Goes between the metal wear sleeve & the crank. Creates a seal between the metal. Same reason ford puts a sealant on the rear.

Frank, I put one of those xdp starters on a cummins and it sounded same way, they sent me a new one that is good. They musta pissed off the little Chinese kid assembling them in China and he put some bad rice in em.

What are your thoughts on the XDP starter compared to OEM?

Always prefer OEM. XDP starters / alternators have done good for us lately though.

6.4 pan and filter upgrade is a good one for the 5r110 in the excursion. I’m running the same intercooler it’s the best value out there unless your trying to run 50 psi. I love my 2003 excursion tow rig.

I run Sinister products on my 6.0 Excursion. It’s disappointing to see that intercooler fail like that! Last time I checked it was $2,000!!!!
    That’s crazy!!

Yeah we been big fans of Sinister! But everyone has some bad eggs I guess!
