Keep coming back to this over and over. Great songwriting, great musicianship, great production. It's like they have taken the best parts of Iron Savior, old school Iced Earth, hints of Jag Panzer, and even Disturbed, and created an ode to Power Metal. Album of the year for me.

First listen, but it won't be my last.
I'm reading the classic serialized crime novel "the Maltese Falcon" while listening, and even distracted by the enrapturing novel, I still noticed--by sheer force of quality--two of the songs on this album, which yanked me from my focus and demanded a minute or two of my attention.
That's how I know an album has merit. You don't give the music your attention, instead thw music takes it.

Love this album !! Bought the CD. Hope they release some new stuff with the current singer (Jim Rutherford). Gret vocal talent! Good song writing, solid production and pro execution.

that's a question I wish I could answer. I have a full album completely finished with pre pro sitting on my hard drive since January 2021 and another 18 songs written and arranged in addition to that but thats all I can say really ... I guess we'll see what happens 🤷♂

honestly I'm not sure about that one myself not being familiar with Volbeat other than the name but we've also read that in several reviews so I guess there must be something to it? Always seems like its meant as a compliment anyway so we'll take it :D
nah, man. Jim has a different style. I guess people comparing them didn't listen to Volbeat recently enough and they have a bit of a wrong memory. and congrats on the album, it's awesome!

This has an early Mystic Prophecy feeling. Also, the singer sounds like if David Draiman from Disturbed started singing actual metal.
He actually did very early on, before they hit it big time and changed their sound/style. Then he lost it completely. :D

The vocals tone remindeds me of Jeff Scott Soto on yngwies' marching out.
Sounds a little like Graham Bonnet, at times, as well.

we are currently talking with the label about getting this out on vinyl. I can't say for sure when it will release on vinyl just that it most likely will happen some time this year and sooner rather than later :)

OK, this is definitely a must buy. Is a High-Res lossless version (24 bit/96 KHz or better) available for purchase and downloading at Bandcamp or anywhere else? I can't see what I get before actually paying for it, and getting 16 bit/44.1 Khz FLAC or WAV in 2020 is kind of meh.
Hi Boris .. thanks for the interest but no we are not selling 24bit master files. As an audio engineer for many years over many releases, including this one, I can tell you with 10000% certainty that there is just no way someone is going to notice any discernible improvement in sound quality over a normal 16 bit wave file. Not unless they're using the type of studio monitors, acoustically measured & treated room and / or ridiculously expensive mixing/mastering headphones I use. Then you might notice something. That is literally not about 95% of the music consuming population though . That all being said, buying the album from our bandcamp also gets you an exclusive, non album bonus track :)

(I plan to switch to Tidal with their MQA format and I happen to have the gear and the ear good enough to hear the difference).
@@xlati0n if I'm honest I have no idea if its available on Tidal. Depends what outlets the label's distributor handles but I can tell you there won't be anything higher than 16 wave available on anything as thats what we submitted to the label. All digital platforms will have used 16 waves pulled from the ddp file I sent them after mastering. Only people with the actual 24 bit master audio files are myself, the mix engineer and the mastering engineer :)
