Thanks for keeping this video up. I know not everyone can separate the people from the music- but this set list is really nostalgic for me. And makes me feel better listening here than anywhere than can make nick a profit
I like the “i suck” he yelled but something about the “I swear to fucking god chris I’ll turn this car around shut the fuck up” in the recorded version makes me laugh
I practice these songs on drumset all the time. Their drummer is ABSOLUTELY the best Ive ever heard. Talent is one thing, but you cant be born with the abillity to play like that. He must have practiced for so long to get that good
i grew up with wesley and he was born with a pair of drumsticks in his hands. his talents go far beyond this bands genre even. the things i have seen him create and the music he has emulated just from a simple kit like that is just incredible. he’s a man of many genres and touches. give his bands sister sandy and ola mesa a listen. they involve the rest of the musicians in mccafferty aside from nick. nick is the genius behind mccafferty and all these guys have been playing together for years. probably since they were about 13-14. atleast that goes for chris and wesley. nick and evan were a few grades ahead of us but yeah long story short it’s been a long time coming. chris is nothing short of incredible either. he’s also very good at electric guitar and writing. like i said, take a listen to sister sandy and ola mesa.
This band make me realize that I can like a album so much that even if I tried not to listen to it because of nick, I needed it everytime I felt down and angry, it was that while crying or crying while being anxious thinking of hurting myself.
All I saw was that he said slur for gay people is that all he did or did he do something else cause if he stopped making music for a slur I'm going to be so annoyed The edit was a typo I always see edits as kinda sus
Listen, I know I'm going to get a lot of negativity for this comment, but I still listen to McCafferty and I fully support Nick's recovery, I'm just glad he's trying to get better.
I mean if we listen to the lyrics in the songs, Nick was always very aware and open that he was a bad person that had a lot of issues. He writes about it in practically every song. In “Cut Out the Pieces” he sings that “I am afraid of losing all control” which to me is a reference to his unstable anger issues. I very much hope that after all the harm Nick has done, he can recover and learn to be a better person. He did shitty things, but I would never wish for somebody to be suffering in his own mind as much as he clearly was.
Mizako 96 I really hope he gets better. And maybe even makes some more music. I met the guy at a concert and he really did act super kind to me. I still have the picture with me, him and Emily. I also told him that they’re my favorite band (cause they were and ignoring what Nick has done, still are) and he gave me his guitar pick and now I’m learning with it.
Mccafferty is my favorite comfort band, they make good music to just lie around to and allow yourself to fall into that strangely comforting pain. Even if it’s just for a small amount of time it’s still okay to feel that way sometimes. Mccafferty and especially the singer Nick has a great grasp on so many real life issues.
