Intense match indeed. Of course Levan is overall more powerful, due to sheer size, but Ermes has a shoulder made out of steel, tons of endurance and passion, and his arm could withstand heavy pressure in losign position and looked like a mechanical spring pulling back as soon as pressure from Levan decreased to switch from positions. Impressive
They were both put into deep waters in that match. Ermes injured his shoulder and Levan was passed out on his feet. Denis saying Ermes "should have held center" is true, but it was more a matter of Levan simply dominating the center. Ermes had zero chance there and that resulted in the desperation defense, but what a defense it turned out to be!

I dont know why people say Levan won. How can he be the winner since he quit? Stamina plays a huge role here. if they continue the match Ermes could possible win him. Dude is 50kg more than everyone else anyway , this is not fair to be honest.

Ну это смотря с кем. Я никогда не сомневался в победе Дениса, при всём конечно уважении к Левану. И именно по такой схеме, по которой боролся Эрмес с Леваном, Денис бы и победил. Только Эрмесу маленько не хватило, чтобы удержать первые раунды, а Денис если вернет форму - удержит 100%.

Levan has no stamina! However, it takes a very strong opponent to wear Levan out, because he uses his strength and weight straight away. It maybe the case that Dennis can do that though!
Levan was lacking side pressure to finish, and his body was too massive to properly position and rotate to finish with just back pressure, like lighweights do. The thing about using your body weight is that it only work as long as you arm can hold yourself, once you are down there, its like trying to hold your arm flexed on a pull up bar, not everyone can do it.
Levan basically shoved in a line towards his opponents elbow, so he was using most of his strength in the direction his opponents bone is. You cant compress bones haha

Levan is massive, that grants him immense strength and power, but if that causes oxygen intake issues then that means that those muscles are using more oxygen than Levan can take in. That is where Denis will get the upperhand, if Dennis also gets the stop then he can do what Devon intended to do, bleed the giant, tire him out, and get the pin.
And it's exactly what will happen. Or Levan will improve his general endurance otherwise Denis will smash him easily.
this tactic only works if you resist him long enough for the gas to run out,most of the time levan crushes opponents well before his stamina lets him down,ermes did a great job of draining him but it was already over by the time it happened,had ermes got a pin in the opening 3 pulls then i dont think levan would have been able to go the distance and could have lost the match,but who is realistically going to get an early pin on him and then work him to submission?
That's wrong. At loads above 30% max, the stronger has increasing advantage.
Let me just be perfectly clear... current Dennis has 0% chance of beating Levan. Out of a 100 matches he would lose a 100 times. This version of Dennis would lose to Ermes, Dave Chaffe, Devon and many others. The version of Dennis that recently fought John Brzenk has zero chance against Levan. Only if he can reach his old form will he be able to beat Levan and I don't think it's possible. If it can done it will take another 3 to 5 years.

I never liked how some competitors will just hang on the edge using their body weight as an advantage. The only weight that should be allowed is from the arm. But when you weight over 300 pounds.. of course those people will have a huge advantage just hanging on the side of the table. Don't see why they allow that technique.
you know that it takes a lot of stamina and strength to hang your heavy body under the table right?
@კაპლი you're *also adding* more weight for the opponent to carry that is not coming from arm wrestling strength, but just your body weight hanging. If a guy 100 pounds does this, it's a very small effect, but when a 300 pound man hangs down.. the opponents arm really feels that weight.

@@AcidGlow No , it doesn't. Just being heavy and hanging down will not magically pull opppnents arm to the pad. You STILL need to use your armstrength. There are a lot of strongmen and other guys who are heavier than levan but levan would probably break their arms in a match because they aren't that strong in armwrestling specific motions.

Я не знаю, что сделал Леван, чтобы набрать весь вес, который он набрал с начала своей профессиональной карьеры до сих пор, будь то еда, наркотики или и то, и другое. Но ему явно нужно было похудеть в течение длительного времени для его долгосрочного здоровья. И теперь это начинает сказываться на его карьере. Надеюсь, ради Левана, он знает, что ему не нужно весить 190 килограммов, чтобы победить!

Вес пусть остаётся, но если ты задохнулся и не можешь проводить поединок то ты автоматически проигрываешь поединок. Тогда каждый начнет задумываться на счет лишней массы.

I think what made Levan’s style deadly is he has short burst power like no other. He will dominate anyone in the center and always end up in a winning position in 1-2 seconds. That’s always a guarantee.
But the problem, is that it’s short burst. It only lasts for very few seconds. After that, it’s power cuts down immensely hence why he can’t really finish the wrestle after the short burst.
But Levan found a great way to exploit this weakness. After getting in a winning position, he’ll use his body weight instead as additional force. That’s why just before the pin, he drags his entire weight down the table. Because his short burst power ran out of power.

Denis reminds me of my brother. As soon as he could afford to go to the gym, at around 18 years of age, he went and basically ate every single machine, weight and excercize to the point where in his early 30s he was known as "Muscles" and was feared by everyone at the mere mention of him. The problem is what happens afterwards: now in his mid 40s, he looks like the Michelin-Man and it's scary in a different way...anyway, props to Denis for being humble, knowledgeable and strong.

Wow this video gave an insight other than Dennis's thoughts..after watching the event live..ive realised that the crowd noise was a little muted maybe in order to hear the commentary clearer..but it sounds great to hear the real atmosphere from the room..the east vs west and King of the table have been absolutely great..if I could suggest 1 thing it would be to hear the crowd better..they create so much atmosphere
Now I see the commentary definitely add special effect to supermatches in arm wrestling as well...

The fact that Ermes stopped Levan in some rounds is crazy. I feel bad for Ermes next opponent haha. This match showed Levan what he needs to improve on, where the Devon match didn't really show him anything. Devon couldn't expose Levans weakness like Ermes did. Levan will come back more polished I believe due to this match showing his weaknesses under maximum load. I can't wait to see both of there next matches because I think they both will be much better! Ermes vs Devon is the match I want to see. I honestly think Ermes would win it right now (even as a huge Devon fan).

Levan has the ultimate power, but with his weight at this moment, the endurance could be a problem when the rematch would we the best of 7 or more. Power against endurance. That could be the match of the year. And Cyplenkov... so great he makes a comeback. The best armwrestlers in the last decades together. I hope Cyplenkov can show his power against the best.
I mean, Levan just effectively won a best of 7 without a loss... so there wouldn't have even been a round 5 if it was best of 7.

@@GioCTRL imo it's all down to the person's physiology; their genetics, their potential vs their innate limitations. Without know Ermes personally I can't accurately say who has sacrificed more or less. But it is clear to me that Ermes, Levan, and Dennis has sacrificed a lot.

Здесь была работа на атаку, а не удержание в обороне, у делает Тодд. Именно поэтому Тоддом возмущаются, потому что он слабее в поединке и вывозит лишь за счёт "нечестного" удержания в обороне. Да и не только к Тодду тупик претензии. Леван же сильнее Ермеса, это всем очевидно.

@@JurgenHabermas_EU акклиматизация Левана, в том месте, где у них был армфайт было очень душно, сидел там в зрителях, мне самому плохо стало, а они боролись ещё, Гаспарини тоже потом поплохело и он быстрей за кулисы ушёл после проигрыша
