don’t see anything interesting in their modern bikes. However, I don’t live in the UK!. Here in my part of Europe we see RE represented in the motorcycle shows, but we don’t see them on the road.
I'm going to make a comment, and this is critically important. The side covers over the frame, are critically important to the overall look of a vintage motorcycle. You cannot just remove the plastic side covers and battery box, and have a better bike. Side covers are necessary, unless you modify the entire motorcycle to make up for the big empty hole in middle where the covers are. The side covers provide part of the shape of the motorcycle, and are connected with the seat, and fuel tank, and frame, to give it a certain look. The trend of cafe racers removing stuff, for no reason whatsoever, has to stop.
I was anticipating upgrading from my Meteor 350, but a friend bought one and after one month is trying to sell it because he finds the ergonomics poor for our twisty roads and the feet forward seating position gives him a sore back on long runs.
Weight isn’t an issue when you’re on the move. I loved riding my wife’s 300kgs HD Dyna but moving it around the garage was a total turn-off. Sadly the new REs are too heavy. The 350 Classic is close to 200kgs. Some sort of weight reduction program is needed. Okay if you’re a young bloke but I’m not anymore.

@@RufusCapstick waiting for them to go into shops here - looking forward to throwing a leg over.
RE is testing their Himalayan 450 in UK and India .You saw test model of it
Make it shaft drive get rid of the chain leg ripper
Great bike indeed, love Royal Enfield! I do wish however that the wheel base was slightly longer. It looks a bit short for me length of 183cm.
Bro for 185 , it has the perfect rider positioning
Can’t wait until they make a 1200cc version
For me it's interceptor
I think appearance was the perfect place to start. That’s a beautiful bike and the reason we stop to ask what’s under the hood; how does she ride; what’s the price; will she hold up? Those questions and answers seal the deal. But looks start the conversation.
Best bike for modification.
Price already increased enormously! It is €9.900 in Austria! I envy everyone in a country where you pay the equivalent of GBP 6,700
The 350 Classic is not discontinued.
Bike is probably the only thing where appearance does matter almost equally as its utility and performance. So, there's nothing superficial about it.
I was anticipating upgrading from my Meteor 350, but a friend bought one and after one month is trying to sell it because he finds the ergonomics poor for our twisty roads and the feet forward seating position gives him a sore back on long runs.
Proud moment to be an indian😊
Why? Have you done anything for it? Just a sheep in a herd.
Can’t get one of those Super Meteor’s in Canada. The only one I would buy. Hopefully they bring it here soon.
I saw a tank going through the city once.
Buy re hunter
Love the wide handlebar
Think the astral black is the best color especially with a ceramic exhaust
Great video, can you please add metric/imperial conversations on number figures? Excited to see the Shotgun for sure, 👍
*GO Metric! Fuck LBS (Lot of Bull Shit) and Fluid ounce??? What is that?*
Exc review- A nice classic look bike that has me wanting one over the honda cb350

The one thing about my RE I don't like is long distances. Maybe this would fix it
Looks gorgeous
