Thank you Sir! I just bought one today and my grandson helped me get it out of my truck tonight! I was thinking the same thing about having one here to unload it! Lol
You’re lucky mine wouldn’t even go up the direction say one thing the ram says another. Looked inside it was bone dry not on drop of fluid in there. Ended up being it back as even filling it and bleeding did absolutely nothing.
thinkin bout getting one to keep in back of pick up truck to lift washing machines but by myself is going to be a pain I assume. Im trying to do my own junk removal .. I need a dolly , this thing , straps, moving blankets , and I was searching for some type of ramp that I can probably roll this heavy thing down to safety? If I can do it safely I'll get one. Don't want to let it roll down the ramp which I dont have yet and end up dismantling every bone in my lower body.
I would see how much lighter the 500lb table cart is, 500lb would be plenty strong enough to lift a fridge and it may be light enough to manhandle in and out of a truck. Also, I rigged up a 12 volt winch system for my truck and was able to winch things up a ramp into the back of my truck with no problem.
I was thinking about this, loading/ unloading alone. Haven’t tried it, but if I do in the future my plan was to get a trailer mounted cargo carrier (also keeps the lift out of your truck bed) and a board maybe to lever and roll it onto the cargo rack while not in use.
I've looked at a few of these videos now and I don't see any mention of a "safety" for that cylinder. I think the 500 lbs one has some steel plates that drop down so, if the actuator fails, the scissor action is stopped by the plates jamming against the structure. I'm also wondering, if you left a 500 lbs. load on it overnight, would the table be fully retracted by morning? Since you seem to be an A&P, you're probably familiar with how they safety the actuators on airstairs, with a steel pin inserted through the cylinder. Although, those cylinders are usually connected to the pump with hoses, so probably a higher likelihood of a rapid loss of fluid.
There are no safety catches, so you definitely wouldn't want to get under it when lifting something. I have left a 250lb generator on mine for months and it never bled down. For the most part, these are for putting something heavy on it and lifting it to a table or workbench height then sliding the heavy object off. One thing nice about it is there are no hoses, the foot pedal is a direct connection to the actuator so other than an internal seal/oring there is not a possibility of a hose rupture. It is kind of like a floor jack and usually when a floor jack finally starts leaking down it is a slow-bled-down leak and can get worse over time but the chances of a fast leak failure is slim.

I use mine consistently, being by myself all the time in my shop this is a must have for loading and unloading stuff in my truck bed
Push on the center of the bar to unlock both and lower the handle.
I tried that but it felt like it was going to break before it released.
@@737mechanic True. I've seen people do it online and it bends. Should be a tempered rod.
Nice informative vid. You’re gonna love your new Metabo!!!

If you had it a few mins ago you wouldn’t have needed to get it out of the truck🤪
161 lbs, per Harbor Freights specs for this table. Solid as the Rock of Gibraltar.

Or a cargo carrier with a ramp

That 500 lb table only lifts to 27 inches.
You wouldn't want it going much higher or you run the risk of it becoming unstable and tipping over and the cart I got is the 1000lb cart.
