Was wondering the same thing. My 7 year-old huawei is even much better. Seems like the samsung mic has built-in compession/gate or something, it sounds horrible

Per Samsung Customer service Care ....it worked instantly......Let’s try reset network settings on the device. From settings>>General management>>Reset>>Reset Network settings>>Reset settings>>Tap on reset.
