S15 guy (at the beginning) was not happy with 800 PS and he wanted 1000 ps? or I'm I reading this wrong? SR20DET (with stroke/bore of 2.3L) and a 1000 HP/PS wow... just amazing!

All the cars were heavily modified. The 458 had very little modification in comparison. I bet it wud be the fastest here if it was equally tuned as much as the other cars here.
JUN 86 engine seems cool but it really needs shorter gearing and lighter car. It would be waaay quicker. Shifts at almost 12k rpm and drops to 7k in next gear and takes forever to rev back up.

さすが、メーカーが本気で作ったマシン!てとこですかね。速さを純粋に求めるならD1マシンや鈴木さんのシルビアみたいにビッグパワーを追い求めるだけじゃなく、トータルバランスが大事ですから。あと多分、タイヤの影響は絶大でしょうね。

アンダー鈴木はただ単にビッグパワー追い求めてるわけじゃ無いよ。あの人はパワーもそうだけど空力に一番力入れてるからね。ウイングも3枚にしたり翼端板も変えたり。
エアロだってそう。タイヤハウス内の空気抜いてリフトアップ防ぐために試行錯誤したり毎年のように、モディファイしてるし。ちなみにこの間筑波で中古Sタイヤで50秒出したしね。
