Running 🏃♀️ late for work😊and trying to watch your video at the same time. I'm so inspired this morning. Thank you, Ms. Claire!!! I'm in NYC Brooklyn. So I would never be able to enjoy one of your retreats 😢However, I do appreciate so very much living vicariously through these beautiful videos😊
I absolutely loved your sketches and thank you for sharing your journey with us. I have many of the rainbow pencils, so I am going to try to sketch with them now.
Its actually not too bad really, as long as you take it slow. Also, several students worked out quite early that you can get a taxi up to the hotel from down by the shops and restaurants for only five euros. So after a late night drinking and eating they would all jump in a taxi 😂👌
I really like the Sakura Micron brand, they are perminant so they wont bleed when you do washes over the top. (theartshop.com.au/collections/sakura-micron-pens?srsltid=AfmBOooRO4xf4iEYyvkhTmLsR2ukWe9qFNde1jaBaeSViPgs9OPXEnzc)
They are both the same but also quite different. Acrylic gouache is permanent/not re-wettable. So it is pretty much just regular acrylic paint except that it dries matte and has a similar consistency as gouache. Traditional gouache is more like watercolor, it can be reconstituted with water once dry so if you have it on a palette you can use it over and over again.
Your paintings Claire are just lovely. Your love for what you do shines through. So talented and such a unique style. Thank you for sharing.

Love the mixed media approach! The pen sketches were so cute too. Beautiful sketchbooks :)
Thanks for sharing. Such lovely paintings 😊
Fabulous. I want to go to Greece so badly 💜💙💚
Glad you had a fun retreat! Walking up and down all those hills would kill me but it’s fun to see through your eyes!
thank you Clair, Welcome home.
How did the group feel about the retreat?
Be nice to hear from them as students.
Looks fabulous.😊
Looks amazing - though those hills would kill me too. I soooo want to go. Perhaps next year...

Do you have a favorite fine liner pen to sketch with? I've tried a few and they've all leaked/bled. I love how you outline your watercolor sketches😍

If you are starting off is straight gouache better or acrylic gouache?
