I was not surprised. What is surprising is you did not tuck down, just to see if you could get even faster with a 3rd speed run..Good stuff. Thank you.
hi. i added a windshield to my 2022 grom too; its pretty much an universal windshield and definitely worth it. also incredibly frustrating to put on to get perfectly symetrical. but in your video are u sitting upright on the bike or semi hunched? i got around 2mph gain not 5. just wondering, thx
Does the new monkeys have a break in period.. I only getting around 57 for a top speed.. Only have about 40 miles.. 2024.. I have exhaust and a kn filter in the box..
Every new bike has a break in period. The Honda monkeys is 300 miles, but top speed depends on terrain and wind. Some days I have trouble breaking 40 (strong wind at a slight incline), others Im at a consistent 45 going up steep hills, some days I easily hit 57 going down the road. Some people get 60-70 going down an incline with the wind pushing against their back. Other buy a big bore kit increasing the cc’s of their bike, lowering the reliability in favor for speed. Others change the sprocket teeth (for more acceleration but at the cost of a lower top speed and vice versa). Anyways 57 isn’t bad for your monkey considering they have a top speed of 60.
Besides the other upgrades, did you change any of the sprockets? You are 10 mph faster than mine without the windshield. If you changed the sprockets, your MPH would not be accurate since it is recorded at the gear shaft.
Yes, I dropped a tooth in the front sprocket, which is why I said that speeds are not accurate, only an indicator of change between runs with/without windscreen. Thanks!
Can you please send the links for the windshield and exhaust you have on the bike? Thank you mate incredible the difference will get the windshield for sure.
Looking to learn this same thing. I live in a windy area and I’m getting pushed around on my monkey. Nothing crazy but wouldn’t mind something to knock it down a bit.
I think windshields ruin the naked look of the bike,.gotta say, even though yours doesnt fit in with the retro style of the bike!... its actually not that bad because coz its just clear so almost invisible..
Hi. Thank you for the video. I bought my 2023 Honda Monkey a week ago. So far it has 88 miles on it. I'm pretty disappointed because it's topping out at 53 mph on a flat road. What would you say would be the cheapest upgrade I could do to get me at least to 55 mph.
It means that the engine need some "running in " miles go get better, thereby it will get more horsepower. Wait 1500 miles and you will see better performance @@MarkDavidBlack
Indeed they did get recorded out of order, as one ended up recording on time lapse, so had to be redone after figuring that out... lunch at the pub would have been nicer.
Thank you for a non-filler, straight to the point video! 👍
Beautiful. +5mph for the windshield
Aerodynamics is amazing
Finally able to take advantage of that massive torque lol
Yeah that 120mpg really helps
Yep, own a 2023 Monkey and they are absolute beasts.😜

Dart Flyscreen working perfect for me! And nice fitting.
Did you gain any top speed with the Dart Flyscreen?
Dude you have a really awesome bike and I like your yt videos!
Awesome! Thanks for this video! Cheers

Upright. I didn't tuck in either run

So, after market exhaust and intake and flashed the ECU for that and raised the rev limiter, what 500 or so rpm.

Here is the Monkey page on my website with links to each part, as well as other videos, including specifically on the exhaust. ridgeroamer.com/monkey/
@@RidgeRoamer Thank you so much fantastic.
How was it for keeping the wind off of you?
Wind break for the chest. Head still in open air.
Was your head buffeted more or the noise increased in your helmet? I don’t have a wind screen and I feel like I’m going to get blown off the bike.
How much drag does the trailer make?
Not sure exactly. Mostly a weight adder, not much wind resistance. Haven't done a top speed test with it on.
@@RidgeRoamer sounds like a sequel video.
Does the windshield change the feel of the ride much, ie. cut down on wind feel or chill?

Of course snapperhead

Does this or other windshields help with the head and chest buffeting? I feel like I’m about to get blown off the bike over 45MPH.
I would like to get this but am having a hard time finding it. Do you know how much it was or where you got it?
@bep357 It is the Puig Rafale, but there are many other windscreens that will work as well or better. Just depends on your style. Thanks
@@RidgeRoamer thanks!!

does it make it easier to hear your speaker with the windshield?
No, not a big difference
Very surprising.

Windshield
You don't believe in running a engine in then?

@@MarkDavidBlackif its a brand new bike you need to break the engine in. Most honda bikes are broken in around 500 miles im sure.
this is more interesting than panty raid ❤
👍👏👏👏
Is before after lunch at the local pizza pub? Then later after adding the windshield then doing your business or cleanse? 😖😝🤓

Top speed 67 mph, shield 5 adder. 😀😆🤣
Asking for a friend.
4 min video that could’ve been reduced to 30 seconds or less.
